  1. Congratulations on all the lucky people getting visas! Praying for all the waiters! Good luck to all!

Oh quick question. My brother in law's wife was given a green sheet saying her case was pending adminstrative processing for documents but they kept her passport. What does this mean? Her interview was March 27th. Does anyone know what the green sheet stands for?

  2. Hi Mahitab!

I m very hopefull that inshaAllah in this month i will get my visa.

Just pray for me plz..and best wishes for u both..

Well, the month is almost at end. Sorry, I hope you get good news by the end of February atleast! Good luck and you'll be in my prayers!

    Yes Mahitab!

You are right and u dont need to be sorry dear abt it.InshaAllah i m very hopefull for abt february.

    On 01-26-09......

My husband woke up bright and early and went to the embassy! He got there 4 hours early and he was told to wait. He got to his officer for the interview finally and was very nervous. (I did not go with him to the interview, I am still in the USA). At any rate they asked him over 30 questions. 1. How long did you know your wife before you met her? 2. What is your wife's full name? 3. Why do you love your wife and why did you want to marry an American? 4. What made you go online to meet a wife to relocate to the USA? 5. Can I see some evidence of your marriage?<-Just to name a few of his questions. The interviewer was an American man with dark hair and he was very stern voiced. He told my husband he was approved and could pick up his visa and passport in a few weeks. So, I guess no AP! :0)

  3. ~Dream~Love~,

His packet did come by regular post. Now things may have changed since our time in Islamabad. Post your question here in this forum and hopefully some of the newer posters will be able to tell you a more updated time. But it was taking a few weeks in the past.

  4. Got into work this morning and checked my email. There is was in my inbox and I thought to myself this has to be spam mail it's not possible this could be real. So I opened it and there is was. I was speechless. Still didn't believe it so I checked the USCIS website and there it was. I took a long deep breath, because it felt like I had been holding it since I sent in the petition, and called my love to tell him the good news. He was so happy laughing and giggling. I have to say even though I have not waited as long as others I am thankful for this site it has helped me through the past few months.

For all those who are still waiting I hope yours goes through soon so you can take a deep breath also.

    WOOOHOOOOO :luv:

    Congrats!

  6. So, when do you predict we may get our NOA2? I am guessing mid-April. What do you all think?

My 2 cents - any time between Mid Feb to Mid March, taking into account that VSC is going by I 130 dates :)

I think Serendipity is quite ok with the timeline ofcourse considering that VSC is going by I-130 dates....Still, unpredictable VSC...

In this way, June filers should get started to hear something from Mid Jan to Mid Feb.....I wish!!!!

Let's see how VSC does for approvals in the next 2 weeks, this will really set the tone for future approvals.....if they do as good as they did in Dec we should see our approvals in the next 60-75 days

    Quite Legiamte!!!

I'm guessing 90 days for DreamLove. The June people 50 days.

  7. If they are working on April cases in January, then they will get to late July/early August in April like you mentioned. But this is with the assumption that they continue processing K3 cases in early 09 and do so at the rate of one month's worth of cases in approximately one month's time. Of course with VSC it is impossible to make any kind of realistic projection about their future processing speed. They may very well pick up their speed and do 2-3 months worth of backlog in each month (the best case scenario I am hoping for - especially now that they have offloaded a lot of their I-130 cases to CSC). In which case your approval may come sooner than April. Or of course they may go the other way and put K3 on the backburner once again for a few months (like they did for most of the latter part of 08) and in that case who knows when we will get our approvals.

    Deepak

I am glad that I moved prior to filing otherwise I would still be waiting. I filed in July and got NOA2 in October! I am so sorry guys!

    Hi,

The processing time is still for march fillers, but i think ( my feelling) it's going to be sooner....

    Let's wait and see

I'm going to say early April up until the end of May for July-August filers! Penny in the barrell! LOL-Fariha

Let's pray they do get caught up on 2-3 months of backlog in the first part of the year because boy do they need to!

    -Fariha

Ok, my instincts tell me you all will get approved around March 25th of 2009!

  9. Are you able to visit him anytime soon? That might help calm things down. I once withdrew an I-129 and it took three months to get a reply, since the withdrawal had to be approved by the director of the VSC. So, you have time to work on your joint anger.

    Ok CJ are you Desi?

I want to say one thing Mahitab....just hold your horses for 3 months and then decide. You are at VSC and wont get approved for another 4 months anyway. When you get to the end of the 3rd month if you still feel mad at Samir then follow through with the cancellation procedures. If you really want to piss him off let him get approved and then never follow through with the rest of the steps needed to get him here. Now that's what I am talking about!

Never been a big fan of anger, but here is my two cents, which is close to what everyone said here. Give yourself at least 2-3 weeks before making a decision and see if there is any change in his attitutde. If he is honest in his change (aka apology), you will know in your heart. Make sure he doesn't give you a hard time since marriage is a two-way street and he needs to make sure just as much as you, if not more, that both of you are content with each other.

    Yes, I am desi...

I saw a few other recent posts on cancellations. I think some is over petty stuff. I think your man needs to grow up a little sweetheart. But Mahitab just wait before you leap. But makesure he steps in first and not you. Make him come to you,do not make the first move.

