OKAY confused...I thought we were filing for a k3 not the AOS...i thought that was after 2 years!!

NOW im having a panic attack over the 1010 dollars!! OMG i am about to just give up...i thought THAT came later...

so explain pleaseeeee cause NOW i am even more confused

K-3 is a VISA (e.g. it would be the permission for your husband to enter the country legally). You already filed and used the K-1 VISA for your hubby to enter legally as a fiance. Now after marriage, he must adjust status to become a permanent resident (and get a "green card"). That is the "AOS" we're talking about here. Yes, it's $1010 filing fee, I'm afraid. And I wouldn't bother trying for a fee waiver... Been there, tried that. Do a cash advance on your credit card if you have to; at least you finally found a joint sponsor.

From what I recall, I think only 1 year of tax returns is required, the employment letter (stating income, hiring date, and continued employment), and the affidavit I-864 (each of these for both you and your sponsor). I would add additional tax returns if there's some inconsistencies (dips) in income and your prior returns can show more.

    Good luck, Meri.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My sponser whom I have only met once in my life but have known for 4 years just sent us 2k to get it all going...I cant stop bawling!

  3. I went through all of the paperwork the other day just trying to plan ahead and it is not too bad. It will just take some time as this process always does. He will have to visit a civil surgeon to have some paperwork filled out in reference to his medical that he had prior to entering the US and his vaccinations. I had to call 3 before I found an office that actually knew what they were talking about. There is a fee for that as well which is not included in the amount that I just gave you...I don't think it is very much though...

k will have to find out cost on that to..but it will work out...THANKS!!!!

  5. You are to apply for the Adjustment of Status for your husband not a k3. Go to the guides and pull all of that information. The fees are $1,010 total. It looks like you got married in April. Some people do wait past the 90 days to file the paperwork but I would not advise waiting too much longer.

thank you....that is what i was scared of

Until you find out they lost the medical...

I can relate with the losing the medical thing

That is when I would be put in a mental institution! You can visit me at St joes 5th floor room 666 LOL

I barely avoided adding a white jacket to my wardrobe ;)

I hope they come in my size. I've one on order

Trust me they have ALL sizes!!! I am hoping they come in purple...white is do drab!!

LOL...I might ask for one in blue, without those pesky sleeves that tie in the back. Hard to do any amount of basket weaving that way :D

just dont fart in them is all i ask

  8. I can't believe I am 6 months out from filing my I-751 :o It feels like I just got here

    How is everyone doing?

WOW! good good for you girl! HUGGLES

well as you all know its been almost 6 months since kai and I got married. I got a different job as my old boss was being verbally abusive and I snapped there. I was crying all the time. However my new job only pays 7.75 an hour (more then the last one) and I am STILL looking for a second one to keep him here. I am at my wits end and stressed out completely. I have been hunting sponsors down to no avail and am super stressed out that he will get sent back.

I dont know what to do.

  13. My fiancé and I just mailed off our package today to the California Service Center. Who else is filing this month? I'd love to hear from you!

I'm a nervous nelly as we're headed out of town for several weeks so he can meet my parents. I mailed the package certified/return receipt so I can check that they received it. I guess I will just keep anxiously checking to see if they cash my check while I'm away!

  14. You will just need to keep records of income and expenses, then file a Schedule C - Income from business when you file taxes.

One good thing there will be LOTS of things you can deduct, but you will only be able to claim the profit as income, not your net.

i.e. You do $3,000.00 a year in business, but your business expenses/deductions are $2,750.00, your profit is only $250.00 and that is what they will consider.

I know because I was self-employed when I filed for my wife and they would only look at my profit, not my gross income.

    ahh got ya thank you!!

  15. Well, here we go again on a new thread for the Aussie's round 3

anyone know if I can use my photographer side business as income...its not taxable and dont know how to make it taxable...but its an extra 300 to 400 a month which puts me over for the k3 issue for money requirements
