  1. I went thru something similar. But I married mine in Nigeria. When he got here he had a secret life as well. Only I paid for his phone so I knew who he talked to and he used my computer. I found out he basically was talking to women online and meeting them while I was at work. Everyone he knew believed I was the crazy one. And he was mentally abusive. It was always my fault. He still wants to come back cos no one else will stay with him more than a month or so. You need to get out. And yes I would contact the police if not the FBI and explain what he did. Move back with your Grandmother. We need to make a stand with these types of men.

  2. thanks for the reply. We were however told the medical can be completed when he comes to US. I wonder why they did not tell him he has to complete it if he is still in Nigeria.

    Thanks.

The Embassy in Nigeria is very difficult due to cases of fraud. Most of those applying dont intend to stay with their spouse once they arrive in the US. This makes it difficult for legitimate cases. The process is difficult at best and the interviewers are trying to figure out which cases are real. Sadly in my case they were wrong and gave him the visa. And they took so long with the process he has a permanent visa. They really need to fix the process for the people involved.

  3. after reading lots of stories here about marriage interviews, i came across this valid interview but was mistakenly thought to be 'fraud. so everything basically depends on the documents and the actual 'conversation'?? do they actually arrest you right there and then if they find out its a fraud? just wonderin the typical scenario when an IO suspects the couple to be fraud. thanks

I have a friend who's spouse was denied as fraudulent. The only thing that happened was he is not coming to be with her. She fought for so long that she gave up trying. You can appeal if they deny and fight it but there will be lots of cost to this.

  4. Thank you MUCH! I emailed him letting him know I knew he lied all he said was I didnt tell u my mom was dying.

    Again thanks!

I would love to speak with you. I have not been here in ages myself. I was totally cheated by the Nigerian I married. I see several women that have. We all need to bond together and get to immigration. These men usually are actually scammers and using a woman to survive is all they know. I am trying to report mine as well but not having much luck. Please email me when you get the chance.

  5. Thanks to all of you for you input. He is now finally home. It was a bumpy ride all the way thru. Even the flight. He spent two days stuck in Lagos due to not one...but two failed engines. The passengers were shuffled back and forth between airport and hotel. But once he was in flight it was all a memory. It is wonderful having him home. May God be with you all.

  6. My best wishes and prayers on the AP. I highly recommend your spouse contact the senator for help. They kept us in AP over 1 year. Just got approved. Also calling the Dept of State keeps u informed of any changes. Hopefully yours will be brief. Contact me with anything I can do to help

Hi guys, here is my interview experience of 1st August. i went to convention center at 6:30am. got the shuttle ticket and waited in a long line. after lots of security finally i reached embassy at 8:10am. first they took fingerprints and told me to wait in the IV Waiting room for my name to be called. after 15 minutes they called me in a window number 5 where a pakistani guys asked me 3 questions and took all my original documents. and told me to wiat again. after 1 hour i was called in windows 4 and a white officer interviewed me and asked me questions like that.

    Where did u meet.

Were u looking for a wife on internet so u could immigrate to the U.S.

When did she came to pakistan.

Have u ever travelled out of pakistan.

Have u done Hajj or Umrah.

    When did u get married.

How long she stayed in pakistan.

Where does she live in U.S.

What do u do in pakistan.

he asked me over 35 questions i can't even remember all.

then he asked me to show any evidence of ongoing relationship.

i showed him the letters that my wife has sent me through usps. they were about over 100 and he read every single card or letter for about 40 minutes.

    then he said

HAVE A NICE DAY SIR WE NEED TO DO SOME AP.

he handed me a blue AP sheet. and 2 pink stickers. 1 he sticked on my passport and otherone is stappled with the AMEX Address sheet.

i was out of the embassy by 11:00am

    it was a long interview.

  7.:dance::dance: OMG!! My husband was called to come in for the IR1 interview July 29. The AP on the I129F was done they said. He was asked 2 questions...didnt look at any of the papers he brought. Said Congrats and to come back next Tuesday to pick up the visa!!!!! After 2 years of marriage we will finally be together!.. I have learned a lot from all of you and thanks to Senator Bayh...this will all soon be a memory.:dance::dance:
  8. thank you for taking the time to respond!

The person I got today had a tone and response that did not alow me to prod further, but I will keep trying as tess suggested.

She said our documentation is being verified, which is all it said.

I would definitely do what Tess suggested and call DOS. Sometimes they can give you more information.

