Has anyone experienced a similar situation?
I entered the U.S. on a B-2 visa and applied for an extension before getting married, but the extension was denied after I was already married to a U.S. citizen. We now live in Nashville, TN.
We filed I-130, I-485, and I-864 together, received the receipts on November 14, and I’ve completed biometrics. After that, I received a Notice to Appear (NTA) for overstay, with immigration court scheduled in North Carolina (likely because my extension was filed while I stayed at my sister’s address there).
We’ve already contacted an immigration attorney, but I wanted to ask if anyone here has gone through something similar or can share what usually happens.
