  1. Yes, if he got a new job, then a new I-864 would be the best idea. Also consider including any pay stubs he's gotten so far, as well as an employment letter if possible.

Do I need to give the previous pay stubs I submitted before or just the recent ones to update it? Do I need to resubmit the IRS tax transcripts too?

  2. Hi everyone. I am about to file an affidavit of support for my mom. Since I am only working part time and my husband is main bread winner of the family, I have to file the I-864A too. My husband is starting a new job on May 1 and he's only going to work with his present employer until the end of the month. Should I just continue filing it using his present job? I want to submit it right away because I want my mom to be here by August before I give birth. Thanks for your help.

  3. You should have answered "Yes" to both questions and that is because even a work visa is considered an immigration benefit. When you apply for any kind of status to USCIS you are really asking them to grant you a benefit.

So you should have answered yes. Now when you go to the interview you can tell the officer you made a mistake when completing the form and that you would like to make a correction. That is perfectly fine - part of the interview is to go thru the application you submitted and make corrections if corrections are needed - so no problem with that. If I were you and I had to answer "Yes" to both questions I would have an Immigration attorney come with me to the interview just in case

but that is up to you

Thanks for the reply. I guess it is too late now to contact a lawyer since my interview is this coming Tuesday. :( Prayers will work wonders.

  4. My interview is coming up in 4 days and of course I am having butterflies in my stomach right now. I know that during the interview, I might be asked questions that was on my N-400 application form. Anyway, to give you a background, I was charged with misrepresentation (for H1B working visa) before and overcame it with an approved waiver. There is a question in the form : "have you ever given false or misleading information to any US government official while applying for any immigration benefit or prevent deportation, exclusion or removal?" which I answered NO. Then the next question is "Have you ever lied to any US government official to gain entry or admission to the US? which I answered YES. My question is should I have answered YES too to the first question? The words "immigration benefit" is kinda confusing to me because I was on a work visa. If I should have answered yes to it, is there a way to change it during my interview when I am asked? Thanks so much. Your input is very much appreciated.

  5. This question my be asked before but I get paranoid. I'm just wondering if it is ok to just send Form 1040 (I did for the past 3 years), copies of bank statements, mortgages and birth cert. of children and NOT send the IRS transcripts since I don't have it? In the document checklist it says "Tax returns, bank accounts, leases, mortgages, birth cert of children, OR IRS certified copies of tax returns that you both filed for the past 3 years OR IRS tax return transcripts for the past 3 years." I'm thinking I have all the documents for the option 1 so is it ok? Thanks!

  6. Thank you so much for your reply. When we filed for our I-485 we just submitted the DS-3025 and didn't get any RFEs. Since I am going for an interview (and my case was kinda complicated), I guess I still have to see a civil surgeon for that. I have all the vaccines needed (and tetanus shot too). So I think the only thing I need is for the civil surgeon to "validate" my DS-3025 to get an I-693a. Am I understanding the procedure right?

  7. Hi everyone. I am scheduled to have my AOS interview on April 7. My question is, since I had my medical examination in the Philippines and had submitted everything to the immigration officer at my port of entry, what do I need to bring for my interview? When we filed for my I-485 we just submitted my vaccination worksheet DS 3025 and a copy from the Dept. of Health PA of my Tdap vaccination (the only thing I didn't have back home). We didn't get any RFEs. Now I am confused if I need to see a civil surgeon to get a I-693a? Thanks. Hope you can enlighten me on this.
