  1. Hi all, I hope I'm posting this in the right place.

My fiance's daughter is a precious 4 year old who has a basic understanding of English. She understands words like Mother, Father, colors and numbers. By the time her Mother and I wed she will be old enough for Kindergarten here in the states.

Now as an self-confessed over-protective father (I have 2 kids of my own), I want to make her transition here as easy as possible and reduce the stress of her trying to blend in with her peers. So I am trying to find a good computer program or CD/Bookset to help her learn English. Any suggestions would be a great help as everything I am finding is geared towards Spanish speaking children.

    Thanks,

  2. agree with trailmix. dont pay again if they already took the money. my online stuff is showing the same as yours, i paid mine last night, but they havn't taken out the money, but i can print the barcode but it says not paid on the main page, but paid on the receipt lol. i know they usually take the money a little slow, so i expect them to take it sometime today

I agree here. It usually takes a few business days for electronic transfers to work their way through the financial system. I would wait until Friday and check again. If it hasn't been corrected by then I would call and speak to a supervisor at that time.

  3. Hi everybody! This is my first post and it is a messy situation, so please have patience with me!

I have had a life changing experience by meeting my soulmate! Unfortunately, it is a messy situation, but we cannot help how we feel about each other.

The details.....She is from Romania, married, with a 3 year old son. She is married to an abusive alcoholic that doesn't work. She left Romania 3 months ago and went to her sister's place in Sicily to get away from him. She got him to sign a release to leave Romania for their son to "visit" Sicily, but she plans to never return. Her goal is to get a divorce from Sicily.

(FYI, I have been to Romania and Sicily and spent considerable time with her and her wonderful family, and there is no question as to our feelings for each other!)

Here is where I can use some help or ideas! I have scoured the internet looking for answers, but this is an area that is just hard to find information about. Assuming she gets divorced.....there is serious doubt the father will ever agree to signing any custody over to her, or ever signing anything to allow the son to travel. Since she is in Italy, is it going to be impossible for me to get her and her son to the US? On Fiance Visa, marriage Visa, or even a Visitors Visa? I have found nothing in detail on this subject, so can I expect they will never let the son here without the fathers permission?

Let me be perfectly clear. I WILL go to wherever I need to spend my life with my 2 angels, so bad news is not a detrimate, just a roadblock!

Again, sorry for the mess I bring here! But short of going to an attorney, I would like to be a bit more informed of my options. Thank you all very much, and good luck to all of you too!

    HeartPained,

I understand what you are going through as my fiance and I are in the same question. We were able to solve the problem by buying him off and him giving up custody for my Fiance's daughter.

The below link was a big help in understanding what our options were and to understand Romanian Family law...I hope it helps you as much as it did us.

  4. Hi All,

Can anyone please let us know any websites to purchase flights from the UK to the US?

Our destination is Minneapolis and we dont mind about layovers so long as there isn't too many :)

We have tried most of the airlines directly and find that Continental or Delta seem to be the cheapest.

We would prefer to fly from Edinburgh but will consider any UK airport if the price is good.

    Many thanks.

    You could try vayama.com.

  5. Hi all,

I have a confusing situation. My fiance is divorced and has custody of her daughter who we want to bring back to the US with us. Here is the situation...Her Ex is a real a$$ and goes out of his way to make my fiance's life miserable.

She and her Ex were married and divorced in Romania so by Romanian law, he has no say in what country their daughter is raised. So here is my question, will we still need his notarized approval to bring her daughter here to the US?

    Thanks for any information,

    Old Dog

  6. When applying for CR-1 for wife, you also apply for one for child by filing an additional I-130 for the child.

Immigrant visas like CR-1/CR-2 have the superior benifit of green-cards upon entry, K-3/4 have to file to adjust status to receive green-card.

Note: compare the 2 visa types, you will find that there is not much difference between the different visas for processing times, compare timelines.

The decision needs to be made before filing I-129F, USCIS will hold I-130 back in favor of the I-129F.

    SEE: http://www.uscis.gov/uscis-ext-templating/...0000ecd190aRCRD

You'll be money and headaches ahead by just filing an I-130 for each of them.

If you want an immigrant visa, don't file an I-129F.

Thanks for all information and advice, the process is now becoming clearer every second.

  7. Hi all,

I'm new to the sight and was quite excited about all the information here and I am hoping someone here can help with my question.

My Fiance has a young daughter and our plans are to marry in Romania and then start the paperwork to bring them to the US together.

From doing some research I saw that when you apply for the K3 that if the I130 is approved before the K3 that you can change the Visa request to an IR1/CR1. Now I also saw that there is no derivative of the CR1 like there is for the K3 so I am wondering would we be better off going with the K3/K4 or is there another option open to us?

    Thanks in Advance,

    Old Dog
