  1. I know it was a shock to be actually approved out of Cairo with out AP, I can assure you I was more shocked then any one. Any way it was true, what they said in the embassy that the visa would be in his hands in 2 weeks, It arrived this morning care of DHL. I have no idea how or why the heck we pulled this off to be honest. I did send in almost every thing in the beginning to the USCIS, and then he re-sent his papers in with packet 2 so I'm not sure if that had any thing to do with it or not, out side of that I don't see how we did it but humdulla! Well he will spend Ramadan home with his mom then come September 27th. His mom is old and I am worried he would be a bit depressed should any thing happen, I don't want him to regret not being there, you know?

Well i would love some opinions what do yall think?... how the heck did it get approved with out AP?, I wish i could figure it out so EVERY one of our MENA family's could be approved right away with out any more needless wait.....

And another BIG BIG BIG thank you to EVERY one that was there for me when i was freaking out, and for all the help and answers to some dumb questions i had  I (L) MENA!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Ok, here is our little review of the embassy

Abdo went in juat as they opened with all the other people, he said that every one working there was very very nice and cheerful, He did the normal paying for dhl, fingerprints and had to do 2 more coppies of the 156 form as he didnt send in 3 just 1.

the interview was given by a nice woman about 30 he said she was very nice ans asked him about how we met , about my divorce, and my daughter and about what my father did for a living... i found that a bit odd at first until i though about it as my parents sent in support papers for us to make sure we were fully covered, and to prove my fathers income i sent in a paper from the military showing he was retired army and what he made a year. she asked about my job where i work what do i do exactly and what my off days were. she asked if i owned my own home, i dont i am moving rigth before he comes here i have been staying with my mom to save he told her that and she asked how many rooms were in my moms house...i found that a bit odd as well. She asked about his name and what his friends call him too. .... He asked her if she wanted to see our pics, and he explained out who all the people in the pic s were, ( his family our freinds and us together) she said i looked very happy in all the pics. Then told him Marbook your approved, we will send your visa in 2 weeks or 10 days she told him he was a nice man and i was lucky to have found him, he said he loved me so much and she told him to go!!! to tell me now, he said he got up and went away then remebered the papers and pics he left, and went back, he said she was laughing too hard and said " what you didnt tell her yet?" he laughed and said thank you 5 times then ran out to tell me.

    HUMDULLA! its done!

  3. thank you all for the congrats!

as for the AP..... honestly i could not give a damn less if they put us in ap or not, all that matters is that APPROVED and they took his pass port i can deal with the rest as it comes! later tonight i will post a review of the interview, i am just now getting to realy tal;k to him about every thing and my head is still spinning..I AM SSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY!

  4. I suspect Egypt is due for something similar when Mubarak's time is up. There is much controversay about his son being groomed as the new president of Egypt.

I wish they would revolt against Mubarak, I can't stand the man, IMHOP he is a thief a lair and a lot of other things i wont bother to write here. Elections are joke there, what is not for Mubarak is tossed to the sea

One day inshalla there will be a real election and the people will get a say.

  5. insect repellant, sunscreen, pepto, tylenol, tampons (if you use them), razors and shaving gel (unless you want the halawa experience), electrical adaptors like someone else mentioned...

LOTS OF TAMPONS!... thank god i thought about this before i went the first time, because you cant find them ANY WHERE in egypt. every time we past a pharmacy i had to check

baby wipes, hand sanitizer and good shampoo..... I had trouble finding good shampoo there too, no one in Egypt likes my shampoo

  6. I would send an email and ask them to please LOOK AT THE CORRECT records and find out what your case status is because you have received 2 different answers to the exact same question. Have your fiance send one as well see what they answer is for her. aaahhhhh Cairo, they don't have a clue sometimes

Look like today is already starting off well!

  8. The same thing happened to me while in Egypt. Hubby and I were riding in a cab and we were holding hands and the cabbie kept looking at us in the rear view mirror. My husband said something to him in Arabic that I didn't understand. Later he told me he said for the cabbie to keep his eyes to the front that I was his wife. LOL.

Abdo and I were in a cafe in Alex with some of our friends, we were setting close and holding hands i had leaned over to say something to him and the next thing i knew the waiter was freaking out asking abdo please dont kiss or we would have to go

Another time we were setting near the beach across the street from our flat talking and watching the cars go by and we kissed, 2 young guys were crossing the street in front of us and yelled "look he kiss her in the street!!!"... Abdo laughed too hard and just kissed me again.

So he has never been bothered by PDA's when we would kiss at his moms house i noticed she looked a way a bit but would laugh at us

as for the jealous part.... my goodness he is sooooo jealous, thank god some of you have the same issue, granted im jealous too but he is "Egy Jealous"

  9. I'm Stacie and we live in Tallahassee, FL. For those in Pensacola area, my hubby wants to go to the airshow there on July 11th I think. Maybe we can meet up that weekend? Any thoughts???

Love those guys but i see it all the time.Any way they are fun to go to i hope yall have a blast. I work all day the 11th or i would love too meet up

  10. can we fatwah him?

oh by all means. And feel free to stick pins in my voodoo doll while you're at it. Just throw a little holy water at me while you exorcise my demons.

i was thinking more along the line of duct taping you to a chair and throwing you in a room filled with these

that is so sick and evil.

reminds me of the bar/grill i go to all the time for lunch, at the Tiki bar out side they have a toilet seat on the wall if you life the lid this is exactly what you see, i was amused

  11. What have you two done to prepare for his interview?

what have we not done? we have even picked the exact out fit to ear, we have wen over the questions 100 times. im sure it will be ok its just getting to the day

    Just have faith in Allah,

    InshaAllah everything will be fine!

    Inshallah

I can really empathize with you... my husband's interview is the day before your guy's. Maybe we can chat and talk each other down a bit. I think my contact info is in my profile, otherwise you can send me a message...

    Amy

oh my goodness, ya babe i'm sure you feel the same.... inshalla it will be perfect for us both!

  12. Thank god we have VJ.... only we know what its like to help support the other.

Thanks for the prayers every one going threw immigration, or gone threw it is in mine too.

what a long drawn out mess it is to come to the land of immigrants. I wonder how many law- makers family's would have never made it here if they had to go threw the same as us?