Also, in my case I could not cancel as I felt bad for our new baby. I wanted her to know her daddy. For you too plz for the sake of everything on your plate take some time away from him. Do not talk to him until you both cool down. Otherwise you are in for a huge meltdown.

He is from another country not exactly accustomed to us American girls. He don't really know how to go about apologizing in our way. Most men do not do well with apologies as Narina said. I think just take an apology as it is and go on from there. Syed made me mad and did not send me anything for my anniversary and I was hurt, it crushed me to think he was so cruel.

I think we are all just upset. I know you may think I am not in same boat b/c we got approved in a short time from CSC but I am telling you. I had my trials and tribulations. I hope you are well.

  11. I totally understand what you are going through right now and frustration but I agree with CJ Vasani.

First--- think everything through, it is REALLY HARD to be in long distance relationship and especially when you have to wait not knowing how long  . But I would suggest that talk with him again, think at least for a week or so and then make a desicion. It's always easier to just cancel everything and wash your hands off but then you might regret it.

Trust me, I've had this too with my fiance.... we went through the hard time too and I was SOOOO close in canceling our documents/petition.....so then I had sometime to think about it, I just didn't know exactly how to cancel it. In meantime I talked to my fiance and he REALLY started to improve so now I'm SOOOO happy that I didn't cancel anything cause then I would have regret it all my life. Since then I fall in love with him even MORE!!!!

So girl I would suggest first think it through and don't make fast decisions that you might regret later. Of course it is your life and your decision, only you can make that decision...... but i'm just giving you an advice, like you asked :)

to cancel your petition you just have to call USCIS and then submit letter to them.

    Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!

Mahitab, I know you and Samir love each other. I will have Syed call him. Syed said he hated all the Americans and the USA last year and I had my letters ready to cancel things but then we got approved a week later. Whew....I am relieved now that I forgave him. It did take him 3 apologies to regain my trust though. You know men, they always say sh%^ to piss us gals off in heated arguments. Please try your best to resolve this matter as educated adults which I know you are. Call me if you need to vent!

    <3,

Is CJ Vasani the petitiner or the beneficiary? Which one is in India the man or the woman?

  12. I have added everyone who requested to be added and any updates, if you need more changes please tell me if something looks wrong. I have both CSC and VSC on there for a reason so that we can see who gets approved faster. Not that it will make any of us at VSC any happier when CSC approves faster; but it will give us an idea of what is going on. So, if anyone else wants to be added or updated then please drop your information here on this thread!

Please add my information from the signature line - Thanks.

PS - We already know CSC is way ahead of NVC...

    Great job tracking.

WE GOT APPROVED FOR OUR 1-130 ON 10/07/08! :star:

  13. I would like to dedicate "Body & Soul" By Anita Baker. It reminds me of my hubby whenever I hear it on the radio. :star:

Me and You - Kenny Chesney

Ordinary? No! I really don't think so,

    Not a love this true.

Common destiny, we were meant to be, me and you.

Like a perfect scene from a movie screen,

    We're a dream come true.

Suited perfectly, for eternity, me and you.

    CHORUS:

Everyday, well I need you even more,

    And the nighttime too.

There's no way, I could ever let you go.

    Even if I wanted to.

Everyday I live, (I) try my best to give,

    All I have to you.

Thank the stars above, that we share this love, me and you

    CHORUS

Ordinary? No! I really don't think so,

    Just a precious few.

Ever make it last, are as lucky as

    me and you.

  14. ha at least u got American in there they call me latina or hispanic

    and i am AMERICAN lol

My friend and I had this discussion and it is ridiculous that we must put our races on forms/applications. It limits what jobs we may get and apartments, etc. I really dislike it. I am not black, but I am not white either. My family is from the islands. I look like a white lady with a really good tan-up until I start talking with my thick, French accent. I tell you it is very nerve-wrecking to fill out applications and then show up and get stares as to why I did not select white. I look white, but just like you I select other and place human inside te blank because I do not feel color is important. I just feel like race is not an important factor on certain applications and so forth. I understand your frustration and I had a similar conversation with an elderly man in NYC once and he also agrees we are all human and that circling a race on an application is not necessary. I am tired of racial questions on forms it is un-called for and until we get out of it there will be no peace of mind for some of us.

  15. I tried googling the subject and couldn't find a list of countries. A lawyer for my ex-husband told us about that. He's the one that told me "There are 33 countries on that list. If you're from one of them, your file will be referred to jttf for more security checks." Of course, I'm sure the list is mostly middle eastern countries and probably pakistan, afghanistan, and egypt...anywhere with a large Muslim population.

I imagine we are in for atleast a 6-9 month wait at VSC give or take. I have seen people waiting over a year though, sadly enough. Let's all hold hands in prayer for speedy approvals Insha'Allah.

  16. Hello! We are ready to submit our I-130 and I am trying to figure out if I need to submit a copy that is certified with a gold seal and stamp or if I only need to submit a copy of our marriage certificate and no seal or stamp is needed. It has a stamp which stays Pakistan Nikah Registar but there is no gold seal or stamp. So, do I need my husband to send me one with a gold seal and stamp to submit or do they just need the stamp? Is there anywhere I can see examples or can anyone explain to me what is acceptable from anyone who has an approved I-130. Thank you in advance.

    :-)
