  1. Good news! My fiancee received his visa today and we are both so happy. It has been a long and tough journey but we will finally be together. We started this process in November of 2006. He has had to travel from Mali to Dakar four times and had to face many delays from the embassy. I spent a total of $5,000 but now that does not matter to me. Now off to search for plane tickets!

  2. My fiancee was told to update his medical test results because they were about to expire and then take them to the embassy. That is the only thing he needed the CO told him and he would receive his visa. He went this morning to the embassy and took his passport and told him to pick it up on Tuesday. They did not tell him he was going to get a visa but gave him a green slip. I am hoping this is good news since they kept his passport?

  3. My fiancee's interview was in Dakar, Senegal and his visa was approved but he had to redo his medical test results as they expired in 10 days. He was told to drop those off and his passport would be held too for a couple of days and visa placed inside. He was told he would not need an appointment to drop those off. Would that mean he can just walk into the embassy any day the consular section is open and do that? The people at the embassy did not tell him any details. Hopefully someone on this site has been to the same embassy.

  4. Hello I would like to know if someone will be able to help me out on this problem:

My fiancee was told he will be getting his visa as soon as he gets his new medical test results in. He was told he does not have to make an appointment as his interview is done. Can he go to the embassy any day it is open and drop off the results and his passport? Passports are held for a few days and visa pickups are Tuesdays and Thursdays. We are both not sure how it works

  5. Thanks everyone for your suggestions. As soon as my fiancee gets back to Mali he will first go to the US embassy and see if they can help and point him in the right direction. He has asked the person in charge of police certificates before about writing a letter saying that police certificates are not available because he is a foreigner in the country and not a citizen but he would not even do that.

  6. HELLO

MY FIANCEE JUST HAD HIS INTERVIEW AND WAS TOLD THAT HE WILL BE ISSUED HIS VISA AS SOON AS HE GETS HIS POLICE CERTIFICATE FROM MALI. HE IS A REFUGEE FROM LIBERIA AND HAS HIS LIBERIAN POLICE CERTIFICATE BUT NEEDS A MALIAN ONE SINCE HE HAS LIVED THERE SINCE 2004. HE IS A RESIDENT IN MALI BUT IS REFUSED A MALIAN POLICE CERTIFICATE BECAUSE HE IS A FOREIGNER(THE POLICE TELL HIM THAT). ANYONE HERE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS COUNTRY AND WHAT CAN BE DONE?
