Error fixed.

Hi, guys, Yesterday I got a mail from USCIS saying that the Removal of my Conditional basis of my Permanent Resident status has been approved. They told me I will get my new green card within 60 days, but today I got another mail again, and guess what? I got my official 10 yrs. green card... Thank you USCIS for the quick processing of my resident status.

Last Tuesday I sent my I-751 Packet and just check few minutes ago from USPS via Tracking/Confirmation, so happy they received my packet already. Hi! My K1 visa has recently been approved, and I'm arriving in Chicago on Nov. 24. We'd like to get married asap (within 1-2 weeks) so we originally planned on getting a civil ceremony without guests, and just have a bigger celebration on our second wedding, which would be in the (Catholic) church. I have read on VJ and personally heard from some people that church weddings take a lot of time, especially that churches need to be booked at least 6 months before the wedding. Obviously, we do not have that option under the K1 visa.

BUT today, a fellow K1 holder emailed me that they got married in a military base chapel in Seattle on 10-10-10, and it only took them 2 weeks to prepare for everything! No guests, as well, but at least they were married by a priest. I'm kind of a religious nut and would also want to be married in a church rather than in a civil court, IF it's possible anyway. My friend and her husband aren't in the military. I asked her if we could do the same in Indiana or Illinois, but she said that she doesn't know, because they were given less restrictions and had a stress-free wedding preparation because they were married on 10-10-10, and the chapel had some sort of "promo offer" and they were open for 2 weeks near that date. They're so lucky! Plus, she said the requirements might really depend on the state AND the chapel/chaplain.

Does anyone have ideas on this military church wedding? Or does anyone have ideas on the possibility of having a QUICK catholic wedding other than in the military base chapel? No guests, no flashy clothes and music and decors... just us being wed by a priest. Please share.

We got married in the Catholic church here in USA. I am K-1 too like u . When I arrived here my husband already consulted the parist priest 6 months before I arrived. It took us 1 1/2 months in our wedding preparation, that`s included our pre-cana and NFP seminar. We are so lucky and grateful to our parish priest, because until now that priest become our spiritual director as we journey in our married life. Each catholic church varies , it depends on the diocese. Maybe if you really want to get married in the Catholic church, your fiance can still try calling catholic churches in his area, who knows you might still be accepted . I just wanna share that this Christmas is my happy , sad and memorable one ... Memorable? it`s because , this month of December 2009, brings a lot of sadness and happiness with me. This month where also the month we remember my dad`s death anniversary; and the first time I will no longer see my mom, and its the first time I totally loss my parents that I can call my own. I am still in the process of recovering from my mom`s loss, since my mom passed away last May. I missed the every Christmas and New Year we celebrate the season as family. It`s the year that my sister and I moved to 2 different countries. It`s the year that my sister and my brother in-law separated and will file for annulment soon because they`re not getting along well. It`s the Christmas, that my brother`s marriage is shaky and his problem makes my problem too .But in a long run, all this longingness, worries and sadness from my family were still a blessings it makes me more prayerful and rely in God`s providence and it makes me more family oriented . Somehow, this experienced makes me tough to face the rigors of life

After all I have gone through I still thanked God because He gave me a loving husband who`s always with me everytime I feel sad, and who`s always with me in my times of grief, who have been my guide, my clown everytime I feel sad, my partner , my bestfriend and my love. I loss one important person in my life but He prepared one person(my husband)who will take away my sorrows...In everything I still count all my blessings this Christmas...

Hi, you can use that confirmation code if u want to have ur medical soon in case you don`t have your appointment letter yet. That will allow you to have have medical in SLEC, just bring your NVC letter,NOA2(Notice of Approval) and prepare your medical fees and 2x2 pics. Usually US Embassy send confirmation code and Email Confirmation directly to your email if you provided your email address, if you have that in your inbox print a copy of it directly to the printer, do not copy paste it, they are particular to the genuity of the email, it should have headings, you can use that as suppliment to the Appointment letter in case you dont have it yet.

So I'm a Christian and my bride to be is Catholic. She wants to be married in a Catholic chapel in the US which is perfectly fine with me.

I'd assumed that it would be easy to find a Cathlolic chapel in a nice city. I had the idea we would take a short trip to Colorado or some place nice, meet family there for the weekend and have our service in the Catholic chapel.

Now that I start looking for places I see it's not as easy as all that. The several Catholic chapels I looked at that do weddings both in Colorado and California have all kinds of requirements and restrictions. Not like a Christian wedding.

Some of them require you to be a member of the local parish or bring your own priest with you ! Some of them had other requirements like if I am a Christian to show a baptism certificate. I've been baptised at least 3 times in my life but don't know if I have a paper certificate. Some of them required a letter from your local priest. One Catholic chapel required attending a marriage seminar first. All of them I think required 6 months advanced notice, which isn't possible to know the date for me yet.

Well after everything else we go through I actually thought arranging a wedding in a Catholic chapel would be one of the easy parts.

I'd like to get married in a Catholic chapel some time after my wife to be gets here next year...

Anyone gone through this before and have any suggestions on making that part simpler for a Catholic wedding in the USA ?

Hi , I just wanna share our stories, my husband and I, married in the Catholic Parish here in our place in MI, my husband is not a Catholic, he is protestant/Christian. I didn`t give up my religion when he was still courting me, my husband knew that I am a devout Catholic, and I told him if u can`t marry me in the Catholic church, I guess we are not meant to be, that drives him to keep on looking different Catholic churches when he already filed for my petition.Even I told him to marry me in Catholic church, I did n`t insist him to be converted all I want is our wedding should take place in the Catholic Church.He can still go in his religion if he wants.

I remember we don`t have our NOA2 that time, he keep on calling Catholic churches here, but some of the Catholic church said that " they can`t marry us , he has to to be converted first in the Catholic faith, and he has to undergo 6 months of catechesis and be baptized after. That can`t be because we only have 90 days to get married. . He did`nt give up searching churches here and he finally found one , a catholic church here, just 10 mins away from our house, he did all the inquries and we were accepted in the church, the pastor was touch by my husband stories telling him that he is not Catholic but we want to get married in Catholic church because of me, he told the priest that I am still in the Phils that time, since then he often communicating with the priest . I was still in the Philippines he already send me Marriage Application to fill up from the Parish, and I included that in my interview in USEM.

When I arrived here, just a day after , we set appoitnment with the priest. We were told that details of our wedding. We undergo, Marriage is a Decision Seminar, Marriage Counselling, Natural Family Planning, and we have 3 Sundays for wedding announcement inside the mass, it is telling the public that he is free to marry me, making sure there is no objection but he was not forced to be converted in the Catholic Faith. During the wedding ceremony the Priest just told my husband during in the communion part in our wedding, he can`t give him the holy bread and wine because he is not a Catholic he will just cross his 2 arms infront of his chest , as reverence to the sacred hosts.

Since we get married in the Catholic church, my husband always go with me to Sunday mass in the church we married, he can`t still receive communion because he is not converted yet. But just last Sunday he undergo the RCIA CLASS , that is the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, I am so happy that finally he will be converting in Roman Catholic Faith and the Priest who marry us was overwhelming that I influenced him to be converted. I knew that God touched his heart to be Catholic , I am just instument, I am sure this wil be our guiding light to a successful married life....

my sister died today, she was married for 30 months and her husband is from ireland. his greencard expires in may 2010 and he has to apply for his new green card in december 2009.... with his wife , my sister dying what can he do to have the new green card issued and not have to be told he has to leave the united states and return to ireland...advice are truly appreciated,tnx..
