Howdy all,
So Sarah and I are going home for Christmas to the UK (yay!)
Last time we went, my son and I went through the non UK side to enter (since we're both US Citizens and haven't gotten his UK passport yet). When I went in the woman who stamped our passport noticed my wife waiting for us, and said "oh, next time just go through the UK side together as a family!"
Well, I had never heard of this before, so was curious if anyone has done that? Can you all go through the UK side and be allowed in, or does she still need to go through UK side, and our son and I go through the nonUK side?

Hey all!
Sarah received the letter of approval, as well as her green card on same day! This might be due to the fact I hadn't checked our post for 4 or 5 days hehe, but she has been approved as 10/21/2011!

Hey all,
Sarah sent her passport renewal in at the end of June. The delivery confirmation shows it was received July 1st. Fee has come out of the account already, but no passport in hand. We've gotten nothing back so kind of wondering what's going on. I know on their website there's a hotline to call, but it's a credit card payment line, so my question is...we're going on 3 months of nothing, is there anyone we could call besides the credit card line? Getting a bit worried, as we're planning on going back home in December, and my wife is currently in passport limbo
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Haven't received NOA yet (though it may be in the mailbox)
HOWEVER! My bank is showing the check was cashed as of today 7/27/2011.

you do not need the passport for the boimetrics appointment. I only showed my green card and that was enough for them.
Fantastic! Tyvm

So Sarah had to send her passport in for renewal as it expired in July. The problem is they're running around 10 weeks for processing. My question is what would be the case if she does not have her passport back by then, what will happen? If she needs to take it into the Biometrics office, can they postpone the biometrics until she receives her passport back?

Hannah, what was explained to Sarah (bare in mind this is for Ohio, not California) is that she can get her Driver's License but it will expire date of the EAD (so like June for us). They told her once she gets her Green Card in hand, that she can go into the BMV and they can switch it over to a full license.
Dunno if the rules are the same in CA, but that's what we were told for Ohio!

So i have a question - My wife Sarah had to wave getting her HPV vaccine due to the fact she was pregnant. Well we are wondering, she will be 26 in September and the baby isn't born until the end of September. Will she still need her vaccination after she is 26?

Sorry for the late post - Had a baby shower yesterday!
Sarah's green card was approved on Friday so Aug 8, 2009. Current status is Green Card Sent for production! Woot!

Email from CRIS: Approval Notice Sent of July 31st
Congrats!!!
We sent our packet the same day as yours, so hopefully we'll be getting an update soon!
No update on their website yet - last touch was 6/19/09.
So a question. I know a few people have called in inquire the status of their case - what number did you call? We have tried the number on USCIS, but my wife said she cannot find a way to get through to a live human being.
-
Just wondering if we should maybe call for a status check - we've not heard anything since 6/19/09 and haven't received any letter for an interview date.
Maybe we're just getting antzy
-
Hey Guys,
still waiting for an update from USCIS...no update since 6/19/2009
Congrats to everyone who's gotten their interviews and GC's!!!!!
-
Congrats to everyone who's been getting their green cards!
We're still waiting, no updates online, and nothing in the post, but hopefully it is around the corner
-
Hannah, you can also walk in and do it...Sarah and I did ours that way and had no issues....try calling them and asking - that's what we did - our original appointment, we could not do because we were out of town, they told us just to come in when we were able....it took longer to park than it did to do the bio appt
-
hey all!
We're still waiting, no updates online, but then it is July 4th week! So maybe soon!
Congrats to all who have gotten their green cards!!!!
-
Ours is still pending at a USCIS office for standard processing as of 6/19/09.
So Chibby we're living vicariously through you guys! Congrats to all who've gotten theirs!

I assume this means the local office?

Well Sarah received her EAD on Wednesday!

Sarah just got her EAD in the mail on Wednesday! Woot!
I don't know what she's going to do...as she's 6 months pregnant, and i don't know that she'll want to look into anything serious until well after the baby's born...though she was thinking of going to a temp agency for some form of work for the next couple months to help save for Baby.
Not sure though..there's also a few work at home sites, that are actually legit, that she's thinking of trying. At least she can start looking if she wants. Now that she's got her SSN, and EAD, we can breathe a bit easier about the Green Card process!
