Since I haven't shared the joy yet, I had the interview on December 11 and got the visa! Now waiting for its delivery...

The question that bothers me is having a paper from tax authorities to present when leaving Ukraine. I know this topic has been discussed here, and from what I understand, I don't need to worry about any other papers, but the visa. However, while doing my medical, I saw an announcement on a board there, saying anyone permanently leaving Ukraine, needs this tax document saying you don't owe any taxes.

It is true at all? Someone who has recently left Ukraine for the US, please respond?! If it wasn't needed, what did you or your fiance/fiancee say at the passport control at the airport as your reason for going to the US??? I appreciate any help.

Is anyone else going for an interview on December 11th? Especially in Kyiv, Ukraine?

I just called the call center, and they confirmed the file was input yesterday. They wanted to schedule our interview on December 2nd. When I asked for a date in January when I will be there - I was told that January dates would not be filled until the end of December. GRRRRRR!!!!

did you schedule or not? the interview for the most part is anti-climatic.... if your paperwork is complete, the toughest part of the interview for Vika will be travelling to Kiev and getting into the consulate...

You are definitely da man! Although I think 2+ weeks and "up to two months" are technically the same timeline, you definitely fell closer to the mark. Believe me, I am happy to report same..

And no - I did not schedule our interview. I need an appointment after January 2, when I am in Kiev. They won't schedule that date until the latter part of December, according to the call center.

Maybe this is a stupid question. When we called NVC they didn't give us the KEV number. However, I know the packet reached the embassy yesterday, November 27. Could I contact them by e-mail and just tell them petitioner/beneficiery last names and be able to get an update on our file? It says on the website I need a KEV number to contact them, which I don't have

Aren't the translations only needed when the person is here in the USA and files for green card?. Unless the person was born in a different country from the interview right?

COPIES AND TRANSLATIONS When you arrive for the interview, you MUST present all the original documents accompanied by a photocopy and an English translation, which is produced by a certified translator. After the interview, all originals except police certificates and the medical examination report will be returned to you.

Thanks for all your help. I have downloaded the packet a long time ago. The only reason i was wondering about translation is because on the embassy site (Step 4) in the guide to fiancee visa processing it says "any document in a foreign language should be accompanied by a notarized/certified English translation".

I'm confused as to whether translations for birth certificate, police certificate and any other documents need to be notarized or can just have a stamp of the translating agency? There is a difference in cost and how much trouble to go to for the translations...

We are getting married in Kauai (Hawaii) and taking a week long honeymoon in Maui. Expensive, but its something we want to splurge on. We can't plan anything until we know when the interview will be though

As you know, our NOA2 was issued on November 13th as well. No touches after that either. I hope it was already forwarded on. Need to figure out when to start calling to get the KEV number

Hello, everyone. I have been pretty much behind the curtain as far as posting, but i had to share the good news. My fiance is still asleep so I had to share with someone that our petition was approved yesterday, November 13th ! I hope the rest of the journey is easier than the long wait that is finally over.
