  1. Our K-1 visa status on CEAC recently changed to "Approved" but the K-2 status (4 year old daughter) is still stuck at "Application Received." Has anyone else experienced this? Do you know how long it might be until K-2 changes to Approved? I'm only concerned becuase we are on such a tight schedule / need to fly out by the end of this month (July) due to pregnancy flight restrictions. Thanks!
  2. top_secret Thank you for your comment! Of course you are right, it is not late, per se, there is just so much riding on it that it is hard not to overtink and imagine the worst case scenario. Hopfully it will be issued very soon. Thank you for taking the time to offer your advice.
  3. Elitevaz, thank you for this comment. May I ask, have you received notice that your visas are ready for pickup? That is my other big worry, we are on a tight deadline (pregnancy) and need to be on a plane to America no later than the end of July. However. After 10 business days, visas have not been issued.
  4. Thank you so much for your reply! Baby is due Sept 3-13, but mom can't fly in the month of August for saftey / airline reasons. No airline will let a pregnant woman fly after 35 weeks of pregnancy (of the 40 week term). Once baby is born, my understanding is we need birth certificate and a CRBA so we can get the baby a US passport form the US Embassy or consulate. CRBA allows us to get a US passport for the baby, and, as far as I know, every person needs a passport to travel internationally on an airplane. Right? The link you sent correctly states states the baby does not need a visa, because, as a US citizen, he's free to "return" home without one. The completion of the CRBA qualifies baby as a US citizen, and thereby makes him eligible for a US passport. Though I will have to read some of the link more carefully, as perhaps there is an exception?
  5. Thank you, appleblossom. I read, though, that an extension is a ####### shoot, not guaranteed. Do you have any additional info on this topic or know where I might look?
  6. We were approved June 24, 2025. Tomorrow is 10 business days since then, but still our CEAC status is "Case Received" not "Approved" or better yet, "Issued." Fiancé is 7, almost 8 months pregnant. After the end of this month (July) she can't fly due to airline restrictions/health of the mother. Our visa expires October 28, 2025. So, If I don't get notice that visa were issued in the next few days we miss the July window, baby is born in Philippines, and we have to hope birth certificate / CRBA can be done between due date (Sept 3-13) and visa expiration (Oct. 28). A highly unlikely timeline. Very discouraged. I've sent inquiries to both US Embassy and to US Travel Docs about an hour ago, and will start calling the Embassy tonight (Philippine’s daytime). Any suggestions??? We will be absolutely crushed and heartbroken if our visa expires and we have to start all over again - the time, the expense, the heartache of being apart from my fiancé, her 4 year old daughter, and our newborn son for 1.5 to 2 more years is too much.
  7. Thank you for this reply. Exactly, you put so much work into something then they don't ask for it.
  8. I’m a US citizen and I’m petitioning for a K1 visa on behalf of my Filipina fiancé. We were delayed twice, once (May 20, 2025) for not having an original / certified copy of my divorce decree, and once (June 10) for having a typo / discrepancy between the DS 160 and the appointment receipt. Each delay was devastating, yet we persevered and our visa application was finally approved at the Manila Embassy on June 24, 2025. However, the delays have cost us dearly. My fiancé is pregnant, due September 13, and can’t fly after the end of July – for safety reasons, no airline will let her fly after the 35th week of pregnancy, which lines up, more or less, with the last week in July. So, we need to be on an airplane to the US by the last week of July at the latest. If not, we risk our visa expiring and having to start the entire process over again – a very bad outcome. The consulate my fiancé interviewed with said the visa would be ready for pickup in “two weeks,” but didn’t offer any further guidance. Things I’ve read online all say some variation of 5-10 business days, which would be July 1 (today) to July 9, accounting for the 4th of July holiday. I’ve also read that the speed of issuing the actual visa has a lot to do with the speed of the consulate that you interviewed with, and that no two cases are the same. Assuming there are no other delays (a BIG assumption), does the community have any feeling on when we might get notice the visas are ready for pickup? I obviously can’t buy plane tickets or plan anything until I know they’ve been issued and the entire thing is quite stressful. Any guidance is greatly appreciated!
  9. I’m a US citizen and I’m petitioning for a K1 visa on behalf of my Filipina fiancé. After a number of delays, our visa application was finally approved at the Manila Embassy on June 24, 2025. I’m concerned that during the process, no one at the Embassy asked for any of the financial documents I had prepared – 6 months of paystubs, 6 months of bank statements, and 3 years of tax returns, plus completed and signed I-134 forms for my fiancé and her young daughter (K2). When I look around the internet there are no good answers, only the vague idea that for whatever reason, the consul that interviewed my fiancé used discression. For whatever reason, he wasn’t too worried about my finances. Should I be worried? Will there be another opportunity to submit this documentation, or am I just overthinking?