Hoping for a speedy AP (F)

Yes I have talked to that one too many times. Chris is the best help at DOS. Ok...my story...same as yours. Placed on AP...I hope this doesnt scare you...May 17, 2007. Our processing just finished. They interrogated my father in law and my husband re our marriage. I am 10 years older so they think it is fraud. He has an interview for the I130 soon. My prayers are with you. Contact your Congress person or Senator for addition help. Periodically email the embassy with questions on whatever u can come up with so they keep the case going. Right now your case is on it's way to the US for security checks most likely. Feel free to contact me with any questions. We have been thru it all.

  9. Hello. We are now getting ready for the IR1 interview at the Lagos Embassy. We have finally be released from AP for the I129F interview. I would love to hear how other's interviews have gone. After the AP I am very worried. They recently visited my father in law to discuss the marriage and interrogated my husband at the embassy to finish the AP. I hope that is a good sign. Any advice is helpful. Thanks to all.

  10. OMG! This consulate is crazy! 11 years isnt even a big age difference. And why is it that people think its so odd that the woman is older than the man....HELLO...women look good...men are attracted to that.....what does the age matter. And geesh...all in your business about having children or not...what in the world does this have to do with immigration?! I thought the CO was supposed to interview to make sure all work is in order. Why does the system let you get all the way thru name checks security checks financial checks only to have some random CO who has had you file for all of 5 minutes to deny you?!! This system is a load of ####### sometimes. I know they are doing their job,,blah blah blah...but what the hell was USCIS and NVC doing in all that time prior. Why does the CO get to change your fate by just looking at you and thinking to themselves..."hmmm...this guy and this lady don't look like they 'match', let me deny them, or make them wait another 2 months of BS time and see if they come back"...I want to start yelling discrimination and prejudice cause this is obviously a case of judging a book by its cover not by the content of whats inside. I'm just so fed up with people and THEIR idealogy of what is acceptable.

    UGH!!!

I couldnt have worded it better Marlita. I have yet to figure how USCIS and NVC put our I-129F and I130 thru in less than 2 months to have one person contest our marriage. I am 10 years older than my husband and i look damn good for my age. Yes I had my tubes tied but if my husband wanted a child we would find a way. How dare one woman decide we dont fit. We have been in AP over a year. I have numerous people fighting for us. What couple would stay together this long if not in love? The interviewer actually asked my husband what is the color of the roof on my house. WTH?? He has NEVER been to the US and even my 13 year old couldnt answer that after living in this house his whole life. Something needs to be done with this whole system.

  11. Good morning,

I'm interested to see if anyone has been or is currently on AP in Lagos for reasons other than security checks, more specifically for Consulate conerns of bonafide relationship? If so, how long have/were you been stuck there, what did you do to resolve it and what was the outcome?

    Thanks,

    tess

We have been in AP in Lagos since May 17 2007 for verification of our marriage. They have been trying to ignore us but they have 2 Senators and our attorney on them. The embassy did actually answer my question re the lapsed I130 and said it is beneficial to submit it to post. We had to send an expedite request to the NVC to push it thru to Lagos. He has an interview scheduled on it for October 3rd and they state if processing completes before that they will call him in sooner. What all have u tried so far?

  12. I am protesting...I want this issue pinned! :protest:

Petitions Returned to the United States

More and more this is how Morocco is handling visa petitions, and it does not matter the amount of proof of relationship you provide. We need a central place to review/share extremely important information to help ourselves and others going through this issue. Possibly even prevent this from happening to others in the future.

I will gladly create a legible, credible, and searchable compilation of all immigration guidelines surrounding petition return/revocation, research, etc. if VJ would commit to pinning this issue for us. Even if it is only in the ME/NA forum...PIN IT PLEASE?????

My husband has been in AP for over a year now. I totally agree this needs notice. Anything I can do to help all those going thru this I will be there. Best wishes to you.

  13. My name got flagged at my K1 interview yesterday. Someone with the same name as me has had trouble at the US port of entry or something and they have sent my application to Washington for additional processing. They gave my passport back and said they would call when they hear back from Washington.

Is this going to take weeks? months? years??

I am so stressed that this will be stuck in administration.. I can't believe this happened.. I am really low :(

    Any advice or consolation?

    Thankyou..

