I have been a GC Holder since 2012 and I’ve been going back and forth to my home country until 2020 because I had a college scholarship.
I was outside the US for more than 6 months and less than 1 year due to COVID Restrictions
- Dec 7, 2019 to Nov 30, 2020
and then I had another travel
- Mar 1, 2021 to May 23, 2021
I have never left the US since then and I am planning to file for my N-400 soon.
From what I’ve read in this link:
https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-12-part-d-chapter-3
My new “Statutory Period” is Nov 30, 2020 and I can file for my N-400 as early as 6 months before the 5 year anniversary which would be May 30, 2025.
If anyone could help, please confirm if my calculations are correct. And if can I can actually file my N-400 on June 1, 2025?
And if it’s right, follow up question is.
When filing for N-400, Under Part 8 Time Outside the US.
- Should I put the Date I left and return the US as Dec 7, 2019 to Nov 30, 2020?
- or put in Jun 1, 2020 to Nov 30, 2020 since it’s less than 6 months from my new statutory period?
Regardless, I would still have to put my travel from Mar 1, 2021 to May 23, 2021.
If anyone could please answer these questions, I would really appreciate it and it would help me a lot on my journey. Thank you!
