My wife had her IR1 visa interview yesterday in the Naples embassy and it went very well. The consul said that everything looked ok and asked for her CV and said “as soon as I have received it I can issue the visa”. He kept her passport. We immediately sent in the CV, but of course no response the same day. We are now extremely stressed out wondering if we are now going to be on an endless administrative processing because of a CV for a spousal visa which is beyond ridiculous. She’s married to a US citizen. We halfway expected this because she is from Iran but we submitted ample proof with our first application she has zero ties to their government. Hopefully someone can help answer some questions:
Is it a good thing that they solely checked the box that lists “We require additional information” and not “Your application requires administrative processing”?
Can we put some trust in the consul’s words that it will be issued as soon as they receive it?
Any reassurance in all this would be greatly appreciated. It’s been 1.5 years+ of wait and we can’t take another endless process without going crazy.
