  1. Cherel and I were waiting until after our wedding to apply for her SSN. We figured it would be easier than going back to the office to change to her married name.

Long story short... we did not get back to the office before her I-94 expired.

What's next people? What are our next steps? We have not filed the paperwork for AOS yet.

    Thanks

  2. Labor Unions and lazy American workers have destroyed the American car companies. Unfortunately the Japanese have started building many of their cars in America also and now the quality of those have started to slip as well. I had to buy a Camry Hybrid to get a Japanese car that was built in Japan.

  3. Hi to all members of VJ.. smile.gif

I am just very anxious about my coming medical examination although I don't know yet when will be the real date since we already got approved last 25 feb.. I am looking for some people that can give me answers about my worries in medical especially those Filipina that had same experienced I am having now.. I am really worried if having a history of tuberculosis will be caused of our problem with my fiancee during my medical examination soon.. We got all the supporting documents to prove that I am fine now..

Is this really enough for me to pass the medical examination on my X-rays?

In addition my fiance took a skin test last January this year and the result was NEGATIVE, do you think this will also help me pass my medical?

Please, I would love and very happy to hear from someone that will heartily give their advices and answers to my concern smile.gif

    sincerely,

    Beaumench

Supporting documents or not what really matters is the chest xray done at St Luke's. If your lungs have any scars from TB you will most likely have to undergo a sputum test. Cherel just went through all of that, and although she had note's from Dr's saying that she no longer had active TB she still needed to undergo the sputum test.

  4. So if you want to let it collapse, what about all the people who have their pensions invested with AIG. The AIG Annuity business is profitable and being run correctly and always has been.

As with any business there are profitable and unprofitable departments. In this case I am sure that there would be many buyers of this profitable portion of AIG's business.

  5. How about Bush? Would you consider him an ideologue? Or Rush Limbaugh? Sean Hannity? Ann Coulter?

Does not matter if Coulter, Hannity or Limbaugh are ideologues. They were never elected to lead this country.

Bush unfortunately wanted to knock off Saddam to avenge his father. That and advancing the the "white mans burden" trying to convert all those dirty muslims to Christianity.

It can be an ugly world we live in.

  6. There is no embassy pickup of Visas anymore. This changed when Air21 picked up the embassy's contract for deliveries. As far as changing the address for delivery purposes, I caution you. One of Cherel's friends on this website tried to do just that. She received the text from Air21 with her tracking # stating that they had her visa, this was 3 weeks ago. Her visa still has not been delivered and it is actually back at the embassy since it could not be delivered.

  7. Hi Everyone!!

I am flying my beloved out of Manila to San Francisco on March 12th.

Is anyone else also flying out at that time??

Maybe we can have a party at the airport.

    Phil

What flight are you both on? Cherel is on Philippine air flight PR104 departing Manila at 10:30 on the 12th. I'm not able to meet her until she gets to SFO.

  8. Call about 10 days early. It worked for Cherel and I.

You are supposed to be scheduled for an interview for about 3 days after your vaccinations. St Lukes gave Cherel an interview date at the embassy over 3 weeks after her vaccinations. I called the embassy and got them to move it to an earlier date.

    Good Luck

  9. There really is no true free market on a global scale anymore. You cannot level the playing field. All countries have their own standard of living, all have their own laws regarding livable wages, environmental impact, and job safety.

To create jobs in this environment you most certainly have to turn to a big government to do it. Makes me sad to admit it but it seems to be true. If we could take the pork out of the stimulus plan, (really do we need 50 million to go to the arts right now), we could get the government to work on some much needed infrastructure improvements. Bridges are in a huge state of disrepair, most of the highways are in need of widening and general repair work. Lets relax some of the environmental policies and start building and creating things. Did you know that the man made culverts on the side of every highway are protected as wetlands. It is tough for state governments to widen highways because of those "wetlands", never mind that the new highway will create more wetlands.

We could also focus on creating more jobs by making it easier for company to do business. There is a great wind farm being proposed off the coast of Massachusetts right now. Unfortunately it would be in a location that may disrupt Teddy Kennedy's favorite sailing location. Can't afford to tick off the old drunk so we have to wait for this stroke thing to finish him off so we can get started building it. Why do we need to put wind farms out to sea? Because the damn lawyers have found that they can sue owners and operators of wind turbines because the sight of the shadow of the whirring blades can maybe cause balance issues in people. Don't believe it? See http://www.windturbinesyndrome.com/ NIMBY or not in my back yard is a huge problem here. We could build more dams for hydroelectric power but nobody wants to live near one. We could build more refineries so that we could process the crude oil more efficiently but that could harm the environment and again nobody wants to live near one.

Unfortunately the United States is in a rough place right now. Due to our standard of living, due to special interest groups, lobbyists, and life long politicians, due to lawyers and greedy CEOs, we are going to have a hard time getting out of this mess. Imagine trying to build the Hoover dam in this day and age. Imagine trying to build the Eisenhower highway system in this day and age. Imagine being an inventor who comes up with a product that he wants to bring to market but can't due to liability issues. Or maybe he does bring it to market but the politicians and lawyers won't let anybody use the product on public land i.e. the Segway. The guy who invented the Segway is a genius. He has invented some products that could change the world but again lawyers, greedy Ceos, politicians and lobbyists keep real progress from happening. http://gizmodo.com/370698/colbert-first-vi...water-distiller http://www.newsweek.com/id/130735

So how do you stimulate jobs and a recovery. Take the money away from the bankers, lawyers, and politicians. Give it back to the people in the form of wider highways and cleaner energy. Give the money to inventors who BUILD products.

Ok so maybe I ranted a bit here, but I am in sales and this week I am finally feeling the effects of this economy.

  10. Since much of the United States is freezing tonight and we are once again having record levels of snow here in the NorthEast I can only hope that global warming will hurry up and get here. Global cooling in the 70's, Global warming in the 90's , now called climate change, always been called weather.... Humans have no real effect on the climate here on earth. Humans were not around during the ice age to cause those glaciers to retreat. Did you know that you can see the effects of the glaciers slow movement south and then back north again in exposed pieces of bedrock in Central Park in NY?

While on the subject.. what is the proper temperature balance for the earth? Should every part of the earth experience all 4 seasons as we do here in the NorthEast? Should more of the earth be covered in water as it was when it first started to form life milliions of years ago? Hell, maybe the proper temp should be cold enough that much of the earth is covered in ice again?

Freezing my a$$ off her in NH

  11. Maybe it is time to let those over payed union employees finally find a job that requires them to work a full shift. Maybe it is time that the US automakers finally build reliable cars that compete with the foreign brands. Maybe we should stop bailing out these companies that have allowed unions to make them unable to compete.

  12. So what type of recourse do you have as a taxpayer when the state refuses to return your money that they owe you? Can you charge them interest? Can you refuse to pay anymore taxes until they have satisfied their debt to you? Hell maybe the legislators should have their income garnished until all citizens have been refunded their money.

So glad that I live in NH where we do not pay income taxes and do not pay any sales taxes. Hell we do not even pay our state legislators an income. Why should we encourage life long politicians suckling off the taxpayer teets. In NH the legislators are all volunteers.
