Had to go digging fairly heavily to find this because the form instructions do point that a CLPR who turned 14 is not required to file, but I wasn't sure why exactly (instructions and policy manual also suck for very specific edge cases), so here you go:

    https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-8/chapter-I/subchapter-B/part-264/section-264.5

    (b)  Permanent residents required to file. A permanent resident shall apply for a replacement Permanent Resident Card:

    (8) When the bearer of the card reaches the age of 14 years, unless the existing card will expire prior to the bearer's 16th birthday

Since she's got it when she was still 13, and it's valid for 2 years, it will expire shortly before her 16th birthday, so she's not required to file because the card will expire before her sweet 16. So unless the card gets lost or destroyed, the next form to file will be I-751 when that's due.

WOW thank you so very much, really appreciate it

Okay, so the question is: What are you trying to do exactly and what is the reason you cannot find on the form?

The form gives you 2 options (lawful permanent resident and conditional permanent resident), my understanding is lawful is 10 year greencard holder and conditional is 2 years, we are 2 years but when I check this option I can't complete the form as it doesn't give me the option as our renewal being for turning 14.

  3. We are conditional green card holders and on form I90 under conditional it doesn't give us options to select with her turning 14 as our reason. My understanding is lawful permanent residents are 10 year greencard holders so we can't select that option in order to continue with form. So I'm not sure how to continue in order to keep her status current.

  4. Hi all, we received our conditional green card (valid for 2 years) on May 14 and my daughter turned 14 on May 23. When I tried filling out form I90 under conditional permanent resident it doesn't give me options to continue the form for the reason we need. At our green card interview the officer said we don't have to do anything for 2 years until she removes conditions. What do we do? We have til the 23rd to figure this out and I am getting no straight answers. Thank you
