  1. Great news today in the mail box. We got an appointment letter for Feburary 25th, So now here is my question as always lol. We came to the US with a K1 visa and our AOS interview letter says that we need a completed medical examination form (I-693) and vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope(unless already sumbmitted) ! My question is was this done in Juarez before we came was this in the sealed envelope they gave us or is this something we need to do before we go to the interview ? Any insight or thoughts would be helpful ! Thanks and God bless Chuck and Teresa

You should have got a DS 3025 vaccination record. Take that to a USCIS designated civil surgeon [DCS] and have him fill out the I-693. You ONLY need the vaccination part. No need a full medical.

Most DCS will try and hit you up for the full medical. Shop around. Try Dr. Arnold also. I don't know if she is still doing the I-693!

She did/does it by fax and phone. Price used to be $20.

    Dr. L. E. Arnold

    4534 Westgate Boulevard, Suite 106

    Austin, TX 78745

    Tel: (512) 444-3131

    Fax: (512) 447-4699

Thanks for the reply ! My wife did not get the DS 3025 vaccination record. So I am not sure how to get the form. I also will try to Dr. Arnold She does have her vaccination record do you think this will be enough as we have entered the US on the K1 visa. Thanks Chuck and Teresa

  3. Great News on Decemeber 23rd recieved notice that her EAD was ordered. And on My Birthday Jan 2 she recieved the card in the mail. Yahooo  ! Now that is great we can be a two income family. Keep believeing and fighting the good fight ! They say all good things come to thoes who wait. How ever if it was not for this site. I would have lost my mind a time or two. God Bless Chuck and Teresa

  4. Got good news on our I765 and I 131.

On our I 765 the site stated that "On December 23, 2008, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. "

On the I 131 we got an Approval notice sent. "On December 23, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I131 APPLICATION FOR USCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT."

What great news this was for Christmas. Now all we are waiting for is the I 485 to have an interview or oour Green Card to be mailed. Not really sure how th change of Status works with the K1 visa ! We will keep you posted be encouraged. God Bless you all ! Chuck and Teresa

  5. Happy Hoildays ! Ok here is the deal I am getting nervous or impatient again. So I thought i would ask questions or seek for help here. My wife still has not gotten her work permit or her I485 interview yet. Here are our timelines.

    Date Filed : 2008-08-07

    NOA Date : 2008-09-03

    RFE(s) : 2008-10-20 Case resumed on 11-21-08

We had our Bio. Appt on 2008-09-20

The Case placed on hold on 10-20-08 and Now has Resumed on 11-21-08 ! We have had two touches so far and still no news.

I have heard some talk on here about an Info Pass appointment could someone tell me what that is and what that is used for. Is this something that can speed things up for us. We have been in the US for almost and 7 months now and married Six months of thoes. We are just praying that my wife can can get her Green Card and or her work permit soon. This is all so confusing so maybe we can get some insight to relieve the stress of it all. Thanks Chuck and Teresa

  6. Happy hoildays to all ! As of Decemeber the 8th we were touched again. All this touching seems like unwanted floor play  . Come on with where our papers. LOL Any how it is good to know that our case is being bounced around. So my question now is what do we have to look forward to. Since we came in the US with the K1 visa and we filed for the I 485 and we already had our Bio metrics appointment on 9-19-08. We did have one RFE for initial eveidence and our case just started moving again last month. So do you think we will have a appointment for interview or will we just recieve something in the mail. Has anyone been through this process ? What is most likely to happen from here. Thanks in adavnce for any insight. God Bless you. Chuck and Teresa

  7. Hey guys............. OUR I130 WAS APPROVED!!!! :D Just got notification online that our NOA2 approval notice was sent out on November 26th!! Our case was transferred to CSC on November 5th from Vermont. What a wonderful and early Christmas present!!!! I know there were tons of cases transferred to CSC in November so i hope this gives some people hope. I wish the same for everyone else still waiting!!! :goofy:

    congratulations!!!

