  1. My oath ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday at 8am. In the letter, it says to bring *Any immigration documents you may have*. What do they mean? What type of documents am I supposed to bring?

How long is the oath ceremony going to take? Is it several hours? What should I expect during the ceremony?

Just want to also let everyone know that there is still hope! Overall, it took 4 months for me from mailing the application to the oath. I guess they really stepped up!

    Thanks!

  2. 1722 IS a Tax Transcript.

You can get transcript by calling IRS.

Since I already provided original tax transcripts for the last 3 years in my application 3 months ago, is it ok if I bring copies at the interview or do I have to provide originals again?

The letter for the interview states original form 1722.

  3. Hi- I was just just reading the previous USCIS note about processing times. Why do you think there was such a surge in naturalization applications in 2007? They said July 07 was triple the 3 previous months and 2007 was double 2006!

Also, I am really wondering why it takes so long for some states to process. I live in a small not very populated state (and wouldn't think it is a very busy one either), yet the processing time listed is 14 months!! Is that right??

I would think that naturalization would be faster to process, either you're eligible or not. The decision isn't as subjective as for the I-751 or other applications that require more evidence. Why does it take so long? I'd love to know more about how things work at the service centers and local offices (I'm serious! it is very interesting!)

  4. Hi! I just mailed my N400 today (YAY!) but I just realized that in the question about how many days/trips I spent outside the US, I forgot to cross the "5 years" and replace with "3 years" since I am applying based on marriage. Do you think they're going to be fussy about it? I hope not....I've only spent 44 days abroad in 3.5 years I've been in the US.

  5. I was wondering if anyone had experience with changing address while your application is pending. We would be moving to a different town but staying in the same state and keeping the same local office. We want to sell our house but it may take a few months and I'd rather send my application now rather than wait until we have our new address. Just wondering if changing address will cause a lot of delay.

  6. I'm having a few marital issues with my husband but I am also at the time when I can apply for citizenship based on mariage. Given that my local office takes over 14 months to process any N400 application, I am wondering what would happen if we end up separating at some point before the 14 month wait is over.

Also, compared to the 10 yr green card, is the naturalization process stricter or the same? We had an RFE with my 10 yr GC because we didnt have much liabilities together and we still don't. It is not our fault but we dont have a mortgage or a lease because my hubby paid out the house a long time ago. Just wondering if we might deal with the same problem again.

    Thanks for the help.
