  1. Oh yes I had to get all of thouse vaccinations, and to make it worse I reicive some of them twice... before I had the doctors apptment in bogota, I decided to accelerate things by myself a couple of months before so I went to the colombian red cross and vaccinate myself against everything know... and when I came back to the embassy doctor NICE surprice!! I had to get vaccines again  , why? they said they had expired or what ever and that I needed another dose.. I guess they just wanted my $$$.

so dont go by yourself and get vaccinations just wait for the 16 at the embassys doctor..

    Good luck with your interview!

  2. Hi I had my interview 2 years ago, and it went really smooth.

I went prepared because my fiance´couldn´t attend so I had to go ready.

I went dressed with dark trousers, comfortable medium heels, and a blouse VERY discreet I asume it will make the trick, this is not the time to dress to go to a disco.

types of questions asked: where did you meet? we met online so there is no shame to say it, they ask me: has him been married before? how often he visits you? where do you learn english? have you met his parents? what does he do for living?

they never asked me for pictures or emails or chatting papers or any other, but I brought them, I would advice her to bring all of that just in case.

She will be fine by herself, if she does speaks good english, she should try to answer in english, if not they will probably ask her in spanish, how do you both comunicate? so she has to say that you speak spanish (I guess so after living 10 years in colombia right?)

She should get to the embassy on time and be prepared to wait hours and hours, I entered at the embassy at 7 am and had the interview at noon.

they put everybody in two lines I guess 1 is for people with visas K1 and resident and the other tourist, then all the security check, and inside

first they will give her a folder provided by the embassy where she will have to arrange all her documents in a specific order, then she will be sent to a line where someone will take some of her documents, and will probably ask her 1 or 2 questions (hopefully wont be with the same rude woman) (she asked me: where did you meet? have you been in usa before?) I answered and then they told me to sit and wait....

then I heard my name, after 1 hour.. then they took my finger prints and looked at my passport then go and sit again in the area for residents and K1 visas

after several hours the consul called me, took my documents review my passport asked me the questions I mentioned to you above, and told me she approved BUT I had to bring an (special police certificate from england that I had not idea) this is my case they wont ask your fiancee for such a thing) explanation: is beacuse I lived in UK 2 years.

she approved and told me to come back with my passport and the cerificate and they would issue my visa.

IN YOUR case the consul just will approve if you have everything all the documents and will take your fiancees passport, then she will reicive it on the mail in 10 day with K1 visa. and then she can travel.

Good luck, review every thing you have, pictures, tax returns, all the forms everything. you will be fine.

is true god with the truth and every thing will go smooth and nice, and she will be in no time with you in usa!

  3. Yes we went trough the same thing when applying to K1 visa. My fiance´s parents in USA made a letter in which they said that he had never been married, then they notarized or got a stamp from a bank or notary to validate it was true. we used this document to submmit it to the embassy not translation necessary.

I don´t really know how would it work just for getting married in Armenia, your fiancee has to ask if they need it translated or apostilled.

  4. I'm sorry to hear that you wont be so soon with your fiancee, I came into US in a fiance visa and since the beggining of the process its been long and painfull, but now finally we are happy married. :D

We apply in april 2007 for the K1 and then our interview was in November, The lady checked my passport and said:

so you have been in US? what were u doing there?

Yes, visiting with my family and visiting my fiance...

and you have a visa to England what were u doing there? for how long?

Studying english, I was there for 1.5 years..

How long do u know your fiance? how many times have u seen him?

1 year, thousands... he travels evry month twice

Well i can not give u the visa today because I need you to bring me a police clearance from england and as soon as you have it bring it any day at 7 am. (it took us more than 40 days to get that thing).

I think you should go to the embassy with her, review everything again to see if something is missing on the information, be confident (I personally think that the embassador was focused in the fact that you were friends for long time and then suddenly you started a love relation so I think that might be the reason they are deniying it, say what happened explain very clearly, and I'm sure everything will be just fine, you will have here sooner than you expected.
