  1. I remember reading somewhere here that there is a fee associated with the cancellation for K3 to proceed with CR-1. Is that still applicable? When we asked the embassy earlier to switch the appointment date (even though it didn't work), they didn't specify that we have to do anything particular to cancel K3. Any ideas? Thank You.

  3. Hey,

Thanks for responding. That page is my homepage currently :)

    Btw, I love that quote.

My husband's interview will be in Mumbai. But When I called the NVC the lady said they send an email when they schedule an inteview with your consulate...usually interviews are made within the 1st two weeks of every month.

The following link might be useful for Chennai Consulate and their Interview Appt Schedule.

    http://chennai.usconsulate.gov/appointment_schedule.html

  4. Our case completed on May 28th. Waiting for NVC's email.

    Depends on the embassy.

Ankara sent us an email - stating to go to their site - download all the forms, send them back, and we were given a 3 month wait for the interview.

    Thanks for the information

Our case was completed on the 6th of April, we received pkt 4 on April 23rd. So it took about 2 1/2 weeks to scheduled our interview, which is June 12th. NVC schedules interview the 2nd and 4th week of every month. Hopes this helps...

Yes this info really help, thanks.

My case was completed recently on May 22nd.... And I got to know only because I called NVC. I thought we would get an email... The lady on the phone said all interviews were booked for the month of June (in Mumbai) so therefore maybe in July. She did say they schedule interviews within the first 2 weeks of the month... I guess it all depends on the consulate. Hang in there.

    Good luck!!!

Hopefully by mid June I will have the interview date.

  5. Hello everyone,

I've been having a very hard time with NVC regarding the AOS bill that is shown as PENDING in their system. Technically, my case was finished on May 5th except for this bill that they had shown pending. Yesterday someone even told me that everything is fixed and a supervisor reviewed it but it is just not in the system. However, when I called today they act like they don't have a clue. I talked to a supervisor and she said all the June interviews are already scheduled. I feel terrible. We were supposed to have a May 19th K3 interview which we had to cancel. I was hoping to have June interview. Looks like that is not happening. They'll only schedule July interview second week of June. So I'll have to wait till then. I just hope they'll resolve this issue soon.

Good luck to all who are gettingJune interviews.

  6. We were waiting to have case finished at NVC this week so that we can use the K3 interview date in May :( This morning AVR said information is missing or incomplete. When I called NVC it is 'cause 864 bill pay is still shown pending. I sent the coversheet with my 864 package. No one told me anything was wrong. They even told me earlier that my 864 package looked just fine. I emailed them the receipt page with PAID status. They said a supervisor will review it but it will take about 10-15 days. Other than this our case is completed. Man,,,we were so close..

I just wanted to let people know about last minute RFEs. Also make sure you have everything saved from the invoice payment center. Even if it is what is wrong with NVCs system, it is still going to delay the process

  7. Our last package of ds-230 reached NVC on April 27th. It was in their system on April 29th. Everytime I call they have not recognized that it is the ds-230 package. They keep saying it is in the building :( I am worried why they haven't even started the review on it. We had a K3 interview date for May 19th. Looks like we are not going to make it. Embassy needs everything for the case 10 days ahead of interview date (Courier Fees).

  8. Hello,

I can't talk much about K-1. I suggest do just CR-1 to avoid confusion. 'Cause,,, we regret we did both. As far as I know, service center is picked by Chicago office. It is decided after you send your I-130 petition. Yes there is a lot to learn in this whole journey.

Ok, i have been reading alot in here, and i think i found out that the CR-1 visa is one off the best.

Im not married to my US-citizen yet, so i was planning for the K-1 but after reading how expensiv it is and it will take a while to get the EAD and the AOS, i think maybe i want to go the long but easy way.

Im planning a trip in either july or september, so if we decide to go this way we will get married then, and ill go back home and wait for my visa.

So as soon as we are married we can start to file for the I-130??

Should we apply for both the CR-1 and the K-3 or just CR-1??

    How long does it take??

And how do you know what service center you get? or is that decided after you send in the paper works??

Im going crazy with all the information....its not a easy thing to be with the one you love:)

Well ill continue my reading in here, and most likely pop back in with more questions:)

  9. Hello,

Can someone let me know how they make those spreadsheets with anticipated date of case completion, interview etc.? We are February 2009 filers. Also, what documents the consulate normally required during interview other than proofs of marriage? Thank You.

  11. Hello no where man,

Thanks for responding. But our issue is that his current address is only a temporary address that he is only a tenant. So he can't make that as his primary address in such an important like his passport.

    Hello,

My husbands's current address is where he holds his job. His parents' home address is his permanent address though it is not his current. In all our forms like I-130, G-325A, etc. we gave his current address (where he works) which is different than his addres in the passport (home address). I am wondering whether NVC or consulate will complain about the difference. Anyone experienced similar situation or any suggestions, please give your feedback immediately. We'll have to send Ds-230 soon.

    Thank You,

im not sure but addresses is so important and this may make confusion

as u stated that all I-130 AND THE G-325A gave where he works ..then it would be more good to make the passport the same

such confusions would make a delay and may be a problem

changing the passport is easier no doubt

    Good Luck

  13. Hello,

We've been using Visa Journey for a while and decided to make a post for the first time.

We received the NVC email with DS-3032 and 864 bill. We paid AOS fee online in their website. When I call NVC, the AVR says the bill is received. However, the website still says it is in process. I confirmed it is cashed from my bank. I called NVC and the operator said it is still pending. I was under the impression that I can send the 864 package as soon as the AOS bill status is paid. My issue is that I don't have the coversheet to send with 864 package. I was going to send the 864 package as soon as I get the cover letter. Has this happened to anyone that even if the AVR says bill paid and website says it is pending??

Another concern is about DS-3032. My husband sent it via email. He sent two emails one following the VJ template and the other he scanned the comepled & signed form with the barcode and sent it as an attachment. We received the AUTO RESPONSE mails for both. The operator couldn't confirm if they got it. She said they must have if I got the auto response but it is not been reviewed. I am not sure how long we'll have to wait for that.

Also As you can see from our time line, we already have a K3 interview date. As we like to move with CR1 we are going to email consulate to see what they can do? We know it isn't good to cancel the date. But as things are getting kind of delayed at NVC and my husband still needs to get his police certificate, we are not too sure. Does anyone know the medical for K3 and CR-1 is same or different?

Does certified copy mean take a copy of the original and get the issuing agency place a seal to confirm it? Do we have to notarize it as well? If there is an affidavit with a birth certificate, does that need to also have the seal from the issuing agency? For a certified copy of the affidavit, can we just notarize it?

Sorry for too many questions at once. Please help.

Please suggest anything you think may help us to proceed to the next step.

    Thank You,