    Congratulations

  8. I checked the USCIS website and it looks as if they updated our case as of the 26th of November but there is nothing mentioned on what they have done to our case. Is that a touch that i see some talking about on here, what does that mean. Is this a good thing or a bad thing. Any insight is helpful. Thanks Chuck and Teresa

Can you please tell me where you saw updated? It will be different note or what?

    Thank you

It was on the USCIS. I signed up for case status and that is where I saw a different date than the last one on the 21st when they resumed case status. I dont know if this is what you are looking for I hope this helps. Thanks for the response Chuck and Teresa

  9. do they wrote anything like this

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Response to request for evidence received, and case processing has resumed.

On September 18, 2008, we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. This case is at our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

my 60 days are over and i still waiting...did u had ur interview?

They did write that on ours. However I just found that today on the USCIS site. So with that being said we will keep the updates here as our 60 days progress. I know that this website helps us even though we have an attorney, So does others by posting their experiences. I wil pray that you hear news soon. As this is a hard and diffucult process but the rewards are worth every step of the journey.

  10. Thank God The USCIS recieved or info for our RFE so now our AOS is moving once again. The website stated that they will give an answer to our petiton within 60 days so soon we will know that final results of our case. This can be nerve raking but we are here together and we able to join the hoildays together this year what a blessing that is. Happy Hoildays to all and peace be with everyone. To thoes of you who are spending this year apart from your loved a speacial prayer goes out to you and yours. We know what that is like and we are sending you are very best. Chuck and Teresa

  11. Ok so I thought I would ask this here. Thank God for this site. Before I send in my 2007 tax forms what should I do ? This is How the Request reads,

" In order to process your application further, the pettioner/sponsor on form I 864, Affidavit of Support must sumbit all Federal income tax documentation submitted to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for the most recent tax year."

So do I resend the the form I 864 or should I just send the tax forms form 2007 ? Please let us know what you think. Thank You so much for being here ! Chuck and Teresa

It's just asking for the tax forms. Keep in mind, that includes the 1040, the w-2(s), and any 1099(s).

Send clear copies, do not send your original return.

Thanks my attorney got the fax today so he will be preparing all the papers today ! I am still unclear why they would need them a second time as they were filed with the I 485 before ! Who knows ! Thank you for your answer. If I would have had to send the papers it is better to double check here then just send something they dont want. I have learned that the only dumb question is the one you did not ask. Thanks again Chuck and Teresa

  12. When we recieved our K1 visa we had to show theses tax forms. I wonder why they would want them again !

Why they would want it? It's in the instructions.

AOS is a whole separate process from K1.

I did file the I 485 and the I 765 and for the AP but they put my case on hold. They want to see my most recent tax form, so I will send them again. I did include them in the packet I sent them ! I am just not sure why they want them again Any Thoughts ! Thanks Chuck and Teresa

Hi, I can't help to explain WHY they want them again, but I can assure you that the RFE is not as big of a deal as it seems. I had one, and had to respond through my attorney (it's a separate story, but I wish I DIY'ed instead of hiring him - too bad I discovered the VJ site too late, lol). Your attorney will probably prepare a response cover letter, and attach the tax transcripts/returns, and once the MSC receives it, you will see online that your case' processing resumed. It will move forward, don't worry. As you can see in my timeline, the RFE really didn't delay my EAD/AP. I think you will be fine as long as you file whatever they asked for. Sometimes they request for something that's already been submitted, and it's not unusual.

    Good luck! :star:

Thanks for your response. This whole process is timing consuming and nerve racking. It is a shame that we do not treat people with any more respect than a piece of paper. Who would of thought. The up side is that I am blessed with a beautiful and lovely wife who I would jump through flames for. God Bless You Chuck and Teresa

  15. Ok Say we got our Letter in the mail today telling us what we need to send in. We were asked to send in our most recent tax forms for the Affidavit of Support on Form I 864. That is all they wanted and all they are asking for. So once again I am sending these papers via fax to my attorney and having him send it to the US and Immigration Services. Does anyone know these guide lines ? What are they looking for when they ask for these papers ? When we recieved our K1 visa we had to show theses tax forms. I wonder why they would want them again ! How silly ! Any thoughts are greatly welcomed. God Bless Chuck and Teresa

  16. When the EAD was approved, we got an email and the case was updated online . We received the card in the mail a week after getting the email.

