  1. For anyone who may be looking this up; my fiance finally received the email confirming our petition has been received by the embassy! We will be following the email's instructions to follow next steps. Finally!
  2. We did exactly that, twice actually. One to the NIV email and one to IV email, since K-1 seems to blur between the two. They sadly still haven't responded. Will do! We've submitted our DS-160, so we hope it will somehow speed up the process.
  3. Gotcha, thank you so much! I guess we'll hope the DS-160 will be the push needed, then. Thankfully we filed our taxes assuming that would be the case!
  4. Hello friends; I'm curious if anyone else is experiencing "delay" regarding their application arriving to the embassy in their country. Almost all sources online, along with the other entries I keep up here, seem to indicate K-1 applications arrive 10-11 days after the NVC sends out the notification that the petition has been sent. We received our notification on 19th of February, and it's been almost three weeks with no response from the embassy. We've emailed them, the interview portal, called the embassy, checked on the CEAC website; still looks to be in transit. Does DHL usually take this long? I know we might have a more peculiar situation since we're waiting on the Ankara embassy in Turkiye, and the current events may be making it harder. We're about to file our DS-160 anyway; is this normal? Thank you for reading!
  5. Oh my goodness, this actually worked!! Thank you so, so much!
  6. Ahh I understand, is it normal to see no data in CEAC then? Thank you for your good wishes, likewise! We are, had to find out via hours of looking it up. Still no info.
  7. Hello friends! I'm here once again, and I need help. Me and my fiance have finally gotten the notice that our petition has been sent to the embassy in my country. This was on 19th of February. Ever since then, despite checking the CEAC case status page every day, every hour, our search always returns as "Your search did not return any data." We were able to get our invoice ID after an inquiry, so we have that too. Every guide online says to send in the DS-160 after you know your case is in either transit, or "ready." I'm nervous we're missing out on a time limit. Do we send in our DS-160 despite not knowing where exactly our case is, or do we wait? Does the CEAC website eventually update? It's been almost a week since we got notice that our petition was sent, and I'm nervous. Thank you so much!
  8. Hey! Our status just changed to "Sent to Department of State." We're now on the lookout for NVC to receive it. I hope your visa moves smoothly, too!
  9. Thank you! I was actually worried about the DS-160 form part, I was wondering if that was a mistake on the page. Thank you so much, this has cleared up stuff for me. I was wondering if the page was simply not updated, but now I'll keep a closer look on it. I've also checked the dates, and it was March 2nd indeed! (Still getting used to reading the dates Americanized...) I'm hoping we'll get our status changed to "Sent to Department of State" this Monday, since it'll be over 60 days, then. We'll see from there; thank you so much for taking the time to respond!
  10. Hello! I'm a bit confused about what the current situation of our K-1 Visa is. On USCIS Case Status page, we were told our form was approved on 4th of November, 2025. We also received our confirmation via physical mail, and on the letter, it states "We have sent the original visa petition to the Department of State National Visa Center (NVC.)" The physical letter also states our approval is valid from 3rd of November, 2025 to 3rd of February, 2026. On December 9th, we sent an inquiry to NVC to check if they got our case. They responded and said they did not receive it, and that it could take up to 6 weeks. On the USCIS Case Status page, it still says "Case Was Approved." No status change on the page. Are they still holding our application in USCIS? It's been almost 60 days, and I'm afraid of our case getting lost. Is anyone else experiencing this long of a delay? To be clear; I'm not worried about NVC processing our case, I'm worried about the application leaving the USCIS at all. Please let me know! Thank you!
  11. Update to anyone who may check: we decided this type of mental stress was not worth it, so we'll wait until we get our visa approval and I get to, hopefully, enter the states! We'll try to get his SSC and driver's license changed before we sign our marriage certificate, so we can have the desired last name.
  12. Thank you for the responses! (I hope I'm doing the reply accurately, haha.) I understand, I'll be prepared just in case! We have his chosen name in the documents we sent, so it's not a big surprise to see his name has legally changed, I hope. We also have the reasoning of wanting to change the name legally so that I can marry into his chosen last name, and I hope that'll be easier to explain!
  13. Hello! I'm having a lot of anxiety about this situation, so I would like some advice. My fiance, the petitioner, and I, the beneficiary, have applied for my K-1 Visa and are now in the process of waiting for NVC to receive it. (Yay!) My fiance had gone and gotten approved for his name change about a few months ago, and had started the process of changing his documents. This name change included both his first and last name. He's still getting some of his documents in order. I am worried that changing documents in the middle of the process may create problems. The files we applied for the visa with have his deadname. (This is a gender-based issue, and therefore really emotional and important for us.) Is changing the documents (SS card, passport, etc.) okay as long as we include the court-ordered approval in? We have the legal "okay" to have his name changed, but I'm still nervous about things being "mismatched", if that makes sense. Thank you so much!