    Tom

Apparently it should takes approx 60 days

I am sorry to hear about your interview. At least you have some idea why they are checking. My husband was told on May 17 2007 that they were checking the validity of our marriage. I submitted the additional documents they told him they wanted within a week to the US Consulate to Lagos Nigeria. They still say it is in "processing" when I call. No one has an answer. My senators have tried and get the same. Now we are praying submitting the I-130 to combine with the I-129F is what they want. They stated it is beneficial. I just feel like this is all a game and they think they have something on my husband. It is a cruel game to all of us in love and wanting to be with our s/o. Let me know how it goes for you please.

  14. Just want to find out How many of us Latin American countries have been or are currently in Administrative Processing?

My fiance and I had the visa interview on May 22 and after being approved for the visa said that we are being sent through Administrative Processing. Read our story here:http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=130218&view=findpost&p=1877993

    Let me know!

    Kind Regards,

    Diana B

My heart goes out to you and I feel your pain. My husband had his K3 interview on May 17 2007 in Lagos Nigeria and we are STILL on AP. The only help came when I got the NVC request to continue the I-130. I emailed the embassy and they state this would be beneficial to the case. So now that is moving and again we wait on that embassy. I hate that they are allowed to do this on one person's opinion. But we are strong and will get thru this much to their way of thinking. My prayers are with you.

  15. After reading the snags that recent applicant have had from prior applications I am curious how many past visa applications that the average Sub-Saharan has filed prior to this one. I know Joseph filed at least 3 times I willl call and get an exact number. What about others?

My husband and I tried 3 times for a travel visa for him. The first was denied as my divorce was not final. the 3rd was bcos he was honest and said we got married 2 days earlier. I think it may have put us in AP for all this time. They dont trust him but dont realize all the attempts were to be with me..not others

  16. So wonderful to read what you wrote on this subject. I have had soooo many try to bring us down. We are in love now and forever by the will of God. Yes there is always a chance we are mistaken but I dont believe that is the case. But if it was I would continue to live my life. I hope all is well with you and things go right in God's way. Take care and stay God blessed.

I SEE FROM TIME TO TIME WE GET SOMEONE THAT WILL SAY SOME OLE CRAZY STUFF ON A POST TRYING TO DESTROY OUR SPIRITS BECAUSE THEY HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH A MAN. LORD HELP THEM RIGHT NOW!!!!!! ALL I'M SAYING IS THE GOLDEN RULE, IF YOU DON'T HAVE NOTHING NICE TO SAY THEN SAY NOTHING. I JUST HAVE TO LET THE TRUTH BE THE LIGHT FOR A MINUTE. YOU KNOW WHAT IDOCARE, SOMETHINGS IN LIFE IS A GAMBLE....YOU MAY HAVE NOT KNOWN YOUR HUSBAND BUT I KNOW MINE AND HE IS AND AS BEEN ALL THAT I CAN EVER WANT AND EXPECT A "TRUE" MAN OF GOD TO BE. IM SORRY THAT YOUR EYES WERE BLIND TO THE FACT YOUR MAN DIDN'T REALLY WANT YOU OR YOU WERE JUST TO SILLY TO PICK UP ON THE VIBES. COME ON NOW THERE HAD TO BE SOMETHING THERE WARNING YOU.I THINK YOU MAY NOT HAVE LISTENED TO THE VOICE OF THE LORD WHEN HE WAS SAYING NO GIRL DONT DO IT. WELL THATS YOUR LIFE AND WELL YOUR BAD EXPERIENCE. YOUR MARRIAGE BEEN OVER FOR MORE THAN 2 YEARS WHY O'WHY ARE YOU STILL STUCK IN THE PAST. BABY GOD IS ABLE. YOU KNOW YOU NEED A NEW YEARS RESOLUTION TO DO BETTER. TO SAY THE LEAST DON'T BE HATING ON ME BECAUSE MY HUSBAND LOVE ME AND I KNOW WITHOUT A SHADOW OF A DOUBT THAT I AM THE QUEEN OF HIS HEART. WHEN YOU BUILD YOUR RELATIONSHIP ON THE SOLID ROCK OF GOD THERE IS NO WAY IT CAN FAIL. "THE BIBLE SAYS ASA MAN THINKETH SO IS HE. SO THOSE THOUGHTS OF MY MAN RUNNING OFF ARE NOT EVEN IN MY MIND, THE DEVIL IS A LIAR. WE BIND THAT DEVIL ON EVERY SIDE IN THE NAME OF JESUS.A FAMILY THAT PRAYS TOGETHER STAYS TOGETHER". IF BY CHANCE HE IS MARRIED TO A LITTLE GIRL IN THE VILLAGE, I KNOW SHE GONNA FEEL REAL BAD WHEN HE LEAVE AND SHE WON'T SEE HIM AGAIN. SHE WON'T BE GETTING THEM U.S DOLLARS EITHER SO THAT A CANCELED PLAN AS WELL. AS FOR THE FREE PASS TO AMERICA, IF ALL HE WANT IS A GREEN CARD AND I CAN GET TREATED LIKE THE QUEEN I AM AND GET TAKEN CARE OF THEN FINE LET HIM HAVE THE CARD. GOD IS MY VERY PRESENT HELP SO I DON'T DEPEND ON NO ONE ELSE. HONEY WHEN I PRAYED AND FASTED AND PRAYED SOME MORE THE "LORD" TOLD ME THIS RELATIONSHIP WAS MINE AND THAT THIS IS MY HUSBAND SO DO IT. SHAREE :dance:

  17. I would love to talk to anyone that has been in AP over a year. We do not understand what is happening. It has to be a deliberate attempt to try to break us up...that wont happen...I would move there to be with him... But the jobs here are better so he and I prefer here. Are they stupid? Lets see how long we can do this? I will soon file the writ of mandemus on them. try denying him....i will fight till i die. how do we convince them that this will get bad for them...not us?

  18. Salam,

Just thought a chat for Muslims would be helpful. I am constantly wondering if that may come up on the radar for the approval and if that may delay but alas it doesn't help to worry about such things as there is nothing I can change I am who I am Hamdolah. Looking for the support of others facing the same challenges or anyone interested in participating... all are welcome to chime in

    .

My husband is muslim and currently on AP in Lagos Nigeria. They have had us there for over a year now. They state they are validating the marriage yet no one in his family has been contacted. How are they investigating then? They have the original certificate of marriage. I swear they are after something else...Sad that a country that is considered "FREE" can hold us hostage like this. Some of his friends say this is all because they realized he is Muslim. I would hope not as that is assuming all Muslims are bad and we all know that is not true of any race or religion. I will pray for u all to be with the ones u love. Take care.

  19. My husband and I were placed under Administrative Review on May 17, 2007 in Lagos Nigeria. We were told this could take upwards of 6 - 12 months to complete and they would then call him to return for his interview. As you can see it is now past 12 months with no idea when it will end. I call Senators, Dept of State and email the embassy. No one has any time frame for us. The embassy did state we can process the I-130 still and are praying for the interview on that. Has anyone on here gotten a visa in Lagos after this Review? Any advice you can give would be wonderful.

  20. My husband went thru the exact same thing there in Lagos on May 17, 2007. We are still told it is in processing. Have you had any luck? My understanding is this is due to all the Nigerians that marry in fraud just to come here and never stay with their wives. i went back there in March just so I could see him. I have Senators offices helping but they still wont seem to get this done. The embassy did ask that we submit the I-130 when I asked what to do with it since it had lapsed. Now trying to get that thru the processing at the NVC. I am trying to find legal rights somehow on this as they need to prove they are working on this and not just playing us.

  21. I am really confused! Since I am at Vermont and they do not seem to be approving the I-129 for K-3 I am getting things in order for a I-130 approval. My question is what kind of police report is actually needed to send to NVC? I have read that they require a local police clearance as well as one from the passport agency but when I looked it up at uscis website it gives instructions on how to get a police clearance and it says you have to write to a place in Ikoyi? I am so confused. What do I really need to have my husband get? Is the local report the one he will get from Ikoyi? Will he still have to go to a passport office and get one from them as well? Or is the one from Ikoyi the only one he needs and how much is it going to cost him to get it? Oh and also one more thing, does he really only need to write to them to get it or does he need to travel to lagos and get it in person? He is in Aba and thats a looong trip so I am hoping he wont have to do that. OHHHHHHHHHH this immigration mess is so confusing. I just want my husbaaaaannndddd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :crying::blink::crying::blink::wacko: This is making me crazy!

I am hoping we did it right. My husband went directly to the station. Knew the woman there so he paid the fees and she got the papers ready. He was fingerprinted and a passport photo added. I understand your pain. My husband is in administrative processing after his interview and this has been over a year now. My senators say they cannot do anything.
