  1. I forgot to add that our joint sponsor also submitted in addition to the signed letter, a "revised form I-864", and on "Part 6" of the form he added only his own finances and backed it up with his W-2. On the initial I-864 he wrote the total finances as reflected the their joint file tax with his wife. So he had to revise that with only his funds. This is to help anyone in a similar situation with us.
  2. Hi everyone Just wanted to put an update on the issue we had with I-864A, where the spouse of our joint-sponsor declined to sign. We appreciate all the advice and counsel we got here. Our joint sponsor submitted a signed letter explaining his independent finances are sufficient to sponsor and he is not using wife's funds Even thou they file tax jointly. He submitted letter with evidence of paystubs. It was accepted and we got DQ today. Thank you all for the constant support.
  3. Thank you and yes she does. We have CRBA & applied for US passport.
  4. True. Excuses wasn't the right word to use there. Our joint sponsor will try writing to NVC with evidence of paystubs and w-2 , that only his personal independent finances is sufficient ( he is above the 125% criteria) and only his finances should be applied to the application. If that doesn't work, then we will put it on hold till she is able to go back and work.
  5. She paid an immigration lawyer( complete requested fee) before leaving the US, to see us through the application. Lawyer saw us through I-130 Approval. Got notification from NVC in January, but lawyer kept a very poor communication with us, gave us a questionnaire, we filled and sent all necessary documents. But lawyer stopped responding to all our mails ( no problems from us, only request for updates) in April and still hasn't filled or submitted application to NVC. So we decided to continue on our own. That's why we are here looking for solutions now. And we appreciate the response and engagement so far. Thanks
  6. Thank you so much for your well structured input and advice. I appreciate. My wife went to the became a LPR through employment as an RN and later a USC after some years of work. She worked as a travel nurse to many states and did not have a permanent place, as well as traveling back and forth from US to Nig. cos of marriage and a child during the period. Thou she is very quite and private she made few friends, some of whom didn't meet the criteria for joint sponsor and some decline. Only person that accepted (wife declined i-864a). She left US in 2023 immediately after she became a USC so I could fully participate in our second child birth ( first of which I missed and she did it alone). We gave birth to our baby preterm and still needs frequent and constant attention. We appreciate all the advice and we will try all available options open to us. Thank you
  7. True and thanks. We will try our chance. While considering the other option mentioned

  12. No I'm not a student. I'm working presently in Nigeria, just working on the visa process with my spouse who is a USC but temporarily residing with me in Nigeria, till the visa process is done
  13. Thank you. The joint sponsors i-864 has been accepted, but After submitting tax documents, they now ask for i-864A. Biggest challenge is we can't find another joint Sponsor. Few person's we know all gave excuses why they can't do it. It took us a while to find only this joint sponsor who has agreed to support us. Has writing a letter worked for anyone before, we could try that.
  14. Help! Joint sponsors spouse decline to sign form i-864A. Joint sponsor makes sufficient funds independently (an MD), but files tax jointly with his spouse. nvc asked for i-864a from spouse but declined to sign. Don't know anyone else who can be a joint sponsor. This is the only person we got. Would appreciate suggestion for best course of action. Thanks
