  1. It was a part of Soviet Union, not Russia. There is no Soviet Union in the list of countries so I have to pick Ukraine for her.
  2. Yes - this is exactly why I asked the question. "applying with a valid passport of a country that is not listed above" - so they currently do not live in that country. Primary residency is Russia and they just show that second citizenship on one of the later pages rather than on the Personal Information page. Do you know if they are still exempt?
  3. Interesting... My mom was born in Ukraine (not one of 75), dad in Russia. Both Russian citizen now. How does that affect the pause?
  4. Got approval for my parents' I-130. Right before that, the State Department indefinitely paused issuing green cards for their country (Russia). Processing still continues - fees, DS-260, interview in Poland etc. They both possess one more citizenship, from a country not included in the 75. On DS-260 still have to show Russian address etc because that is where they actually reside, and listed the second citizenship. Can this second citizenship help with going around the pause?
  5. Thank you both. A separate question, is there a way to sync their timelines? If my mom gets approved soon and my dad is still months away, she won't leave without him as they are both in late 70s and can only live together.
  6. I filed on 10/28/2024 for my mom and on 11/2/2024 for my dad. My dad's timeline was much longer from day one. At one point, my mom's date went to zero and the status was something like "your case is taking longer than expected, but within normal timeframes", and dad's case was like 7 months until decision. Just checked now, and as of right now my mom's case says 9 months until decision, my dad's says 19 months. Did this happen to anyone else? The timelines extended by so much, not sure what to attribute this to... Per receipt notice, both cases are in Texas Service Center.
  7. Thank you for your response but I am a bit unclear as of why this would look fishy. By then they will even be able to demonstrate that they entered and left the US on their current unexpired B2 while waiting for I-130 processing. Fully understand this is a discretion of the officer, just not sure why this is questionable move given current I-130 processing times.
  8. Filed I-130 for both of my parents in October'24. As of right now, my mom's case says "Your case is taking longer than we previously estimated, but it is within normal processing times" (that is because her initial estimate has passed) and my dad's case says 11 months until decision. They've been visiting me every year on a tourist visa and their visas expire soon. Can they apply for a new B1/B2 while waiting for I-130 decision? I am a bit confused because B1/B2 assumes no immigration intentions?
  9. Applied for my mom on 10/29/24, for my dad on 11/2/24. Same set of docs, same everything else, no complications. Went to check on status today in MyProgress, moms case says Estimated time until your case decision: 6 months, dad's: 17 months. I understand these may not be accurate, but in the real life will both cases be decided at the same time or can they be completely separate and a year apart? Thanks!
  10. Noticed today that I made a minor error in my mom's I-130 (which I filed a few days ago): entered her passport issue date instead of expiration date. Day and month are the same, just a different year (entered 2021 instead of 2031). The passport itself is attached to her application. Should I do anything about it, like try to contact USCIS? Or USCIS will just correct it? Thank you.
  11. Thanks all for your responses. This web site is giving me the following: Processing time for Petition for Alien Relative (I-130) at All Service Centers 80% of cases are completed within 15.5 months
  12. Maybe I did not work my question correctly. When I click on 'Your Beneficiary', it shows the beneficiary that I am working on right now. It does not let me add a separate (second) beneficiary. So looks like the web site does not allow working on two applications in parallel. Am I missing something?
  13. Applying for both of my parents as beneficiaries. But, unless I am missing something, it looks like USCIS web site lets you apply for one beneficiary at a time? Do I have to fully finish and submit my mom's application before I can start my dad's application? Thanks!
  14. Thanks for your response but I am not sure I understand... If they don't interview in Warsaw, where do they interview? Back to the original question, I wanted to check if Almaty and/or Tashkent is an option for Russian citizens.