We did not get any email or case update when our AOS interview was scheduled; just the interview notice in the mail. There will be email and case updated online if your case is transferred to a Service Center (that usually means the case will be approved without an interview).

The day of our AOS interview, we were told we were approved. About 10 hours after our interview, we got an email and case status updated online, the email said, "Card Production Ordered". The next day, we got an email that said, "Welcome Notice Sent". After 6 days, we got the Welcome Notice in the post. The day after we received the Welcome Notice, we got an email saying, "Approval Notice Sent". After only two days, we received the Approval Notice and in that letter was the green card.

We did not have RFE for AOS but we had one for the I-129F. We got the email about the RFE and then 10 days later, got it in the mail. We had 87 days to send in the information, if it didn't arrive before that time, then the case would be rejected.

    Notice of Action (NOA) Types:

    I-797C = Receipt Notice (NOA1)

I-797E = RFE (Request for Evidence)

    I-797 = Approval Notice (NOA2)

Thanks alot that helps alot ! You are great ! God Bless you Chuck and Tesresa

  17. Ok so we are supposed to be recieving something in the mail but nothing has showed up ! I wonder if there is a delay in the mail because of the election. Or maybe it got lost in the mail ? Our I 485 case was put on hold (pending inital eveidence) as of October the 20th. I called that Number for the USCIS and they said I should recieve something on form I 797 but does not state what that is ! Does anyone know how long I should wait before going crazy ! I mean all of the papers seem to be time sensitive so does any one have any ideas ! Thanks Chuck and Teresa

  18. Hey all Last week on the 20th my wife and I learned that our Case for the AOS was placed on hold. We learned that they would be mailing out something for initial eveidence about our case and we have no idea what they are going to request. Our thoughts and prayers are to keep our case moving. We had so many troubles in Juarez that this putting our case on hold now is never racking. My wife says at least we are here in the US and are now married, we are together. That is a true blessing. I am so glad that there is a visa journey here to walk every step of the way with us. Thanks for letting me vent ! God Bless you all Chuck and Teresa

  19. HELLO I NEED A LITTLE HELP, MY WIFE GOT HER K 1 VISA ON APRIL 29 2008, AND WE CROSS THE BORDER THAT DAY, WE MARRIED ON MAY 17, THE I 94 SAYS IT EXPIRES ON JULY 29, WHICH PASSED ALREADY, WE HAVEN'T FILE FOR AOS BECAUSE MONEY, HER PASSPORT SAYS THE VISA WILL EXPIRE OCTOBER 29, I'M SENDING THE PAPER WORK TOMORROW THE 27TH, IS THERE GONNA BE A PROBLEM, HOW LONG CAN WE WAIT TO FILE AOS AFTER GETTING MARRIED?

FIrst of all congraulations on your K1 visa and getting married. Like said before if you were married within 90 days you will be fine. They could ask you why you waited to file but that is all from what I have read. My wife and I just filed for the AOS and we did just in time before the I94 expired. That was a a great wait lifted. Our thoughts our with and we look forward to your update. Dont worry the hardest part is over ! YOU ARE TOGETHER with your wife ! How awsome is that ! Good Luck Chuck and Teresa

  20. Sounds like they sent you an RFE.

Another Silly Question what does it mean when your caes is "TOUCHED" ? Thanks Chuck and Teresa

Means that your case has been looked at. If you have registered for updates online then the 'last updated' date that you see is called a touch. There is an example in my blog link below (btw I do not get paid for people viewing my blog)

Thank you for your insight ! In that case my I 485 was touched on Oct 21st and we are still waiting for snail mail for the RFE. God Bless You Chuck and Teresa
