  1. Congrats Asolana, That is awesome news

Well I received a letter in response to my Service Request on the 30th of Sept; it says nothing except that my case us resumed and I should receive a decision or response within 60 days of the letter. :(

Thanks Steph, I am almost sure that you are the next one on getting awesome news :D I'll keep you in my mind and prays.

    Take care

Today I received my green card in the mail, I feel so happy and relieved, it was a long time to get it, I hope everybody will get theirs very very soon too!!!

Congrats asolana! Now you are officially done with USCIS for some time :)

Thanks, yup I know what you mean, see yah in 2 years USCIS!! lol

    Take care :)

  2. YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Today was our interview at the local office and it went really well, the lady was very polite and nice and she approved my GC right away, it was very simple, she just asked us where we met and when we started living together and stuff like that, very fast, like 10 minutes and then all of a sudden she asked me if she could see my EAD and I gave it to her and she said, ok so you won't need this anymore so I'll keep it for you, what I'm gonna do is order production of your green card for 2 years and she put a provisional stamp on my passport, I am so happy that now I can go to Spain and visit my family.

    Take care everyone

  3. i'm glad to see lots of approvals and maybe some of the members in this thread has moved on and are busy job hunting....just want an opinion from you guys, my AOS was last touched on June 12 couple of days after we sent back the RFE. EAD and AP are already approved but AOS wasn't touched after that. No letter stating transfer to CSC so im guessing we're being processed in NBC. It's been 2 months (60 days) since the last touch. Should I call them or just wait another month? I have this feeling that maybe they lost it, or it got buried under new files or whatever lame excuse they can come up with. Should I call or should I wait????

    thanks....

Well I'd say it hasn't been so long, not every case is transfered to California, I've seen that green cards that require an interview take up to 6 months, some of them even a year, check the processing times at uscis.gov so you can have an idea.

Actually you don't lose anything if you just call USCIS and ask them when is your priority date for your adjustment of status application, they'll give you an estimate date.

    Good Luck

  4. Steph, Ellla, we are experiencing the same thing: waiting AP, EAD and so on.

My daughter is admitted by colleges, but she is considered as no-resident and has to pay international out-state tuition even though we live here more than one year and pay tax.

She can not go back Canada/study there and can not study here, can not get financial aid here, can not find a job here!

I want to give up and bring my husband and daughter back to Canada! Too much stress on me.

    Sorry for my venting.

I felt the same way than you, I wanted to move back to Barcelona with my wife and son but when I felt like it wasn't going to work it's when I received my EAD and that gave me hope, you'll see everything will get better when you less expect it ;)

My case has been a nightmare though, the first time I applied which was in February, they returned everything because of a problem in the money order, then after that, there was a huge delay on my case because the post office returned a few letters they sent me and after that I got a RFE, it was 6 months to get my EAD and it sucked but now at least I can work.

    Don't give up :)

I wish you the best of the best and I'll pray for you

    Take care

  5. So we got our RFE today in the mail. Apparently they are stating that we didn't send in the medical exam which we did. So, just wondering... are they going to cause us more trouble when we send it in and it was May of last year 2007? Seeing as they want one within a year. We did file in April though so it should be sufficient. All it states is that they need the medical exam, and it had to be by a civil surgeon on the approved list. We did it in London at the doctors office they make you go to for the K-1. And sent the supplement form that you can send. It doesn't state anything about anything specifically being missing like vaccinations or anything like that, just they are trying to basically say we didn't send one?

that's ###### up, I guess you'll have to do it again, if you want to find a civil surgeon authorized by USCIS near you go to their website and search for civil surgeons locator ;)

call a couple of them and ask about the price, I didn't have any vaccination records so the doctor had to inyect me all the vaccines again but it was just like $320 for everything.

  6. So, just a quick update.

I got the RFE in the mail today, and its what I thought. They didn't even look at the 200+ pages of Evidence of Assets I sent them which was looked over by a lawyer. They Just sent out another RFE about the I864!

After fighting back a lot of frustration and a few tears, I do have a close friend that has offered to act as a Joint Sponsor.

Sooooo, we are starting the I864 with the Joint Sponsor and hope to get that all to them within a week or so.

Lesson learned, USCIS does not mean one thing they say on their website. If it requires them to look at any additional pages or items they are not "quite familiar with" they will send you an RFE. (I am assuming that since they are on this big "PUSH" and hired all these new people there are still "GREEN" adjucators. I seriously probably know more about some of this stuff then they do.

    Ok Venting done! :)

It's good you have a joint sponsor now =] I'm pretty sure this time will be the good one, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, I was in the same situation and know how it feels but you'll see this time you'll get good news from USCIS ;)

    #### USCIS, hopefully we'll all receive our green cards soon so we don't have to deal with them anymore

  7. So I'm waiting for my RFE Letter, and I check the USCIS website and my I485 was touched. :o:o

What do you all think is going on? Do you think they sent the RFE by accident not realizing they already sent me one? My heart just skipped a beat.

Oh and CONGRATS TO EVERYONE! APRIL's a lucky month.

