  1. it is because, 1- they don't know what the extent of the ban and they have not dealt with this before. 2- because my case was just sent to the Embassy. their reasoning is that I should not rush things and wait to see what directives the Embassy has. it is not clear if marriage Visa would even work. it is a full ban. it is not clear to me what exceptions are applicable in this case. If anyone is familiar with an attorney who is actively working on travel ban cases please let me know.
  2. Update: So I talked to 2 attorneys. They both suggested that I wait until we hear from the Embassy since we are at this point of the process. not sure what there reasoning is for this. I should hear from the embassy soon and will give an update.
  3. Her family approved of our relationship. Her family is secular. So we can consummate the marriage. As far as kids, she does't have a problem what so ever with them being Christian. in fact she would rather they go to church so this not an issue either.
  4. ok so I have a special case. my fiance and I are from two different religious backgrounds. I can't marry her unless I legally change my religion. I don't want to change because it will affect many people around me ( strange but its a fact even though it is only paper). NVC just created and transferred my K-1 case to the embassy. my fiance is from Syria and Syria was just added to the list of full travel ban. I am wondering what is the extent of the ban on K-1 Visas? if K-1 is not an option anymore and I can't marry her anywhere that allows Syrians in and allow civil marriages what options do I have? any one have any thoughts on "Utah Online marriages"? are they recognized buy USCIS? any help is much appreciated.
  5. Can someone please. tell me what's the extent of the travel ban? does it affect K1 Visas?
  6. @Agiewes On Nov 13th, USCIS application status got changed from "approved" to "sent to NVC". so that took 50 days. I will keep updating as I go.
  7. I asked if they have an update. I have not gotten a response yet. I am assuming its going to take a while before they respond
  8. I have received my i-797. USCIS says: Case was approved and notice was sent to NVC. Also, my method of contact is that I filled up the contact inquiry form on the NVC website. could you share in helpful info? I just did.
  9. Yes. I have received form I-797. Its been a 40 days
  10. Hi, I am confused as to who creates the case number after the USCIS approves my I-129F. So.... 1-does the NVC or the Designated Embassy creates the cas number? 2- do I ( the petitiononr) reciever the case number or does my forgiven fiance (the beneficiary) recieves it? 3- how will I recieve the case number? Mail or e-mail? 4-how long does it typically take untill we recieve the case number 5- USCIS form I-797 says to contact the NVC if i dont receive a case number with a minimum of 30 days, However, the NVC does not respond to inquiries in regards to non-immigrant visas. So who should I attempt to contact in this this regard?
  11. This is so confusing. here is what I found on the USCIS website: https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-processes-and-procedures/affidavit-of-support " Affidavit of Support For Fiancé(e), Spouse, or Child as a “K” Nonimmigrant If your relative is either a K-1 fiancé(e), a K-3 spouse, or a K-2 or K-4 child of fiancé(e) or spouse, you do not need to submit an affidavit of support at the time you file your Form I-129F petition. Instead, you should submit an affidavit of support at the time that your fiancé(e), spouse, or child adjusts status to permanent resident after coming to the United States. " So does this mean that I don't have to submit an affidavit at the time of the interview?
  12. HI everyone, I just confused as to when I am supposed to file form DS-160 for my fiance. As of now, USCIS has approved the petitions and sent it over to the NVC. we are waiting for a letter from the NVC. should I wait until I receive my case number from the NVC or should I go ahead and submit my DS-160 anyway? Also, should my fiance (beneficiary) file this form of can I do file it on her behalf?
  13. Hi, For my beneficiary, I could not input her father's first name due to the character length limit. What should I do in this case? My fiance's father is dead, what should I type for the city and country of residence? how do I mention that he is dead? Thanks,
