  1. A conditional resident may file to remove conditions while living abroad - this would be allowable in your case since you will have active government orders (the other exception would be Active Duty Military). Essentially most steps are the same as if you lived here in the US except you would need to include some extra initial evidence (particularly related to the biometrics).

Once granted - you would have a 10-year non-conditional PR/Green Card. There is a better explanation on the instructions pages of the I-751.

Thanks for the quick response.....That sounds good to me

  2. Please help:

My husband is Us citizen and I ( German citizen) received my temporary Green Card a year ago so I won't be able to file for Lifting of Condition for almost 9 months. Now however my husband was offered a job in the UK for 3 years. He is a civilian Contractor and we would be on official Orders. So here is my questions. How will I be able to keep my status????

After everything we went through with USICS I hate to go through everything again 3 years from now...any advise???

  3. Greeting everybody.

We had our AOS Interview this morning at the local Denver Office and it was by far my most pleasant experience with Immigration ever.

The officer was so nice and friendly...everything went super smooth and quick. Just a few questions how we met and when, a few questions about my previous entries into the US because the I-94 from them where appaerently not there and than the copy of 2008 taxes, proof of income and so on. Had a nice chat about our wedding..showed some pictures , which she loved and that was it. Even received a I-551 Stamp in my passport afterv I mentioned that my Dad is havinf surgery next week in Germany so I will be able to travel should I need to before my GC arrives in the mail.

Over all awesome and big kuddos.

So now we are done for almost 2 years and than on to the next one incl. citizenship.....yeahhh

  4. Hi all,

it has been quite a while since I posted something.......

well I just want to know under what circumstances it would be possible to pick up a K1 Visa in persoon at the Frankfurt Consulate.I e mailed the Consulate and they told me that decision would be made during the Interview on Wednesday......

Frankfurt has been extremly helpful in our very difficult case ,but that question they couldnt answer.....Also is there a waiting time when I get the Visa until I can use it? I plan to fly out the day after I have received the Visa.

    Thanks for any info

    Nat

    Hi Nat,

yes you can. I picked up my K-1 in Person in Frankfurt as well. Just tell them that is what you would like to do and they will leave the Visa with the envelope for you at the entrance at a certain time for you to pick up. Also you can use it right away. I used mine 2 days later to enter the US.

    Good luck

  5. Just a quick note on that subject....I also received that letter from Frankfurt a few days ago but you know that is their Packet 3 !!!!!!!!!!!

They are either to lazy or to cheap to include the printed forms for you to fill out, that you have to return to them. All they do is refer to their website and tell you to follow instructions....so if you have everything ready than do not wait for them to send you anything else in the mail as they will not contact you again until they receive your completed packet 3 from you.

As far as the police records are concerned if they are in german and you go to the u.s. consulate in Germany for your interview than you do not need a translation.

Hope this helps and good luck

  6. Ok..here is my question

I received my cover letter from the Frankfurt Consulate in the mail today.

    Package 3 ..yuhu.. but

..... it just stated to go to their website for further instructions,

which I did but am now am totally confused as to which forms I need to return to them immidiatly so they can send me my package 4 and schedule my interview and medical.

So if I understand correctly I need to send back my signened instruction sheet, my DS-210 part 1

    DS- 156 and 156f

    Correct ?
