ya, that is totally true. Here in Southern Ca, a lot of college graduates are struggling to have decent jobs. My husband has a decent job, but his job hunting is being not good. He wants to change his job because he already had enough experience at his company, but nop.
For me, I am not expecting to have a wonderful job even though I have a BA from American university. I just do not want to miss this up coming holiday season. I do not care if it is temporary or what. I need some income. Otherwise, we will be in debt and debt. It is so bad.

Are there people who got EAD, AP, AOS, any other kinds of visa without getting any e-mail notice?
I have never received any update e-mail or anything. Even my K1 visa status still says pending.
And I recently changed my password twice, but I did not receive any e-mail about changes.
Is it common?
It seems that a lot of people got e-mail notice.
I have kept checking.. Nothing good so far.
I wish I could find EAD or AP in my mail box today.
It is already October, and the holiday season is coming. And I have no idea when I can get a job.
-
ya, I am so tired of waiting. I understand that USCIS received a lot of applications and they are working on them.
But, you know, all of us paid so much money and why does it take so long for them to just issue working permit? Some folks can get easily at the airport. I totally agree with that they are very carefully about AOS. Ok, but without work permission, I cannot get a license, I cannot work, I cannot even live normally in this economy. My husband is so concerned about it, too.
-
Gosh! I envy you guys. I have no good news. I have no idea what's going.
It is insane.
-
Great news VJers - My husband's EAD and AP was approved today!!! God is so good!!!
We hope to get it in the mail soon since he has a job interview this morning!!
Congratulation! Please update your timeline.

Same here. I cannot drive. I went to DMV. They said no. Since I came here with K1 and has only three months to expire. They cannot let people take any exams unless people have some evidence that they can stay in the US legally for at least year. So it sucks. I went there and paid $23 and got a temporary ID. But, it was expired when my k1 visa was expired.
I kept calling USCIS and they are just so slow.
It frustrates so much. I cannot even think straight. I hate to see this much gap among July filers. There are July filers who filed before me who have not got their EADs.
What is going on?
Not only me. My husband is also so frustrated because the economy is so screwed up that it is just so hard for him to feed me and take care of everything.
-
Hey, I called up USCIS right now. A pretty nice lady picked up the phone. OK, on the website, they are now processing July 31st application. So, I told that to the lady. She said people who are waiting over 70days should call up and do service request. I have to wait for three more days to do so. And she said it depends on the officers. But, we should be approved soon. Again, I have no RFE.
-
Don't send anything original because they might keep them.
Well, for the passport stamps, I sent both all the copies of old one and new one.
and if your passport is about to expire, you can renew as soon as possible because they usually do not give a visa if your passport will expire within 6 months.
-
I just called USCIS. The lady was so sweet and nice and she looked up my case for me. She said my case has no RFE and she said if my case has not been approved within 70-75 days, I am allowed to call them and request for service.
So they can take a look at my case.
So if you are waiting for over 80days, definitely call them.
I had no idea how to reach the customer service, so I just went to the address change and went to customer service. I just said oh sorry, I did not know. The lady said that's ok.
-
Hi, How are you? I wonder how long it took for you to get EAD?
-
ummm,
I feel the same. A lot of July filers now have EAD. I hope they are not forgetting me. I have this weird feeling.
I hope that someone is looking at my file NOW!
-
Congratulation! AHhhh I want mine, too. I need to get ready for the interview on this weekend. So I wanna have EAD now!
-
Same here. Something good seems to happen tomorrow. I just feel like it
-
Same here. I am so bored already. I have no EAD and no job. Insane.
I have been waiting for ead for over 2 months now. No updates. No nothing.

Congratulation!

I do not have the fax anymore. But, I just asked my mom to send me the bank statement from Japan.
And also I still have my old passport. and a lot of letters from my husband which were sent to me in Japan.
-
Now I am really worried. One of visa journey members got RFE about J1 2 years HRR. He came to the US with K1 visa. Ok, first of all, you cannot get K1 visa unless you filled out 2 years HRR.
I was an exchange student and was subject of 2 years HRR. (my program was from 2000-2001)
After I finished my program, I returned to Japan for 9 months to graduate my high school. After that, I applied for F1 visa. Yep, I got F1. During my F 1 visa, I returned to Japan after semester to visit my family.
And after I graduated from my university, I went back to Japan again from I came back in sept 2006 to recently with K1 visa(06/19).
I was clearly told by a US council that I would not get K1 visa until I complete 2 years HRR which I did. So I got K1.
Since 2001, obviously I was in Japan for over 2 years. and I even faxed the US embassy in Tokyo to ask if I met the requirement or not. The answer was yes. As long as I total all the time I spent in Japan after J1 is over 2 years, I should be fine.
Did anyone get RFE or a problem about 2 years HRR after applying for AOS?
I included all the copies of previous visa, passport stamps. I think that passport stamps can be the primary evidence. Do you think so?
-
Did you include your passport stamps? It can be proof that you were physically in your country. It does not matter if you worked there or not. I guess that the passport stamp can be the primary evidence.
If you just included your biographical page, you might wanna send them your passport stamps.
I included all of them.
And also you came here with K1right?
You cannot get K1 unless you complete 2 years residence requirement. It is clearly stated on department of homeland security visa page.
I would print out that page and highlight and include that.
It is just so strange to me.
I was a J1 student from 2000-2001. After I got back to Japan, I stayed there for 9 months to complete my high school, and I got F1. After I graduated from American university, I went back to Japan. It was sep 2006.
I stayed there until June 2008. Almost year and 10 months. During my college years, I went back to Japan a lot and I even took one semester off. So everything added up made more than 2 years.
Please let me know. I am now worried.
-
I was in the US from 2000-2001 as a J1. And I was not asked to submit anything during k1 process. It is strange because you will not get K1 visa unless you complete the 2 years regulation thing.
After my J1, I came to the US as a F1 visa. But, after I finished my F1 visa, I returned to Japan. ummm it is just so strange.
I think you should be fine as long as you turned it your passport stamps. Did you include your passport stamps?
-
You are not the only one. I have no update.
-
I can totally understand that. The officer at the local USCIS told me that I should get mine within 30 days. Oh great! I have been waiting for more than 5 weeks since biometric. and it is insane that I cannot even apply for a job because they ask me to show the card.
-
Any updates anyone? I have no updates. And it pisses me off to see that they do not process based on the received date.
-
I totally understand your frustration! My ID is already expired and I cannot even buy a wine
and no matter where I go, now I have carry my passport. It is crazy.
We filed at the same time, so we should get approved soon. Oh my K1 took so long. It took over 7 months to get noa2. It was out of processing time. That's why I was hoping that this time I should get approved soon.

Congratulation everyone!
ha, I called up USCIS. Nop, I have no hold or RFE. The lady asked me if I wanted to do service request. I told her that I will call her back again.
