I have been working as a Software Engineer on a contract basis (tax return 1099 form) remotely. I worked as a contractor with one company for three years, and now I’m working with another one. I’ve watched a bunch of mock interviews on YouTube, and now I’m a bit confused about how to correctly answer such questions: Where do you work? (place) I work remotely (my response) Who is your employer? I am self-employed (my response) Where have you worked for the last five years? I've been self-employed for the last five years. (I mean, I can’t say the name of the company I work for as a contractor, because I’m not an employee there — correct?)
