Finally got email that card production was ordered. Mailbox duty begins. Yippee!!
-
We're also checking the mailbox everyday for good news in the mail from Vermont. :P
-
We're waiting still with slightly later NOA. We have had zero updates on our case or change on case status - even after doing biometrics. That's making us nervous too!

This happened to us. The check cleared on second presentation a few days later. Do you have the funds in the account now? We never heard anything else about it...no fees.

Any updates on this situation? I am so sorry for you. You must be stressing like crazy!! I am sure it will all work out in the end. Hang in there!
-
Thanks, I will. I did call about a month ago and they gave me a receipt number. Will defo call again and pester for an NOA.

We applied about the same time (see signature) to VSC and didn't get a receipt or NOA yet...

Major pain in the butt!!

Thanks for setting my mind at ease. Nice to hear from a fellow US/Scot couple!

OK. So I filed the I-751 10 days before GC expired(12/20). The info line gave me the receipt number and tells me I should receive NOA soon to extend status - they may have even told me it has been sent. BTW, online case status does not recognize receipt number. Does this mean that I am not authorized to work until I receive the NOA, or since I know they have begun processing, am I ok? What do I do?

Ameriscot filed VSC 12/12/06 (no NOA yet)
I'm in for a little bit of a wait!

Woo - hoo! Check was presented again today and cleared. Guess this means we are in the clear! Now just the little issue of the fee change to deal with...
-
I am in the same boat with you guys. I filed the I-751 with the old form and $205 even though I printed it out v. recently. I spoke with an immigration officer who told me my petition was being processed and not to worry. They said also that it would be possible to pay the additional $70 at the biometrics appointment.
I also had to deal with the additional problem that my $205 check bounced. I am praying it is re-submitted automatically at the bank. Typical! It's only the 2nd time in my life I've bounced a check, and it is all because I delayed a few hours in transferring $. Just my luck!!!!

Update with my situation:
I called the 1 800 number today and spoke with an immigration officer who told me that my NOA has been issued. Not the response I was expecting!
Funnily, she had no information on the fee change..turns out they're late in updating their records too!!
She told me that I will probably get a notice to pay the fee again (for the bounced check), but that it will not affect my petition filing date as they are already processing the application. Interestingly, she said that another option would be to pay the biometrics fee at the center when we get fingerprinted.
Here's hoping the above info is correct. I was about to "same day" fedex a new check and application for the hefty shipping fee of $173.
Thanks to those who comiserated with me!!

We are Scr#$d if they do not because then we are outside the 90 days. Will probably send of another complete petition tomorow with new form, copies of docs and new chq.
Any thoughts from others?

Thanks for the reply! And my heart palpitations have subsided (slightly). What about the part that says that the bounced check renders the petition invalid?

Hi, All.
Hopefully someone can give me some advice. Our last date for removing conditions is Dec 20. We sent off our petition and it arrived at the Service Center (Vermont) on Dec 12. Now we have noticed that we wrote the check for the wrong amount ($205 instead of $275) and now the check bounced!!! There is enough cash in our account now and we are hoping there will be a second presentation.
Have we screwed up royally?? Do we send off a new petition fedex tomorrow with a new check?
Anyone?

Hubbie and I were married Aug '04 and we got the green card Dec '04 (speedy!). Will be filing to lift the conditions in September - hurrah!!
I have been checking in on visajourney every so often. Such a wonderful resource!

Definitely better to be safe than sorry. No reason they could complain about redacting account numbers...
