Good news! My wife is here in Phoenix now. We had interview on March 2, visa issued March 4, received by delivery service March 6, and we flew to Los Angeles then Phoenix on March 7. So now I am looking for some companions for my wife and some filipino grocery stores and restaurants. Any suggestions please post. Thank you... :)

  2. K3 Interview done March 2. Visa issued on March 4. Visa received from deliver service March 6. Left Manila evening of march 7th and arrived in Los Angeles at 6:30 pm same day. My sweeheart is home here with me in Arizona now and we just got back from sightseeing today....

    Hi Flamecutter,

I saw your other thread. Your wife will be here soon. Congratulations to you, in advance.

Thank you for the note. Is there a phillipine community in or around phoenix? I want my asawa to feel comfortable and have some friends from phillipines there.h

  4. I am here with my wife in Manila helping her with all the final documents for her Interview on March 2. I have planned to stay until March 7th assuming we would have Visa by then and we could leave for US so I won't have to take more time from work and come back another trip. She lives in Mindanao so it wouldn't make sense to have it delivered to her place there since we are in Manila now. I was wondering if I should have the Visa delivered to our hotel or can I ask to just pick up at embassy when approved? If it takes longer than 5 days to approve then maybe I should leave for US and back to work for a couple of weeks on 2nd after the interview and return later when Visa approved? Can I find out how long Visa will take for approval at the interview? Not sure what is best way to go.. How long did it take VJ couples for average to get Visa approved after interview??

  5. hi all,

Welcome to one of the hottest (I mean hot!) cities in the US!!! Avondale is just a few minutes drive to Phoenix, Glendale and Scottsdale.

    We live in Mesa, Arizona.........

  6. Yes I agree. My asawa does her laundry by hand with soap also and she has never used a washing machine. I showed her mine in the webcam and I explain it to her I think she is interested in it hehe. Also having a glass cooktop range is interesting to her in the webcam because she only has a charcoal grill there in her home in Mindanao.

I have been there to her place 7 times over the past 12months and try to get visa things done every time. It's been a long process because she didn't even have a postal ID when we started. Also her birth certificate we had to hire an attourney to get fixed because it listed her as a male o.O

Anyway, after one year now we have everything in order, we are married in Phil and she even has a passport and bank account now in her married name. We have embassy interview for k3 visa in March 2. I have been planning to get a place there in phil near her family home so we can spend time there as well, I know she will miss her family.

As a very white american it's interesting but I do like kinilau, fried and baked fish, lechon, rice, and even balat.....

I could easily live in Phil as long as I can travel often if I get bored.

I have been here in the Philippines working my wife's visa from here. I was just wondering if any other American/ Foreign husbands are doing the same and what are you looking forward to about bringing your wife to your country? I know for me it will be the washing machines! LOL. I just can't get use to my wife washing the clothes by hand, working so hard to keep our things clean. It really bothers me that here that women work so hard. I try to imagine one of my daughters living like a Filipina, OMG they would have collapse heheheh.