Hopefully it wil be just a mistake, but 2 weeks before they sent me my RFE, they started touching my I-485 almost every day, I thought it was something good but it was that #######.

wish you the best of luck Steph, take care

  8. So, I went on the USCIS website to check and see if we had been touched again today. I didn't receive any notices from them, but I clicked on it to see if there was a status update as it was touched again today. Instead of saying it's now pending at the service center to which it was sent, it says that they've sent us an RFE. Wonderful! Probably for something completely ridiculous! Anyone know how long it normally takes to receive an RFE after it's sent?

that sucks, I'd say the time depends on the postal service to deliver but definitely not more than a week, hopefully it's nothing really serious.

    Good luck

  9. Thanks all!

I've been thinking. They received my 1st RFE response on Friday the 1st in the morning, is it even possible that they would send an RFE for the same reason in that amount of time? 1 1/2 working days?

    Thoughts Anyone?

maybe, now that's the second time you receive a RFE I strongly recommend you to go with an immigration attorney, they really help, he did everything for me when I received the RFE, I just had to sign, He'll make sure that everything is correct so there will be no problems, google a few near you, there are some that are not very expensive, there's a place near here called international institute and they give free immigration consultings so try to find something like that where you live.

    Best wishes

  10. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I received my EAD in the mail today =D I am so excited, tomorrow I'll get my social security number, I still can't believe it, lol.

June 30, CRIS E-mail Card production ordered

Today August 4, CRIS E-mail Card mailed out

Today, August 4, Received card in the mail

It was sent a day after it was ordered on August 1st though so it didn't take so long to get here

    Good luck to everyone!!!

Yeah, same thing happened with me. Got the card the same day I got the email.

Now it's just waiting for the interview letter. But I'm not really concerned about that, I just wanted the card to be able to get back to work.

Haha, yeah same thing here, I really just wanted to work, not really care about the green card because I don't have plans to go outside the states right now or anything so that's why I am so happy and excited, lol.

Hopefully we'll also receive our green cards soon so we don't have to deal anymore with USCIS, they can really be a pain in the ###.

    take care

  12. CONGRATULATION EVERYONE!!!

they received my RFE response and now I am patiently waiting for the email from CRIS saying that my case processing has resumed.

good luck, I am sure you will get it very soon as well as your EAD =]

patience is they key, when you feel you're giving up, is when you always get the good things, haha, at least that's how I felt.

but yeah be patient and you'll see everything will be fine when you less expect it

  13. Hey everybody

My EAD was approved July 30th and they sent me an e-mail that said card production ordered, then today, August 4th, they sent me another e-mail that says:

Application Type: I765 , APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION

    Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On August 4, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

I am just curious if the letter they mailed is just the approval notice but not the EAD card, from your experience guys what does this mean? haha I am just so anxious to receive my card and I can't wait to see it.

Thanks so much for your help and Good luck to everyone!!!

  14. RFE packet has been received at Lee's Summit, MO.

    Let the processing continue!

Congratulations to all the APPROVALS! Yes, that earthquake must have shook things up there at the CSC. LOL

that's good =] I hope you will receive great news very soon.

I received the EAD approval e-mail 33 days after they sent me an e-mail that said the case processing was resumed, which was like 4 days after I sent it son it took 37 days to hear good news, you can have an idea, hopefully yours will take less time!!

Btw I was talking about my RFE

    good luck

  15. My patience has paid off - I got a CRIS email that the EAD card production was ordered yesterday. This is only half the way though - I'll believe it when I have the card in my hands. After that, my next step is learning to drive and getting my first driver's license. And looking for a job in the meantime.

To all April filers and everyone else still waiting - hang in there. Wishing everyone a smooth process and best of luck!

you just gave me hope as well, they asked me for a RFE about I-864 and then they sent me an e-mail that says case processing resumed on june 26th, it's now a month so hopefully I will get my EAD soon!!! haha I can not wait, it's been a lot of time and patience that sometimes I feel like going back to my country.

Congrats on the EAD and I wish you the best of luck!!

  16. OH, here is the clause I was looking for in regards to liquidating assets within a year.

"Assets may supplement income if the consular or immigration officer is convinced that the monetary value of the asset could reasonably be made available to support the sponsored immigrant and converted to cash within one year without undue harm to the sponsor or his or her family members.

    Hi steph

I received a similar RFE a little while ago so I strongly recommend you to go to with an immigration attorney just to make sure everything will be fine and hopefully your case will be processed faster, here in Boston theres an organization called the International Institute and they give immigrantion consultings for $25 the half hour, maybe google something like that wherever you live, it may help, good luck!!!

  17. Hey Steph

Actually I got a few touches days before I got the letter in the mail, I was so excited because I thought they were about to approve my EAD =[ but yesterday my wife checked our mailbox and we were so nervous to open it because we didn't expect anything from them and it was that damn RFE.

Today we went to an InfoPass appointment and they told us that we just have to re-submit the I-864, one made by my wife and the other one by her uncle who is the co-sponsor. I hope I will get my work permit soon.

Good luck to you and hopefully you will get your EAD soon!!

Wish you good luck and hopefully it will be sorted out soon

Thanks!!! wish you the best of luck :)
