how r u all??? i need suggestions plzzz.my husband was born in karachi and he lived his entire life in karachi,but diiferent addresses but all his addresses are in same police jurisdiction so he only had to get one police certificate but today when he got his police certifiacte they put his address thats on his NIC and states that he lived in this adress from 1998 to 2003 but nothing about after 2003 and now there are saying we can not do anything about this we can only put NIC address so i am confused nvc can ask that question that wht happened after 2003 why it does not mention on police certi wht should i do????????

Yes. This is what they will tell you first. Take a copy of DS-230 to them and show your history of addresses you lived in. If that does not work ask Quaid-e-Azam to intervene on your behalf ... it works every time ... if you know what I mean.

Hello. I still disagree of what u said on this forum. Its maybe the NVC sets the interview date, but its the USEM still has the power to send appointment letter and not NVC. I noticed in your signature that after consulate received your case, it was the time only that you had your interview date which will be on March 25. Its only very clear that USEM sets and send interview letter. Actually, I was confused on your post, I guess, you have to review and ask if who really send appointment letter...if its NVC or USEM...if its NVC, then...thank you and if USEM, the you are a liar. If you are correct then il believe you, but if not...then I may say that someone like you entered in this furom with lack of knowledge about visa. Good Luck on your wife interview.

It is interesting to see how you are bent on providing incorrect information to people. Stop being an expert on CR1/IR1 when in fact you are following the K1 track. At most embassies NVC schedules and directly sends the interview letters for all CR1/IR1 cases to both the beneficiary and the petitioner.

One police certificate from each district he lived in. He has to find out which district police station applies for each of his residences and get a certificate from there.

Didn't pay the Visa Application bill. I got an email saying the DS-3032 was accepted today, and that NVC would be sending the Visa Application Fee, so I logged onto the Online Fee website, and saw that the bill was available to be paid. I wanted to make sure that I could pay it, before NVC even sends me the bill in the mail.

DO NOT PAY THE BILL if the operator is saying that the bill has not been generated. Just because the bill is available online does not mean it has been generated. Wait until an operator can confirm. If you pay it online before it is actually generated it will cause problems. It happened with me and caused a delay of more than a week to sort it out.

I know it does not quite make any sense, but that is the way their system is.

Phew...so finally after having screwed up couple of weeks in the process because of some confusion, I finally mailed the DS230 And AOS packets today (overnight). Now I have a questions, couple actually. How long will they take to complete the case? And secondly, what is our interview date look like according to you guys, since you all know waaaaaaaaaay more than me. Are they gonna schedule us for March or April? To me personally, I can wait till April as well, it is not that far away, only couple of months (but certainly an "engagement-anniversary-gift' would be nice before the 15th of March. Would love that. And btw, our consulate/embassy is in Nairobi, Kenya. Anyone else with the same? Help me brothers and sisters with your ideas so I can get an idea of what to expect and when to expect.

If you do not get an RFE, You should probably get a case complete sometime next week. You will not be considered for a March interview as the NVC will be done scheduling for March by 2/13/2009. They will most likely schedule you for April during the second week of March.

NVC just told me that they have scheduled by wife for March 19th. Yay!!

Yes, a K3 visa also requires a passport clearance.

I do not think he will need it if he has a Pakistani passport.

Hello! Does K3 require a passport clearance letter too?

This is the first time I am hearing this. What is a "passport clearance certificate"? I am guessing it is a requirement specific to the US Embassy in India.

My case was finally complete ... phew!! Now, on to Islamabad embassy very soon. NVC says that they will schedule for march by next week, so I should check in about 10 days.

The message is like the Affidavit of Support RFE, but one part is not the same.. it says..

"The NVC has reviewed your packet of forms and found information missing or incomplete" but it doesn't say "on your financial information" like most people who get an RFE for the I 864... so I am guessing this is probably just requesting the DS 230?

I am getting exactly the same message ... not sure what could have been missing. Together with I864 I sent them six recent pay stubs, 05, 06 and 07 tax returns w/ W2s as well as employment authorization letter.

I've gotten 4 letters from NVC, all with different dates ranging from 1/9-1/15 stating that our k3 will be forwarded to the consulate "within a week"

anyone else get multiple letters like this? just curious

Yeah! I got two letters with dates three days apart, saying the same thing for my K3.

Okay. so I called again today and asked if NVC generated the IV fee bill, since they received my DS-3032, to which NVC rep said that they do not generate IV fee bill until they receive the AOS documentation. I am a little puzzled, because from my understanding of the process, the IV fee bill is generated after DS-3032 is received by them, isn't it?

I am finalizing the AOS documentation. Wanted to know if photocopies of Paystubs will do or originals must be sent.

Hey everyone! My I-129F and I-130 were both approved January 6th! Woo hoo!

I'm preparing all the documents, and calling NVC everyday. Autmomated info still has "no record of my information". How long should I wait,

or should I talk to an actual agent on the phone?

You should talk to an operator first thing on Monday. Also, if you have not already, read the LingChe guide now.

Operator told me that my AOS and DS-3032 have been generated and that the NVC has sent the I-129 to the embassy. However, they would not give out the Invoice Identification Number (IIN); I have called them at least 5 times for that since then.

waithatter, do you know if there is one IIN for both the AOS and the IV fee bills or these are two different numbers I will be looking for?

Any ideas on how long will it take for DS3032 to be generated? My NVC number was generated today. Do you think if I send out the DS3032 by standard US mail today it will get their in enough time for the DS3032 to be generated? I do not want to waste a second.

I called in the VSC and the representative said that both my cases were approved! I am jubiliated! BTW, there were no updates online, or on the phone system.

How come you are sending documents directly to the US Embassy instead of NVC??

they want the ORIGINAL MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE IN THE LANGUAGE OF THE COUNTRY WHERE THE INTERVIW WILL TAKE PLACE. I sent in first, only the ENGLISH version, and needed to have hubby send me the ORIGINAL Arabic one, because it got us an RFE! Be Cautious and send as many originals as possible!!!

Thank you WaitingforRakesh and ARALB. In Pakistan it is difficult to get the original let alone getting TWO originals of each document. I guess I have no choice but to ask my wife to risk sending in the originals and retain photocopies of the same, just in case.

Our original marriage certificate was in English (we had a choice to use either Urdu or English at the time of marriage), although the language of the country is Urdu. We opted to use the English certificate precisely with immigration paperwork in mind. Please, somebody tell me that this is not going to be a problem.

The state department says that they need the "original" or "certified" copies of the following:

Birth Certificate

Marriage Certificate

Photocopy of Valid Passport Biographic Data Page

Police Certificate(s)

What would "certified" mean, especially in the context of Pakistan. Would a Notary Public certification of Birth and Marriage Certificates be enough?
