  1. We might have just been lucky, but my wife got her k3 visa in 4 months from sending the initial i-129f. But I feel that since I stayed in Thailand for about 9 months with her that it helped them make an easy decision that we had a real relationship.

I have read in this forum that many interviewer ask "How many times has your fiance visited you?" I have only visited my fiance once and was wondering if this could be a problem? I received NOA1 in September and hope to see NOA2 by February.

    Thanks

    Tim

  2. I-134 is required (signed and notarized before) at the time of interview for a K3/K1 visa (I-129F route).

I-864 is sent to USCIS before the interview for a CR1 (I-130 route).

    hello

my fiance called uscis to ask about sponser form she need and the girl there said it will be i-864 and they will send it later

and u here said it will be i-134

    whats the truth?

  3. Do you actually believe this is what he was told by immigration officials ? I find it very hard to believe.....

    <http://www.visajourney.com/news/2008/09/14/bride-to-miss-wedding-due-to-us-visa-rules/>

Go to your local USCIS office and ask what you need to do to marry someone from canada or someone on a VWP many people are told this information. so no its not hard to belive that this person was given this information by immigration officials.

Well, that depends on their idea of "U.S. Immigration Officials." Since it's unclear as to who they really asked, they could have made it up in their heads that they spoke to "officials."

So it is hard to believe this story but not so much that a real official told them to do it the way they did.

  4. Hi,

I just ran across your site yesterday by accident when i was looking for some information on the K1 and I am so happy I did!

I was actually very sad at the time because I had checked on the status of our I-129F on the USCIS web site and it showed the CSC was still working on February forms......huh

Then I looked at some of your members posts on the timeline and it showed many who had filed in April and May 08 and already received their NA02 or 2nd letter from CSC.

WOW ....We are both happy with the news that we may be closer than we thought!

However I have a few questions that i hope someone can answer. Thanks in Advance !

    1) Why does the USCIS web site show that the CSC is working on February 08 apps and very far behind when there are several Visa Journey member cases that an NA02 has already been received from a I-129F app submitted in April and even May 2008 ?

    2) Also i noticed that the average processing time from when the Embassy in Vietnam sends out the Fiance letter till an interview is 90 days. Is this because the list that they send to the Fiance has many many things needed to be accomplished before and appointment for interview can be made?

The reason being we have been trying to get many of these items done ahead of time while we are waiting in hopes that we will be ahead of the game when she does get the letter from the Embassy in Vietnam.

Or is it the Embassy in Vietnam is just very slow about their process?

    Thank You,

    Kevin & Lisa

P.S. We had purchased a book initially to help guide us through the process and while I am grateful for all of that information i wish i would have known about Visa Journey when we started the K1 process in April of 2008.

From what I've seen so far the Visa Journey site it very crisp with to the point information.

And with interaction available from a community of like persons trying to achieve a similar goal it has to be a Win Win!!!

It seems everyones case can be very different. I expected it to take much longer but now we are almost finished at under the average time (we started in June 2008 and will finish in a few weeks). Most of the wait times displayed on all the embassy/immigration websites are estimated at longer than it normally takes.

VisaJourney has also been the most helpful throughout the process for us! We didn't use any services/lawyers, and all the example forms on VJ were all we needed.

  5. Replying to my own topic...nice...

I see people with timelines for CR1 with entries like:

    Packet 3 received

    Packet 3 sent

That's after the embassy receives the papers. For AP processing, what is Packet 3?

After the embassy gets paperwork from NVC, they send Packet 3 to the beneficiary. You return Packet 3, get Packet 4 with an interview date and some more instructions (ie: medical).

  6. Congratulations! It seems that most take about 2-3 months after approval.

    Hello everybody

    very very good news

I just check my case status online and I found that both I-130 & I-129F approved on 1st August 2008. I am soooo happy.
