  2. Greetings All,

I'm more than delightful to crack the best news that I also took the Oath of Allegiance. I am truly proud to became USC :dancing::idea::dance:

Allow me to express my gratitude to lovely members of V.J who have made the immigration journey much easier & knowledgeable by sharing their experience to guide the rest.

    Stay Blessed.

For more info about my journey, please read below the updated timeline.

  3. While I was reading other fellow blogs, it reminded me to share that once upon a time my stay was prolonged for the 5 months and 2 weeks out of USA; the total days were 167 not exact 180 hoping it doesn’t disqualify me for USC . . . correct? As we all know that USCIS cares to count 6 months and longer trips . . . where do I stand?

  5. Hello - I have heard that they never on-the-spot approve N-400 applications at the interview for people who are applying based on marriage / applying after 3 years and that it is standard for them to say it is going on for review.... But I'm not 100%...that is just what I have heard...

When did you have your interview? And did you check on your online status...what does that say?

Hopefully you hear something soon ...

    Greetings,

Thank you for your prompt and courteous attention on my posted query.

    • My Interview took place on May 5th 2014 (passed civic test- handed over N-652 saying decision can't yet to be made)
    • Status Never Changed - Still reflects old status that we sent you Interview notice in Mar 2014!

    Regards

  6. Just being curious that on my interview I was asked to repeat the Oath of Allegiance after IO:

    1. Support the Constitution;
    2. Renounce and abjure absolutely and entirely all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which the applicant was before a subject or citizen;
    3. Support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic;
    4. Bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and
    5. A. Bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; or
      B. Perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; or
      C. Perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law.

Is this something that all of you went thru? IO knew that he’s not recommending me for the Oath Ceremony yet rewarded my file for “Supervisor Review” why would he still conduct such Oath…? Should I take that as an initial approval from his end? Sorry folks I’m trying to patch the clues to make my self little comfortable.

Should I take that incidence as an initial approval from his end? Is it a sound promising?

    Appreciated.

  9. Hi LeeLee 1986!

My interview went very smoothly. I got approved right there and then. My IO was chatty and super nice. She apologized for the delay in processing my application too! I got notified today that I have been scheduled for oath ceremony which will most likely be after memorial day.

They don't schedule oaths same day. One word of advice - make sure you get there at least an hour before your scheduled time. The security line is very long.

I applied based on the 5 year residency rule so I only had to bring old and new passports, state id (driver's license) but to be on the safe side I also brought tax return transcripts (which you can download from IRS.gov). I will give you a few more details tonight (I am rushing for a flight right now :)) I am sure your interview will go very very smoothly!

    AOA,

I wish ya a warm congratulation on your achievement. Just being curios had you applied on 5 year’s ongoing marriage?

    Thanks

Have a safe and pleasant flight back home :)

  10. Please allow me to share my status update with the help of the Senator.

Actual Response from USCIS to the Senator

Thank you for your May 13, 2014, letter on behalf of your constituent, XXXXXX, regarding his pending N-400 application.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records confirm that Mr. XXXX case is pending at this time. USCIS is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in a timely and efficient manner while also ensuring public safety, national security and compliance with all relevant directives. The Officer is given 120 days from the date of the interview to process the N-400 application. In order to have the case expedite, please review criteria for expediting.

We hope this information is helpful. If we may be of further assistance, please let us know.

    Sincerely,

    Field Office Director

    Any recommendation? what's next?

    Thanks

  11. So you sent a letter to your senator immediately after your interview? It looks like you have 120 days to wait for them to make a decision. Unless you have some compelling reason to ask for an expedite - do you think you qualify for one of the reasons they give?

    Hey Birdo,

I wish I could met with their “expedite criteria” unfortunately none of them works in my favor. Yeah I’m in touch with the congress person since then when USCIS had cancelled my last interview for an unknown reason. Luckily with the help of US Rep I was rescheduled briskly :) and upon their req, I kept them updated in regards of my interview experience . . .

Thanks for taking your time out to post a feedback because what I notice that some dear members of VJ who are done with their USC journey, apparently they don’t bother communicating with leftover poor fellows.

    God Bless America :)

  12. The USCIS gave your senator the standard "pending' status. All you can do at this time is wait. At least you know that they have a deadline of adjudicating your case in 120 days or less. Sit tight and try to forget about it for now while you go on with your everyday life. I wish you a speedy decision as soon as possible!

Your positive feedback gave a good night sleep :) awaiting for more . . .

  13. Good Evening,

Allow me to share my status update with the help of the Senator. I'm truly their grateful for a prompt action.

Status update from the Senator Office:

Below is the response our office received from USCIS. Your case is still pending at this time, and the officer does have 120 days to review the file and either make a decision or take further action. USCIS does have a process for expediting cases, but in order to qualify it does have to meet the expedite criteria. I have included the criteria below. Please review it and if you believe your case falls under the criteria, let me know. If not, feel free to follow-up with me after the 120 days if you still have not received a decision on your case.

All expedite requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and are granted at the discretion of the Director. The burden is on the applicant or petitioner to demonstrate that one or more of the expedite criteria have been met. The criteria are as follows:

    · Severe financial loss to company or individual

    · Extreme emergent situation

    · Humanitarian situation

    · Nonprofit status of requesting organization in furtherance of the cultural and social interests of the United States

    · Department of Defense or National Interest Situation (Note: Request must come from official United States Government entity and state that delay will be detrimental to our Government)

    · USCIS error

    · Compelling interest of USCIS

  15. Hi Nounou! Unfortunately, no updates as of yet. The Immigration Officer that interviewed my husband said that it would probably be a few weeks before we hear anything and we will receive a written notice in the mail. I keep checking the online case status updates but nothing's changed. Just keeping my fingers crossed that we don't have to wait too much longer. I just want to be finished with this whole visa journey already. We've been on this journey non-stop since mid-2008 and we are t-i-r-e-d!!! :clock:

Congratulation !!!! I’m still shuffling on a same boat
