  1. Hello guys, I received an email yesterday from the Embassy asking to fill out the DS-5535 Form and answer some questions in the email (which were basically the same questions in the Form). So, yes, the combination of AI and my birth country triggers the security check. It will take whatever it will take, but I thought of giving an update from those who may encounter a similar situation.
  2. Yes, and the green slip had the email address that I used
  3. Should I at least expect an automated message confirming that my documents were received? It has been five working days since I sent them via email, with no response.
  4. No, as I still have 6 months in my PhD, and will move permanently to US after graduation. Nonetheless, I had some communications with academics from US who asked me to apply for training grants int their institutions and confirmed that they would like me to work there. I was well prepared to answer job-related questions, but as said, my interview was too brief.
  5. I am based in London. It is NIW; no job offer is needed, but I will work as scientist in healthcare AI
  6. Thanks a lot both for your replies. My field is in healthcare AI with dual MD/PhD degree. I don’t think this qualifies for TAL; no visits to high risk countries, and I am Egyptian, so not red flags here (so far). The interview was extremely brief. I was asked: 1. What categories are you applying to? 2. What do you do with AI? 3. Asking my wife how we met and when (We are married for 7 years with two kids). 4. Do you have your CV with you? And that is it. My timeline: PD: 19 May 2023 Decision: 11 November 2023 DQ: Jan 2024 Interview date: 18 June 2025
  7. Hello everyone, I had my interview today at the London embassy (June 18), and after a few standard questions, the consular asked me if I had my CV. I was not, and he handed me a green slip asking me to email my CV to the email address mentioned on the slip. What worries me is that he returned my passport and all supporting documents. Any similar experience or guidance on the expected timeline?
