must have asked a very difficult and confusing question
-
I am still confused with this whole process. I thought we would send i864 first, then send DS230. NVC sent me a checklist that we are missing DS230. I can have the applicant start working on DS230 so we can mail that in but does he have to obtain police report now as part of the civil document or does he try to obtain police report later when consulate calls him for the interview
Please help!!!!!!!!!

My mother has applied for her brother. she is also the agent.
I am the household member and i have submitted 864a. they sent a checklist back saying that I need to submit 864 also (why?). they also want proof of my citizenship, which i can mail them.
They also ask for DS230. DS230 should be completed by the applicant right? and they also need to gather the civil documents. do i gather that information and send them back along with another 864? I tried to call NVC a lot but can't seem to get thru. if you guys can please tell me the correct order, i would really appreciate it. Thanks

To be safe, I think you should get additional sponsors/co-sponsors. But you still need to submit your IRS papers the past 3 years, being the petitioner.
I believe you only have to submit previous year tax returns. other 2 years you can just put the amount on the form
and you should definitely find someone to co sign with you. u have to be 125% the poverty line.

anuj when was your case approved? lets say if it was approved in 2007 and you applied in 2002, you can substract 5 years from your current age 23-5= 18 so you could be eligible. you can also call NVC with the case # and petitioner's DOB and they can also tell you over the phone

wow that's great news. I thought it's more of a 6 years waiting.Thank you for the reply. My mom will be here in Dec and we will file petition for my little sister. Hope she'll be here before she turns 21.
i have the question regarding kid over 21. you said he is waiting for the interview? so does it mean it would take about 4 years for kids over 21 when GC holder applies for them?
-
Thanks for the reply. I know there is CSPA. I couldn't find anything regarding a child who is over the age limit but mentally retarted. is there any information available online for that? I know there are exams that can prove the mental age but I just wanted more information regarding the whole process we will soon have to face.

One of my cousin does not qualify because of his age. My mother had applied for her sister via I130. Now we are in the middle of paying AOS fees and his name does not show up because of his age. But this cousin of mine is dependent on his parents. Do you know if they would grant him visa? what is the process, who should we contact? NVC or let the consulate know when they contact for interview etc? please help!
-
yes, they are from pakistan too
they would like to spend some time here with her and sometime back in pakistan. I know they would have to at least come here once a year. i feel like the brother can come sooner if the parents apply after greencard
-
What will make the kid get here faster?
My USC applying for her unmarried brother (20 years old)?
or
MY USC wife applying for her parents, once parents come here and get the greencard, then applying for his unmarried son.
please assist

I have a question if someone can help me
My cousin is about 26 years 3 months. The difference between petition priority date and approved is 6 years. that means her eligibility date would be 20 years 3 months. we have just got the Agent 3032 application and it seems like case is moving a long. does anyone know if she would be eligible? please help!!
-
ouch. try another country lol. sorry but i am not really sure. looks doubtful

My mother has filed for my uncle. He moved to dubai for work about a few years back. We recently did the DS3032 Agent form. Does anyone know if he will have to go back to Pakistan for his upcoming interview or can that be taken care of in UAE?
We have notified NVC of the address change
-
You will list the family members on the I130 form on the 2nd page.
-
Thanks for the reply guys.
I get the part that she has to do one as well. But I thought I would do 864 and not the 864a. why can't they just keep it simple
-
I will keep it simple. I hope I get my answer.
My mother has applied for my uncle (I130). We got the bill to pay $88 for Affidavit of Support. I have paid it. Now we have to fill out i864 form.
She does not work and I will be submitting the i864.
question
She needs to do this form as well? I think so
Do I do a regular i864 or i864a? Do we both do i864 each?
She also lives with me.

Yes, you can be his agent. Also do not put DUBAI...it will be more delay..just live as it is ISLAMABAD.
It will take about 1 year for him to get an interview date US embassey in ISLAMABAD.
Thanks for the reply. i can put myself as an agent then. also he has a different address in pakistan and we need to correct that anyway. should i enter the new address for pakistan or his current dubai address. i don't want to hide anything from them so we don't run into any issues in the future

Hi
I would greatly appreciate if anyone can answer these questions for me:
My mother submitted I 130 for her brother in nov 2001. We just got a letter to pay $88 AOS fees. also notify if his address has been changed. also notify if we want to list an agent/attorney, who will get the paperwork for the case
1. I want to know can I submit my name to be an agent so I can get all the paperwork and see if they need something. I am basically the nephew.
2. My uncle has been living and working in Dubai for the last few years. Should we mention his new address in Dubai or continue to deal with the consulate in Islamabad?
3. any idea how long it will take from now on to get him in the US?
Thanks so much

My wife wanted to fill out the I130 application for her siblings but one of her friends is now telling her that you can't do that anymore. the only option is to apply for parents, once they become citizen, they would be able to apply for their children. is that something new?
Are we still able to go through I130 for siblings immigration? if its still the case, is it usually taking people about 12 to 14 years to get here? any information would be very much appreciated
-
what are you guys talking about? 20+ years? never heard of that before
i'd say it usually takes 10 to 13 years, never 20+ thats crazy and hope not correct
-
he has applied for all of his brothers sisters n so has his wife. this include all the children as well. i m sure he makes enough.
ok my dad told me he said theese changes could be happening in the next changes. hope he is right
-
Your family friend can be a fountain of misinformation.
yeah but he had applied for 35 of his family members and half of them are already here. it seems like he knows about the happenings of immigration process but i guess i would have to verify myself.
-
I was recently told by a family friend that now if you have submitted I130 for your brother/sister, there is no longer an age limit for unmarried children that comes with them. I believe the limit was 21 for unmarried children. is it true?
Also he said that they have increased the visa number from 60,000 to 90,000. is it true?
Please help. we have submitted the papers in November, 01 and are just waiting. I also don't understand why the processing time says 2007 yet we have not gotten any response recently from embassy.
-
oh i didnt know that. so applying for AOS is the right thing to do while you are here on your K3 visa? how much is the fees for it and i think i read somewhere that it takes 3 months? does anyone know if he files for AOS, he will get greencard? or other forms also need to be submitted

My mother filled out the forms for her brother and his family. We recently submitted all the documents for their family and NVC tells us that everything is complete and we are just waiting for embassy to call them for the interview. Now he just became a father of his 2nd child. Does anyone know what paper to submit to include the 2nd child as well?? I don't really know the process for it. Please help
