  1. My wife is a Russian Citizen and is planning to vacationing in Russia for 6 weeks with our 10 month old son (he's an American citizen). We're trying to find out the best way to apply for a visa for him. The Homestay visa requires that you go in person to the Consulat which for us is in DC and we live in Flordia, so we really want to avoid that if possible. Can I apply for a tourist visa for him? Any other options?

    Thanks,

    Tom

  2. Yes! Don't come up here or we'll send you home full of implants and alien babies! B)

I live in Saratoga so I have more than enough "foreigners" invading my space right now! Can't even find a place to sit in MY Starbucks!

All these worlds are yours except Upstate NY

    Attempt no landing there

    Use them together

    Use them in peace....

    Dave? Dave?

So my RFE was delivered to VSC today DHL - no touch though or anything.

Why do you guys think that is? Maybe tomorrow I'll get a touch or something? I sure hope so. I'm a nervous wreck.

I just want to know that they received it and it didn't get stuck in somebody's pile of junk, and that it actually makes it to my adjudicator's desk. If I called, do you think they'd tell me?

I'm just chock full of questions today aren't I?

    Hi,

Expect to see your status change to "Evidence received, processing resumed" by tomorrow. You will probably get several touches after that. And you should get your NOA2 in about 7-9 days. This is what happened to me and another VJ member.

    Good luck!

    Tom

  3. So does anyone in here know the deal with the NVC? Jim and I were approved on the 1st of August, which was a Friday, so I could understand if they hadn't sent our file until Monday, the 4th . . . it's now the 8th, and I've called the automated center where you enter the 10 digits of your receipt number, and as of about a minute ago, they still haven't received our file. Is that normal? It can't have taken that long for it to reach NH from Vermont.

As kornyhiv mentioned, talk to a live person (option 1 then option 5 if I recall correctly), I was approved on 7/30, NVC received it on 8/1 and shipped it out to the embassy on 8/5 (well technically 8/6, but the offical date was 8/5). it helps if you call early in the morning around 8am, I got right through without waiting.

    Good luck!

    Tom
