  1. Hi everyone. My wife just recently became a naturalized US citizen. My wife and our daughter are scheduled to stay here for 5 weeks. I was originally scheduled for 3 weeks, but caught Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease from my daughter who had caught it from a neighbor. I need to reschedule so I can go back with them in March since what I have is highly contagious (but not serious). My original flight is supposed to be this Tuesday, February 19th, and I don't have a visa to extend my stay. I just found out that my wife does not have a balikbayan stamp on her US passport. Are there any special instructions we need to take for her to get one? If so, where? I've read that my daughter and I would be able to bypass the 21 day restriction if my wife had the balikbayan stamp. Anybody with any knowledge or assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  2. just wanna share my happiness to everyone here in visajourney! I'm already with my fiance here in Fremont, CA. I arrived yesterday via PAL Nov 6, 08 6:30PM PST. Ohh It was a very long flight i must say! But its all worth it coz as soon as i came out of arrival lobby, I saw my fiance waiting patiently!

AT the POE, the officer (filipino dude) ask me: Who is your petitioner? Where are you gonna stay? What is the purpose of your stay? How/When did you meet? When are you gonna get married? (that's all and he said good luck after taking my fingerprints)

Now, we are just gonna get married and apply for AOS, EAD and AP, then it's all set. I just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! This website is really helpful to us! I just hope everyones waiting here to get all their VISA'S and be with your LOVED ONES SOON! Take care!

    MELISSA/MARTIN

Congrats Melissa/Martin and welcome to the United States! I remember way back when you were sending me PM's regarding problems with the NVC. It turns out you got to the states before my fiance! =) But all is good, she be here in the next few days.

    Take care and God bless!

  3. i'm glad everyone so far feels the same way. we're looking forward to the day it's our turn to teach our kids tagalog. i'll be brushing up on my tagalog when my fiance gets here. woo-hoo! free lessons!

Where in San Diego are you at? I used to live in Chula Vista 25 years ago. You might be too young to know, but I was an officer of COPAO (Council of Pilipino American Organizations) of San Diego County in 1978 - 1980.

I live here in Chula Vista...was borned and raised in San Diego. Madameng new developments sa chula vista since the last time you were here...well, the east side of chula vista at least.

  4. kamusta! my fiance's planning to fly out to LAX on november 11 as well. are you flying PAL out of manila?

  8. Kamusta sa lahat! May good news na! My fiance fiance just entered our tracking number on delbros' website, and saw that her visa is out for delivery! Salamat sa dyos at lahat sa inyo! I hope this means good news for everyone that's waiting! :D

  9. I just got off the phone with Grace. Amazingly, I got through the first time around. Anyway, she said that our DV was reviewed by the consulate this past Saturday, and that there weren't any issues. She told me to call back on or before Friday to check the status since there wasn't anything in the system that stated that my fiance's visa is printing. I hope this is a good sign for all of us who are waiting. *cross fingers* ;)

  10. M@C: That happened mine and matt's computer.... it was just a blank page before. We had to update our browser... so it would appear. Anyway when you text delbros, does it give you a reply? Like "case number is in process at the embassy?" Coz its the same database...

When I texted Delbros the reply was "MNL2008****** is not yet released to delbros. It is still in process at the embassy. Thank you for using delbros text online" By the way PING.. I use Internet explorer... same page pa rin. wala talagang inout ung date and time. Hay delbros talaga. Si boknat din experiencing the same problem.. pareho kasi interview date namin. baka di nila na update. THANKS PING!

Yup. In our case, i highly doubt it has anything to do with the browser we use. My fiance actually got her friend's case number and the delivery details are showing up on both of our computers. Delbros must not have updated their system for the people interviewed on Sept. 26.

  11. It was at 1:52 pm yesterday when I got the call from the USEM informing me that our visas were ready for pick up at Window 34. Shocked by the sudden turn of events, my hubby called Grace and from her confirmed that indeed, the USEM did not only approved my and daughter's visas, it also granted our request to personally pick them up.

We have got our passports now with the visas and stickers from the CFO. We will leave on Sunday with Washington as our POE.

I wish that those who are still waiting for their visas will soon get theirs, too, in the soonest time possible.

Congrats to you and your family! :) Have a safe trip!

  12. pie if you will take a look on the list, boknat has the same dates with you, and boknat's DV is with the embassy already, so there is s chance yours could be at the embassy too. Your petitioner should call the embassy for updates. Or you can do what twilight did, apply for CENOMAR now and try to get it ASAP and take it to the embassy. Try to find her post on this thread on which window to go, find it between page16-18, i can't remember...

bevs, PingLocalHostess is hanging us on suspense here. I saw her too, but she's gone again.

A10n BOKNAT now....teeheee... :ot2: ...any update on ur visa status??tnx pls..

kamusta pie. i haven't contacted the embassy since last night (it's 7:10am on monday morning here in the states). i'm probably going to give it some time and try calling them back on thursday (friday in manila). i must have tried calling close to a hundred times until i finally got a hold of grace. ay nuku! sobrang mainit ang ulo ko! i can honestly say that it was well worth calling since i found out that it's under review at the consulate. i'm pretty sure you're in the same batch as us.

anyhow, i'll post any updates whenever they happen. good luck!

  13. hi there. we had to endure a long wait til nvc received our file. in our case, it took almost 3 months for us to get the ball moving. did nvc tell you/your fiance that it would take up to 90 days? you might want to have your fiance contact the USCIS director's office if you haven't already done so. Here's their number: (202) 272-8000. i'm not sure if they'll help you out since it's been 30 days...they'll react more if your file hasn't been received by the nvc after 60 days.

hope this helps. best of luck to you and your fiance.
