Well I was just asking for options, not something that we would do

Hey :

I have a query. Im a US citizen and wish to petition my siblings. I have 2 brothers who are above 21 , so I guess it is reasonable for me to file in F4 category, but my youngest brother is 20 yrs and 3 months. Now if my father visits me and then do AOS ( guess it takes 4 months), you think he can apply for my brother in F2 category just in time before he turns 21 in sept 2012 or should I not bother and apply in F4 category for him too.

Hi, just to update that I applied the passport on 12/2/2011 by regular mail and received my passport on 12/10/2011. Kindly update. Now waiting for CON and Passport card. Its gud I ddnt apply expedite service as I got my passport thru regular mail in about 1 week...................

Anything is possible, be persisitent and polite. When I was interviewing, I had a lady whose file was not there and she had to reschedule. She talked to the Oficer, took his phone number/card and made sure that she would be in contact and have an interview date once files arrives at the office. There was also a discussion of paying for UPS but I guess officer said that they would take care of that. Hope it helps.

I guess First to become a citizen from September filers.............took me 3 months and exact 3yrs from AOS date to Naturalise , what a relief, now going to celebrate,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Just to let you all know, I naturalised as of today. My interview was at Mt. Laurel NJ at 9.30 am, arrived 30 mins before time, sat and watched people going in and out. One candidate was returned as her A file was not there. I was called at exactly 9.30 am by an elder officer. He asked for my passport, green card, ss and ID, verified info on N 400 line by line. Asked about a traffic ticket I mentioned, did not ask for court documents or receipt. Then went on with Yes/No Questions.

He then asked me to read, Who lives in White House, and made me write, The President lives in White House. Civic Questions were

Governor of the State

Two National Holidays

Statue of Liberty

What movement ended racial discrimination

Who is Father of Country

State that borders Canada

Then he picked up the red stamp and said Congrats you are Approved. He went and checked with his supervisor, if I can take the same day oath as today was exactly 3 yrs of my Green Card based on marriage. Then he came and said you can come in for oath at 3.15 pm.

Arrived for oath at 3.00 pm , those who were taking oath were called in first, families followed. They took our green card and called one by one to sign the CON. Then they gave us a packet which had oath, election, passport info and nice cover for our certificates. We saw a video , then the Director came and called out the names of the countries whose nationals were in the ceremony. Then he administered oath and allegiance to the flag. He then showed welcome address by Obama and a very moving song. At the end he handed over the Certiciates and a small US flag, family took lots of photographs and then he started answering questions form the applicants. We asked him a lot of questions. Over all it was a very nice and moving ceremony, definitely never to forget. It took me 3 months from submitting N400 to the Naturalisation Ceremony. I'm done guyz, this would not have been so easy without you.

Spouses are not supposed to attend. Nor does it say on the interview letter to bring spouse to the interview unlike AOS Interview letter. Would be going myself.

I missed the part where they ask you to bring Spouse ID card. I know you have to bring Spouse BirthCertificate, passport, naturalisation cert. but do you have to bring spouse ID also???

Received my interview letter. Interview is Dec1st exactly the same date as my green card 3 yrs ago. If I pass the interview, u guyz think I'll qualify for same day oath or would I need to wait for 3 yrs plus 1 day. I'm so surprised!!!

So I receive my Interview letter today and the date of my interview is exactly the same as my green card 3 yrs ago. I know that office does same day oath. U guyz think I d be able to take oath that day if all goes well. It would be exactly three years. Any takers?

Can someone kindly update my timeline. Check Cashed 09/12. NOA 9/9. FP 10/28, early finger print done today 10/20. Wait begins..........

Called USCIS found out they mailed my FP notice on 10/05. Was advised to update my case status on line. I thought filling in the electronic notification form with N400 would give me automatic updates, but I guess that was only with the receipt NOA. Anyways would await my FP notice.

Nycguy nice to know Ur trick worked. Hopefully my interview comes after my 3 yr green card anniversary otherwise My oath would be postponed.

Hi All:

I will be applying for Citizenship shortly but have a few questions after going through the N400 form.

1) Question about Race. I'm from Pakistan. So would that make me Asian? I cant see any other box to click which says Others.

2) Im applying on the basis of marriage. And the question about Trips outside USA in the past 5 yrs. Should I just calculate it as 3 yrs ???

3) Affiliations. I belong to a few Medical associations. Should I mention them with Affiliations.

4) I got a ticket for illegal U Turn, went to court and paid the fine for it. Now on the question about
