  1. I agree that playing an online game is a great way. That's how I met my fiance we both play, World of Warcraft. You pay a monthly fee, but's it worth it. The game has a ingame chat so you can talk to each other, chat so you typing constantly and you level your characters together. That is how we come to love each other. He joined my guild and we started leveling characters together and one day we both realized we loved each other.

You can leave mail for each other and it's great to see you have mail from your honey bunny. tongue.gif The hours you spend talking can do wonders for your relationship. I've never talked to anyone as much as I do/have him. The game was well worth what I pay for it each month.

:P Sounds like John and I. We meet on MonstersGame in 2006. He became my best friend. Over time there was no denying our feelings. Made me question the possibility of soul mates. We were in the same "clan". Eventually our "characters" got married, and we were always together. Everyone thought we were already married. Always nice to hear.

We talk everyday through emails at work and then in the evenings. We play the game together still, and make little... bets  Which we can fulfill when we see each other again.

We are both artists so he will surprise me with a drawing, or I'll do the same for him. I also write poetry about us and get it published, then keep it as a keep sake. We also started a book that has how we meet, things we love about the other, our future plans, places to visit, songs... all that good stuff. So we are making it together tho we are 3K miles away.

We also have sent each other songs on how we are feeling... I guess it is all those little things that most couples take for granted.

  2. I am getting stuff together, and I thought I read that my Fiance will need his records since age 16, of all the places he lived. When do I add this.. is this part of NOA2 or when I first file? I did not see it on the check list, but I have seen mention of it on the immigration website. Any help would be appreciated. Not that he has a criminal background so that is not an issue, however he has live in a couple places. I would like to get the info together ASAP.

    Thanks!

  3. Basically, the time lines mean that, as far as USCIS is concerned, they are processing applications that were received on December 18, 2007. If you wish to submit an inquiry about your own application, they will not consider it until your own NOA1 date is later than the date that they have posted - ie. December 18, 2007. There is no implied date of approval from the submission dates that they are currently processing.

When it states it is for the I-129f - that is specifically for the approval of the I-129f and not the K-1 visa, so that would mean they are only considering what would result in the NOA-2 - permission for your fiancee to apply for a K-1 visa. The K-1 visa part is processed outside of the US through the Department of State and not through USCIS.

If you want to see a more realistic time frame for the actual processing time lines, you should check out the "processing times' tab listed on the tool bar above this forum. These are based upon the actual experiences of VJ members and so reflect more accurately what is happening rather than what USCIS says is happening. You can check for the I-129f and you can check for the specific USCIS processing center since there are vast differences even within the individual USCIS centres.

Once you receive the NOA2, the whole application is forwarded to the Consulate responsible for El Salvador. You should also be able to check and see what a realistic time line is for K-1 approvals for El Salvador.

I hope that helps to explain it a little better.

YES!! Thanks so much! I was wonder the same.

  4. I have a question.

I am the USC. John works and lives and France. But is a Dutch Citizen... Does this cause any issues? Or is it more residence? He has been in France 3 years. Thanks guys. All your stories help so much!!! We will be filing the soon :)

Also seems depending where the fiance is from, the approvals seem faster. Maybe it is all circumstance.

    Thanks!

  5. Thanks guys for this site. I am getting ready to embark on this journey with my soul mate John.

We will file the K-1 once the divorce decree is in hand.

I must say after reading this, I see we have a long road. hopefully the time passes.

He can still visit up until?? He uses the VWP.

He works in France and is not a citizen there, he is a citizen of the Netherlands. Hopefully this is not a problem.
