  2. Hello VJ'ers, I was just wondering if is there anyone here that filed their Removal of Conditional Green Card last Feb 2011 under Vermont Service Center. I am done with my biometrics already and i got my 1 years extension as well last March, but i still havent recieve my actual 10 years GC yet til now. I was just checking if is there anybody here who file on the same month as i do and whats their status.....

Any response will be highly appreciated. Thank you. I cant get my pofessional driver's license without my 10 years GC, because my learner's permit was expired already last May 2011 as my 2 years conditional green card expire.

  3. Hello,

Dont worry, you are perfectly fine. Me and my husband dont have much joint account neither. Based on the documents we submitted the only joint documents that we have is the Income Tax and Car Insurance. Postal Mail with my name on it addressed to our house is just an addition that proves to them that we are living together. Bills are not under my name, it's all under my husband's name (which is the original petitioner). Bank account, all my pay checks and cash recieve from my work are deposited to his bank account which is only under his name.

We didnt have any problem at all. I am almost done now. My biometrics was taken last March 11. And now i am only waiting for my plastic 10 year green card. Hoping to get it soon.

  4. well for me, if you have all the documents ready for submission then u can just let your husband send it on the day you think you need to, like you said july 29. You dont have to worry about biometrics, because i already called the USCIS about that. They said that in case you were out of the country when your biometrics schedule letter is sent, just make sure your husband is in your house to recieve the letter and he can reschedule your biometrics. I inquire this before to the USCIS because i already have plan to go to philippines last april.

I explain it to them that i will file my I-751 first week of February 2011 and i have plan to visit philippines by April. I ask them if is it possible to fly out to philippines assuming if i wont have my biometrics yet, and they said, YES, it is possible. They said, just make sure your husband is in the house to recieve the letter if it arrives so he can reschedule the biometrics.

But if you wish to do it after your vacation before the expiration, i think its ok as well.

    P.S.

Good thing i recieve my biometric schedule before my flight last April, so we didnt have to go through rescheduling anymore.

  5. I just went to the philippines for a vacation. Since my Philippine passport is expired already so i have to renew my passport. Supposedly my vacation was from April 17 to May 28, 2011, however because my passport wasnt release yet before May 28, then i have to extend my stay for indefinite time, good thing my airline "Koreanair" didn't charge any penalty or rebooking fee for first time changes on the ticket. So i waited til my passport renewal was released, my stay in the philippines was extended til june 11, 2011.

The passport processing in Philippines now is "40 WORKING DAYS", well i would say in Cagayan de Oro but im not sure in other cities and provincies. They dont have expedited process anymore. In my case it was released before 40 days from the time i file my renewal because they just try their best to process it faster because i already have my return ticket with me for i didnt know that they change their system coz i was in the States the whole time. I was just lucky i got mine before 40 days but still the damage is done, i wasnt able to return on my supposed scheduled date.

  6. well, there is always two sides of the story, but based on what you said, i dont think you made a mistake.

First, your wife should have told her friends that you decided to stay home so you can take care of her while she is still recovering the surgery. And im sure those friends will understand. Its just a simple RESPECT issue. Coz if she only explain it to her friends that you are working at home and you constantly answers phone from work, then i dont think those friends would make so much noise.

Granting she told her friends about the situation, well, those friends are not considerate. And if i was your wife, i will tell my friends that we need to slow down coz my husband is working at home. And if she doesnt understand that simple thing, there is something wrong with her. She's being a spoiled brat. Well, if there is a party, sure, lets get loud, but its not. There should be respect between each other. Respect begets respect.

Throwing things, breaking things? wow, that is UNACCEPTABLE period.

