  1. Hi guys,

Finally after 6 months my case is complete. Actually after 3 years since I had to become a USC to petition them. Now the question is how does it take for them to schedule the interview? I'm dying here... I'm actually in Peru waiting so I can bring my girls (wife and daughter) home. I've been told by them we didn't make May but they say they are not sure if June is possibility. I've been on borrow time from my employer and I really need to get back home. If anyone can help me that will be great, at least to ease my anxiety.

    Thanks.

  2. What I did is get my wife a PayPal check card and just transfer funds from my bank to the Pay Pal account. She was able to go to any ATM and withdraw money or even pay with the check card.

  3. I can feel your pain right now. We are waiting on the darn email telling us when the interview is going to be and my wife is going through the same thing. One thing you can say to her is to look at this "sacrifice" in a different way. Once she is done with the waiting for her real green card she will be able to support her family from here and also down the road she will be able to help them move here (if they desire).

I have gone through the experience of moving countries and cultures (I'm actually from Guatemala as well) and one thing that kept me going is knowing that know I will have the ability to help my family any way I can.

Also, depending on what part of the country you live in you should be able to find restaurants, festivals chapines (guatemalan). This way she can always have a piece of her country available.

I hope the best for you guys!

  4. Hi everyone,

I have a quick question. I'm currently in the NVC process for a CR-1 for my wife and daughter. I'm here in Peru and I've been here for awhile (12/09). My job allows me to work remotely and because of that I've been lucky enough to spend allot of time with my girls, especially since I have a 2yr old. I really want to stay and finished the visa process so I can come home with my girls. The problem is that I'm only able to stay here until the end of March before I have to go home. Has anyone gone through the CR-1 process in Lima recently? If so can you let me know what type of timeline should I expect?

Just this past Monday we sent back the DS-3022 and my I-864. When can I roughly expect the whole thing to finish? If I have a date I can ask my boss for an extension, but I need a rough date.

Also, do we have to send all of her paperwork on NVC or do we do it all here in Lima?

Thanks for anyone that is able to help me.

  5. This answer is correct for the I-130, not the I-129F. It's likely both petitions were approved the same day and that the I-130 is the one the OP will be pursuing. The new procedures have NVC administratively closing the I-129F case when both cases arrive at NVC.

So, were both petitions approved or just the I-129F?

That's the strange part. The I-130 was approved for my daugther but not yet for my wife. The I-129F was approved I was told by the USCIS agent that since the I-130 was has not been approved we can use the I-129F get visas for my wife and child.

So if this is not correct for the I-129F what can I do?

    Thank you!

  6. Hi everyone,

My name is Jorge and I have a couple of questions about the NVC process for a K3 Visa. I'm currently out of the country (in Peru) enjoying sometime with my wife and daughter and during this time our I129F was approved!!

My plan is to stay here until we all are able to travel back to the US but I'm not sure exactly how the NVC process works. My concern is that I will not be able to receive or send any paper work back to the NVC if it is necessary.

Has anyone experience this situation that can give me some guiadance? I triled calling the number listed for NVC to get more infor but I keep getting a busy tone (603 334-0700)

    Thank you!!

  7. Hi everyone,

I am starting the process for a I-130/I-129F to bring my wife and child to the US. I finally became a US citizen :-) I've been researching the process for the past two years and I believe I can do it my self. My questions is do I really need a lawyer? and do I really need to get the paper work translated via a certified service or can I do it my self?

    Thank you!!

  8. Hello,

I'm new to the site and I already love it. I need some advice about my situation.

I am a legal resident waiting to get my citizenship process and I was wondering if there's anything I can do to get my wife and 3 month old to the states ASAP.

Can I start the I-130 process and change the status once I become and US Citizen?

Is there anything else I can do to bring them home?

I'm currently in Peru and been there since Feb but I have to go back due to my work. It will break my heart when I leave my girls, especially my daugther.

    Thank you guys.
