  1. Hello Everyone. For those VCS filers who already got approved.. Did you get a mail or electronic announcements? If you got mail, was it mailed from the local office or VSC? Also for those who got RFE's, how far after filing you got them?

    Thanks and regards

Hello, I got my approval letter in a mail from St. Alban, VSC. I never got an email or txt from them even tho I signed up for it but today I received 3 emails at the same time from USCIS letting me know that they ordered my new greencard on Feb 13rd and it had already been mailed to me yesterday; Feb15th. Also my status on USCIS website was updated today to be approved, yesterday was "Initial Review". It took us 245 days total since we filed I-751.

    Good luck to you. ^^

  2. My fiance has a really messed up controlling family. If they find out that he is leaving, it may be over for us. My question is: Can his grandparents legally screw up this process? He is 21 years old, but he lives with them and they have connections to the government. Also, would it be a bad idea to warn the government that will try to ruin our case if they do find out? Would the government look down on this?

My family is 100% behind me, but his would not approve of anyone for him.

I would say, I have a very controlling family too. I really mean "Control," I can't even have a bf or "male" friends when I was in High school either or in college or I can't go shopping without one of my family members. 18 years old teenagers in America think that they can do ANYTHING they want but nope not for my family...18 means NOTHING. I have to wear certain clothes that they are ok with. Basically if you still live under their roof then you must follow their rules. I am from Thailand but I married in America when I was 23; got Bachelor's degree and got a job but still I had to ask for my family's permission. Since then they are not controlling my life anymore because now they know that I am mature enough to live my own life.

For my opinion, 21 years old for me is really young. I think it is time for him to sit down and speak with his grandparents explaining what, why, and when he wants to leave. He can't just leave without letting them know, that is "unexceptionable and unrespectful" for most Thai ppl. Thai government has nothing to do with your case.

  3. I feel ur pain, it took me 10 months to get a job even tho I live in a city. I searched everyday for a job through Careerbuilder.com and a few other websites, I applied every jobs that I was qualified for but there was no word, no nothing from them. I cried, couldn't sleep, couldn't eat, felt worthless, felt lonely, and felt like why I am here in the U.S. cuz it would be much better if i was in my home country. A lot of depression before I got a job I would say.

Eventually I got a job, it is a "OK" job, not that reat but I am happy with it.

Just hang in here, be patient, keep ur head high and keep looking for a job....one day you will get one.

Good luck to all of you.

  4. Any further word? I was just thinking of you and wondering. I hope you found out some positive information,

Thank you Brijo, I called and spoke with a supervisor on August 16th. I told him my situation and he explained just exactly same thing as the previous cutomer service I spoke with before on August 11th. But this time I insisted to put another service request and he did it for me. I haven't heard anything from them since, no reply email...nothing.

He also said I should email USCIS headquarter on August 31st if I still don't receive my BIO appointment.

I really don't know what to do.

  5. This is not pleasent

Did you try to escalate your case to talk to a supervisor or something?

Seriously, customer service are doing nothing but reading the little they have on screen.

    Try escalating, and update us.

    Good Luck

I think I will try again tomorrow. I have been so busy working 2 jobs, so I haven't had a chance to give them a call (again) yet. Thank you for your advice tho.

I hope you hear something soon. I also would INSIST to speak with the supervisor, and to call them daily until I would hear something positive.

Thank you very much, I will try again tomorrow.

  6. My update is.... it has been 61 days and I still don't receive my BIO appointment. 30 days ago I called to put a service request and the person told me that I should call back in 30 days if I still don't receive the appointment. So today(day 61) I called USCIS customer Service again and was told that nothing they can do, the only option for me is to wait and if I want to make another service request, I have to do it by myself.

    so frustrating right now.

    :(

  7. Well I cant fault the USCIS for the promptness of there reply to my service request. I received an e-mail some 3 hours later which included the following.

"U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records indicate that your biometrics appointment is pending due to limited capacity at your local Application Support Center (ASC). Once an appointment becomes available and you are scheduled, you will be mailed an appointment notice informing you of the date, time and location of your appointment. USCIS apologizes for the inconvenience and appreciates your patience."

I guess I just have to wait, seems strange that there is such a delay in Orlando seeing that they have recently moved into a nice new bigger building ???

Hi there! My local service office is also at the Orlando one. For me, it has been 32 days already waiting on ASC appointment. I called NCSC and got the same email as you did. I am getting impatient at this point.

  8. My husband was deployed to Iraq for 15 months, it was hard to see him go and work everyday no day off/ worked more than 12 hours a day.

What I can tell you is you have to be patient, try to think positive, and stay faithful to your love one. Separation sometimes can drive you insane but you have to be strong. If you have a job then that should help a bit but I didn't have a job at the time, so I tried to stay busy by doing yard work, crafting and some other things. My husband called me everyday eve tho he was extremely tired, I would always tell him that I love him and waiting for him patiently and don't be worried about me.

Sometimes next year he will be deployed again........

  9. 31 days have passed, I still don't get my ASC appointment. I called NCSC and they emailed me this

"The status of this service request is:

Our records indicate that your biometrics appointment is pending due to limited capacity at your local Application Support Center (ASC).  We will schedule an appointment for you when a time becomes available at the ASC and mail you an appointment notice.  We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience."

Well, I guess nothing else I can do except waiting......

Orlando immigration office must be really busy :(

  10. Still no bio appointment letter for us... and our case is still not found online on uscis.gov either so there is no way I could at least give a tiny bit of update on our case . :(

Don't be upset, I am still waiting on my bio appointment also, my receipt date on NOA is 06/10/2011..... I called USCIS, they told me it could take us 30 days to get it. If not, call them again.

  11. Yeah Yeah, they couldn't prove OJ did it either.

Simpson, I am not trying to argue with you or anything. This is just my opinion "for this topic." Personally I believe that Casey is guilty but they have to find her not guilty because of lacking of the evidence. and I'm not going to argue about OJ's case.