I do understand her though that she is still recovering and she needs sympathya and she needs companion like friends to cheer her up, but she should also consider you. Im sure she did a stupid mistake. But she has pride, im sure she is very shy towards her friends. She probably told her friends how great a husband you are and with that one thing you did , she feels like you ruin everything that she told to her friends about you. Maybe she feels shy now to her friends. ANd you never know, now, she start telling her friends like " i thought my husband is nice, im sorry guys you feel insulted in our house, blah blah blah" and those friends will start saying yeah, he is, blah blah blah until she will get brain wash. Dont you ever let anybody ruin your relationship. ACT now before its too. I would understand if you will break up (hope not) if both of you, or one of you doesnt feel the love anymore, coz there is no sense of continuing a relationship if one one person is working to make it last. Because if the other person has a mind set that she or he want to leave, he or she will leave no matter what. I hope she will realized what she did, and she will realized how nice you are. She is so lucky to have someone like you. There's plenty of filipinas around here in US that are married to someone who doesnt care about our culture, doesnt care about our feelings, #######, etc she should be thankful she got you. SEEK for a COUNSELLOR.

  7. My wife is from the philippines, she has had her green card now for a bout 6 month. She wants to go back to the philippines for a visit. The only concern we have is that her passport is still in her madin name, not her married name. So i assume all she need to do is carry a certified copy of our marriage lisence with her. she would get her passport changed to her married name while in the philippines but she will not be there long enough to do that.

Am i correct that this is all she needs and should not have any problem traveling to, then from the philippines back here???

    thanks all

Im in the philippines right now for 6 weeks vacation, been here since April 17, and i'll be back to US on May 28. There is no problem with regards to your wife's situation, coz im on the same situation. For as long as you have evidence showing that those 2 different last name belong to the same person you are perfectly fine. In my case, my name on the ticket is my married name. My passport is still under my single name. My green card is on my married name of course. When i was at the airport. All i presented is my passport and my green card, thats is. There wasnt no question at all. Just for support purposes i also bring with me my marriage certificate/license.

On my part my ticket is on my married name. But i think it would be a lot better if you use the name on your passport, because the airline will look at your passport. But as i said, even if i use my married name, i didnt have any problem at all, coz i have my greencard with me and i also bring my marriage license.

    have a safe trip soon!

  8. Hi All,

My fiance and I have known each other only about two months (one month online before meeting), and we are genuinely in love. We will have a civil wedding in the Philippines at the end of this month, and a ceremonial wedding in December. I've known members of her family for years, though, and we were introduced through her cousin. We'll have reception after the civil wedding, but only her family will be there. We have chatted and sent email every day either on Facebook or Skype. I visited her last month. None of my family has met her in person. Here's what I'm thinking I will provide:

    Marriage certificate

Boarding passes / Visa stamp from last month's trip and this coming trip

Receipt for wedding bands and engagement ring > 2000 USD

Pictures of us together in the last trip

Pictures of the civil wedding and reception

Receipts from the reception venue and caterer

    Chat logs?

Is there a problem with the length of our relationship? Do you think this will be sufficient for the I-130? Is there any weight if I add affidavits from members of her family, since they are not American citizens/residents? Any other recommendations? Does the I-130 ever get denied for failure to justify the relationship?

6+ members of my family will travel to the Philippines for the December wedding, I'll add her to my health plan, and I will make an additional trip in August so I'm thinking we will be okay come interview time.

    Thank You!

    Eric.

i dont think there is a problem.... Well, in my case we applied for K-1 visa. Ours wasnt that long too, but we never encounter any problem at all, in fact mine was approved so fast... we filed our K-1 around april 2008, got approved june 2008 and went to US august 2008. For as long as you have your evidence proving that you have a relationship going on, you will be fine.

    Good luck!

  9. Hello,

A K-1 is not a problem i think. You have sufficient evidence already. When me and my hubby file our K-1 visa before through an attorney (which is not necessary for as long as you are here in VJ, this really helps a lot), we only submitted 5 photos together. You dont need too much photos. And with regards to other proof of relationship, you still dont need too much email, phone records or money transfers, just a few pages is ok. ON us, we submitted 5 photos together, 5 emails (me and hubby), money transfer and a phone records. Regarding your previous flight to the philippines, im sure you still have your copy in your email right? the immigration only need the eticket which im sure you still have it on your email. If you deleted it already, it wouldnt hurt if you will call your travel agent and ask for a copy of your previous flight.

    just my opinion though....

