  1. I hope someone here can help me. I brought my wife and youngest stepdaughter he in a K-3 visa. My oldest stepdaughter who was 18 when my wife and I got married ( she is 20 now ) decided that she wanted to come here to. She came on a K-4 visa so my qustion is how long can she stay in the country and how long will it take to get here to be able to stay her permanently?. If anyone has any answers for me they can respond here or reply directly to my email. gosselin546@aol.com Thank you in advance for any help you can give us.

  3. Hello everyone. I have a question about my wife and daughers who are here on an I129f visa. We are planning to go back to Romania for a wedding in a few months. I am wondering if this is allowed on I129f. it says on her visa card that she must surrender this card when leaving the country. does this mean she can't come back? Any help would be appreciated

there is no such thing as an I-129F visa... An I-129F resulted in either a K-1 or a K-3 dependant on your circumstances... I will assume K-3 in your situation.

What do you mean by visa card? are you referring to the I-94 arrival/departuer card?

A K-3 is a two year multi entry visa... you can travel until visa expiry... when you surrender the card (I-94) upon departure she would be issued a new one upon arrival.. That is why it is referred to as an arrival/departure card.

thank you for your response. even though my question was very confusing you answered it very well.

  5. I dont know if this will help but I was in the same situation I had been 11 months. I got very frustrated and sent emails with no help. I called my congressman and they were a little help but then I called the white house. they answered the phone and said they could not help me but they transferred my call to the state dept. They saw the transfer from the white house and they were very helpful. they said they would try to help. my papers were approved the next day and my family is here with me now.. it cant hurt to try this. good luck

  6. thank you everyone for your warm wishes and your help through this very long process. A couple of you have asked about the interview. Her first interview did not go very well. where did we meet. ( this was followed by a very rude question. was this a prostutition web site) I have heard from many people that it is very common for them to ask very personal questions so you might prepare your spouse for this. how many times did your husband come to romania. did your husband come to romania this year, does your husband have children? what are their names, have you ever seen his family, proof of relationship, pictures, dates, anything she had to prove relationship. She did not get visa on first visit because we were missing a couple of papers. we got those papers and went back 3 days later and were given visa the same day. Just a note to anyone who has been married before. I sent original papers proving my divorce to immigration but when my wife went for interview they wanted originals again. I suggest when you get certified copies made you get at least 2 copies. Good luck to everyone in their journey. I will check this site even though my family is here so if I can help anyone else I be happy to

  7. Natasha passed her interview 4 hours ago. She said it was very brief, officer was very nice. She'll get the visa tomorrow after 3 pm Minsk time.

I'll update the VJ timeline later, but for those of you keeping score:

Time from Marriage to Visa: 1 year, 4 days.

Time from I-130 NOA 1 to Visa: 341 days

Time from I-129F NOA 1 to Visa: 334 days

Time from I-130 NOA 2 to Visa: 72 days

Time from I-129F NOA 2 to Visa: 71 days

I'm very happy, but I offer NO thanks to the USCIS system that made this wait so long and the NVC staff who screwed up our package transfer to the embassy, adding an extra six weeks to the wait. YOUR SYSTEM IS BROKEN - HORRIBLY.

Kudos to the Consular staff at American Embassy Minsk. They were awesome, and they did their best to re-assure us and make up for NVC's f-ups.

God knows I hope the Obama administration does something to make this process work better.

And, for any of you who want to defend USCIS and leave a smarmy response about my hammering them (there are a few ususal suspects on here who typically do), I have a message: GO POUND SAND. I don't care what you think.

Finally: Lisa, Narnia, and all of my K3 friends who gave great advice and kept me quasi-sane through this completely insane process, you all deserve the majority of the credit for getting us to this point. For those of you who are finally with your spouses, I'm very happy for you, and for those who are still waiting, I hope it ends soon for you. You deserve it.

congrats. I know how you feel it is almost a year for me to. I think she will be here march 13. 1 year since we were married

  8. I sent letters and faxes as well and got no response. I decided to call the white house and to my surprise they answered the phone. They said they could not help me but they transferred me to the state department and they said they would look into this. my papers were approved and my wife has her medical exam on tuesday. you might want to call if you are outside the timelines

  9. Hi all,

we tried to check our status online since we got our NOA1 last month but it gives us an error message; it's really frustrating :bonk: we tried to call USCIS but we only get to the automated messages, we need to talk to a live operator to be sure that the reciept number is correct; please what number should we call and how can we do it????

    thanks :luv:

the above information is good. I have done this many times. good luck

  10. I got a letter from the state department today just 10 days after my NOA2 was approved saying that the papers for my I129f would be sent to the embassy in Romania within a week. I have not heard about my I130 yet but they were sent to the state department at the same time. I am hoping I will hear about this soon. I am very surprised at how fast the papers went through the state department. I hopw everyone else has the same luck as I did.

K3 usually gets through NVC in a week or so. The INS hasn't existed in years.

yes I know about INS not exisisting anymore I was talking about my INS reciept number on the letter. thanks
