My fiance holds a Russian passport although she is Ukrainian by birth. The embassy (the so called fraud department) has only contacted us one time requesting information that had been previously submitted 10 days after the interview and a statement regarding her relationship with me. It was 161 days after the interview that they requested the information which was submitted within 2 hours of receipt of the email. That was 76 days ago. Still nothing from the embassy. Current status is "refused" under INA 221(g) but they will not provide additional information and are denying that they need additional information, interviews or documentation. From the embassy website..."Most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of the visa interview." We believe that although she has official refugee status in Costa Rica and has been to the US, they are sitting on her visa approval because of her passport.