  10. Hello JVer's,

Let me go straight to my concern. I have lost my 2 years conditional green card that will soon to expire on May 5, 2011, i just notice it today when i go over to my documents. But despite of that, i am done filing my I-751 already, i have my 1 year extension already and i am done with my biometrics as well. My problem is, i will be going to philippines this April 16, 2011 to May 28, 2011. Question, do i still need my expired green card as soon as i come back here from philippines or my 1 year extention will be just fine??? Do i have any problem as i leave United States and as i come back from philippines without my 2 year conditional green card that will soon to expire???

You maybe wondering why i plan for a travel to philippines even without my 10-year green card yet. Well, before i booked my ticket, i make sure that it is ok. I called the USCIS, and they told me that i can travel to philippines for as long as i have my 1 year extention with me. But that time, when i called, i have no problem at all. Coz my 2 year conditional GC wasnt lost. And now, i am getting worried coz even if my conditional green card is soon to expire and i have my 1 year extention with me already, i still dont know if do i have to have it as i leave the country and as i come back or not.

I talk to the USCIS customer service agent today, but it seems like the person i just talked to, doesnt really know whats she's talking about. So im just assuming, someone here has the same problem before, or know something about this matter to help me.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  11. ooooooooops, sorry i wasnt paying attention, hehe, i thought it was interview and medical, dang! im sorry. well about nearest hotel in DFA PAsay, i have no clue, hehehe, since i am from mindanao too.

But BTW, why do you have to go all the way to Pasay to renew your passport??? why not in Cagayan de Oro (my hometown BTW)? I am being so curious now, coz i am here in US now, and im going to visit pinas this april 16 with a travel documents on my hand coz my philippine passport expired already. And the renewal of the passport here in US as far as my location is concern which is Georgia will be in Washington DC, so i wont be able to travel there coz its too far from me, thats why i requested for a travel documents which i am being approved and i will just renew my passport in Cagayan de Oro. But i was wondering why do you have to go to Pasay? why not just in Cagayan de Oro?

  12. when i have my interview and medical 3 year ago, i stayed at Ralph Anthony Suites, its a walking distance to St. Luke, its only a few steps away, maybe 50 steps or less, very very near. It's right in front of Philippine Court of Justice. The price is very reasonable. Walking distance to St Luke, and its near US Embassy too. I am also from Mindanao. Good luck in your visa

  13. or you can do it this way, coz i almost have the same problem. I already have my ticket for philippines on April 16 bfore i got my biometrcis schedule. But before i bought the ticket i called the USCIS if is it ok to travel even if my biometrics is not done yet, but i already have my 1 year GC extension? They said, YES, it is ok. For as long as you have someone in the house that will check your mail and let them reschedule your biometrics through mail, address to your service center. Good thing on my case i got my biometrics just last week, March 11, so i dont have to worry about all those #######. ENjoy and have fun on your vacation in pinas.... I cant wait for mine too, hehe

  14. any updates of your timeline with regards to ROC? i was just wondering if how long will it takes, coz i have plan to go back philippines in april . BUt anyway, the expiration of my 2 year GC will be on May 5, 2011, and i already submitted my docs for the removal of the condition last week, feb. 1 and it arrives in vermont last feb 4. My question is, in your case, how long did it take for them to give you a case number? how long did it takes for them to schedule you for a biometrics, and from biometrics, how long did it takes for them to give you your docs for your 10 years? i am just being curious coz til now, they havent deposit our payment yet. and i have to book my ticket soon, but i cant do anything unless i have my proper documents with me
