  1. A bit of good news for everyone out there that gets the security check pending routine... next month it wont be a good excuse!

USCIS and the FBI announced a joint plan to eliminate the backlog of name checks pending with the FBI and established a series of milestones prioritizing work based on the age of the pending name check.   The FBI has already eliminated all name check cases pending more than four years.

By increasing staff, expanding resources, and applying new business processes, the goal is to complete 98 percent of all name checks within 30 days. USCIS and the FBI intend to resolve the remaining two percent, which represent the most difficult name checks and require additional time to complete, within 90 days or less.   The goal is to achieve and sustain these processing times by June 2009.

The joint plan will focus on resolving the oldest pending FBI name checks first. The target milestones for processing name checks are:

     Completion Goal

     Category

May 2008 -  Process all name checks pending more than three years

July 2008 -  Process all name checks pending more than two years

Nov 2008 -  Process all name checks pending more than one year

Feb 2009 - Process all name checks pending more than 180 days

June 2009 - Process 98 percent of all name checks within 30 days and process the remaining two percent within 90 days

  2. Get this..

I have been stuck in limbo like everyone here not even a touch since april. Calls are a total joke - So I started writing the ombudsman. Canned response were what I got. Then Service Request... same responses. So the first part of Dec I sent out a letter to the local Senator, an email to Ms. Barbara Q. Velarde - Chief of Service Center Operations (SCOPS), and a letter back to the ombudsman each containing the SR response and the last Omb response.

Within days the Senators office called to let me know USCISindicates I was stuck in security check. Then on the 24th I get a lame RFE. Seems they lost my BC and the photos I sent did not have captioning (date, location, etc) written on the back! So anyway I sent those out today (I was glad that i already had extra copies as recommended by the site!).....

So now we will see how long they can continue to stretch it out.. I wonder if it was the email to Chief of Service Center Operations (SCOPS) that did the trick?

  3. OK - So we have a listing of the members of the oversight committee along with a Washington address. I dont see a form letter posted. (hope someone will get that task completed - it should indicate out frustration that the web site tells us processing time is 6 months and after 8 they are still telling us that we cant file a service request). I looked at the spreadsheet and sorry to say i thought it was a bit of a joke - we have to include hundreds of entries to support our conclusions. I have one that shows K1 for Philippines for 2008 and it has 5 member past the 6 month mark - i could expand it for all of VSC.

So lets get some draft letters posted! Then we will instruct everyone where to send them!

Do we have Barbara Q. Velarde's USCIS address and email info?

  4. I can understand your frustration. I am is a similar position. I am sure there are any number of reasons for the process to take a longer time. and the CS personnel you get on the phone seem to be mindless robots with no additional information. According to what I have been able to find out you can do nothing until the processing date for VSC on the web site has passed your NOA1 date.. currently at 2 Jan 08. When that date is close or passed you March 18 date you will be able to call and initiate a service request. This usually causes some positive activity but I haven’t got there yet so I cant tell you what kind of information you me receive. I have also found the Ombudsman group that will also take a service request kind of activity (http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/structure/gc_1192724755499.shtm) - you must fill out a form 7001 and mail it in.

  5. I have tracked it online but all it says is pending and last touch 4 - 28. The automated tracking system talks about the I 797 [no mention of a C] I finally bit the bullet and called thru the change of address section - [my fiancees phone number changed] I was told we could get any thing changed at thios point until NOA2 when they sent the paperwork to Manila. She also told me I still had 2 months before they would get to applications with my date [what a crock!]

I did see another post from a couple who went thru the same kind of thing and they mentioned a service request. I didnt find anything on teh website so so I email teh site admin asking - How do I find out how to submit a service request? Also the email I have from when I registered indicates the ability to "contact us via the feedback link from our website". Is that the same as this address?

We will see what the response is......

  6. I am waiting on NOA2 from VSC. When I see things like:

Petitions with NOA1 dates as follows are currently being processed:

    I-129F for K1 Visa

    CSC - February 5, 2008

    VSC - April 1, 2008

    or

Avg. Days btw I-129F 1st NOA and 2nd NOA (Philippines): 53 days [for me so far - 120!]

or data from 5 other Philippine couples...

    I-129F Sent :...2008-02-15...2008-03-12...2008-03-15...2008-03-18...2008-03-21

Should I be concerned or contact someone? Still waiting........
