My Wife needs to change her name on her passport to her married name so that it matches her Green card. Does anyone know the best place to call in the US for this or do we need to contact Home office in the UK?
He is the link to the website where you can get the forms needed. When I did mine it took about 2 weeks to get the new passport and they return the old one with the corner cut off.

Did you use the C1 form? I assume it is the standard for all changes since there is very little guidance on the page. Also how long ago did you apply for your name change. they are currently showing a 6 week processing time. Thank you for all the information. Also I don't see a fee schedule do you remember how much it was?

After the Green Card has been received do my wife and I need to update USCIS of any address changes as I saw on many forms when were were filling out the adjustment of status form.
Or is this something we no longer need to worry about until we apply to lift the Conditional Status.
Thanks in advance.

I am looking at flights for for my fiancee to come over now that she has recieved her visa. Does any one know how much time she will need to clear immigration at the port of entry? I ask because we want to make sure we have enough layover time between flights.
She is flying in to Newark Airport.
Thank you

My fiancee has had her German police record translated and stamped by a professional, court-certified translator. We have now noticed that the wording on the checklist says “"translations must be sworn to before a Notary Public or Commissioner of Oaths". She called the Embassy to check this, and the person at the helpline just said that they need to be translated by a “competent translator”. These two guidelines seem to be worlds apart – one says that only a competent translator is required; the other source (the checklist) says the translation must be “sworn to”. Does anyone know if the “sworn to” requirement is covered by getting the document translated and stamped by a a Publicly Appointed and Sworn Translator (who is by default authorized to certify translations, thus they have their stamp and are sworn in in court), or if the translator also has to take the certified translation to a notary public and swear that it is a true translation (even though they have already certified this themselves using their stamp)?
(The notary public /commissioner of oaths obviously could not certify a translation himself/herself unless he/she had a translator's qualification and spoke both languages.)
Thanks very much for any information on this!

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a cheap and clean place to stay overnight in London? My fiancee is travelling from Scotland for both the medical and interview and will have to stay overnight.

The Package instructions seem to be conflicting in what they are telling my fiance.
The letter states that she should bring her Birth certificate and police certificates to the interview and one of the forms that she needs to mail in as a part of step one states that these should be attacted sna sent in prior.
Can any one clarify this for us..
Thanks

My Fiancee lived in The United States for three years on an H1B. Will she need to get a Police Report for the US and if so does any one know the proper proceedure to get one. Just for more info She lived in Texas the entire time would she perhaps need one just from Texas.
Thanks for any info

Yes, there is a problem. Once the K1 is activated by entry into the US she can not leave the US until she has AP. If you leave, even on a cruise ship, she wont get back in and you will have to be separated again and file for a spousal visa.
You MUST get married within the US and she must not leave the border without AP.
What is AP ?

My Fiancee and I are considering getting married on a cruise once she gets here on her K1 visa.
Has any one here done that?
Are there possibly problems with the Cruise liner going in to international waters, a Caribbean island that is not a US territory, etc?
Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks in advance.

It's definitely good to have a duplicate copy...is there a way that you can "re-create" the packet? Might be a lot of work, but it's probably worth it...
I can recreate the packet as i have all of the documents stored electronicly.(Without Signatures)

I submitted my I-129f and I completely forgot to make copies of the original application.
How bad is this and is there a way to rectify it?

My wife has not changed the name on her passport yet and we were thinking about travelling. We do have her Permanent Resident Card but it has her married name on it. Does any one know if this would be a problem going through passport control to get back in to the US ?
