For this type of interview, no, is not any issue that you are not there.

what matters most, is the 'totality of the casefile'

CR-2 is a derivative visa, usually if the CR-1 was granted, the CR-2 will be also - unless is any issue on 'parent-child' relationship with the mother and child - usually these are 'handled' by -

1. showing a photo book of the mother and child OVER THE YEARS (birth to last week)

2. showing translated divorce document that covers the 'fostering' arrangement

--Child's name is listed

--Mother's name is listed

--foster arrangement at 100 percent, or 'solely' with the Mother, no Father involvement

3. if not 100 percent 'foster' in divorce decree, then a signed, stamped, translated 'permission' document from the father.

all on interview day.

to bring her daughter (my stepdaughter) to Florida.

When we get the interview my wife will fly to china and

accompany her to the interview.

Do you see any problem that I am not able to attend the interview as I am working?

I filed for a CR2 on 3/10/2010 for my 14 year old step daughter in China

I received an approval letter for the I130 on 7/08/2010 (NVC)

any idea how long until we get the package?

how long until we get her interview?

also when it arrives and leave the consulate in the beneficiary country.

Where do I get this information?

You can call NVC at 603 334-0700 to confirm that they have your case. They will tell you when they receive it and when it will be sent to USEM

My check was cashed on July 8th, my account was created on July 6th and my last update was July 11th.

Waiting for my NOA1 hard copy.

I am happy to know that they have all my paperwork and that the process has started.

Thanks to everyone who has posted on this thread.

I got my EAC# off the back of the check and was able to login to my account on the USCIS website.

Sorry was so excited that they cashed my check I got the month wrong.

My Check was cashed on Aug 8, my account was created on Aug 6 and my last update was Aug 11.

Timeline:

09-23-2007 met online

05-26-2008 spent 2 amazing weeks with Fiona in China

07-16-2008 sent K1 package to Vermont (waiting begins!!)

08-08-2008 check cashed

08-11-2008 touched (still wating for NOA1 hardcopy)
