  1. Isn't Trump rescinding that Medicaid rule -- where they don't use it against you -- that any benefits can be counted against you? I just wanted to be prepared because we just filed the petition and it could be a while, and that new policy could be in effect
  2. My kids are with me and my ex-wife 50% of the time. So it's shared custody. I was on Mediciad (through COVID - Extension) earlier this year back from 2019 even though I have my own insurance. They never checked for updated incomes, so I called and cancelled any welfare benefit under me. My kids are insured under my insurance but my ex-wife has them enrolled in Medicaid under her name, and I don't have ability to remove them. She enrolled in Medicaid with them years ago.
  3. I just filed the I129F Petition 2 weeks ago and in my particular case as the petitioner, my income is slightly above the income for a family of 4 at 125% FPL. I make enough for this but I also was concerned by the fact that I was on Medicaid (since 2017) and it was extended by COVID so never removed. I cancelled this benefit 4 months ago, before filing and it was only because of the COVID-Emergency they didn't check income, and I've had private health insurance for 3 years - and Medicaid was just an extra. I have 2 kids that are on Mediciad but through my ex-wife's and I can't remove them, because they are under my ex-wifes name -- if I call they say it's not under me by my ex. What could I show to the consular/do to strengthen my case --- we won't need public benefits and explain kids are on Medicaid through my ex but are on my health insurance policy. I wanted to know --- what should I present to the consular to show (my fiance won't be a public charge). I own a house that is almost paid off, have health insurance with my kids, and myself. How do I prove to them (the Medicaid) my kids are on, isn't under my name but my ex? What can I do to strengthen my case - though I was on benefits (through COVID emergency)? I make enough money, and there's no reason she would be a public charge under my insurance.
