Hello everyone, I am currently navigating the immigration process and would love to connect with someone in a similar situation. I originally entered the U.S. with a valid visa and was able to legally stay until October 31, 2021. However, I overstayed my visa and departed the country on September 13, 2022, meaning I was in the country illegally for just over 10 months. Therefore, I am subject to the 3-year bar for unlawful presence (more than 180 days but less than 1 year). I married a U.S. citizen outside the United States, and we are now in immigrant visa processing. My I-130 was approved, and we have applied for the I-601 waiver. We are currently in the NVC phase, hoping for a positive outcome. I would really appreciate hearing from others who: • Have gone through the I-601 process from outside the US • Are dealing with the 3-year bar (not the 10-year bar) • Can share timelines, experiences, advice, or moral support.
