  1. Hi everyone, I’m currently the beneficiary in the K-1 visa process and we have already received our NOA1. I have a concern about my criminal record in Portugal. I was convicted of simple damage and attempted theft, with a suspended sentence of 3 years and 9 months, which ends in January next year (2026). It’s important to clarify that I was not the direct author of the acts, but was indirectly involved because I was dating the person who committed the crimes. Still, I received this suspended sentence. Since then, I have never had any further issues with the law. I’d like to know if anyone has experienced something similar or knows of such cases, and if this could lead to a K-1 visa denial, especially on “moral turpitude” grounds. I’m wondering if, since it wasn’t a violent offense and the sentence is suspended, there’s still a good chance of approval. Thank you so much for any guidance!
